Very pleasant outside dining. Interesting cocktails. Mussels were good, not fantastic but the portion is generous. Service was great.
Another outstanding dinner at Cafe D’Alsace. We’ve been regulars since 2014, and this place has never missed a beat (even amid the pandemic). This latest visit was during restaurant week — we tried the lamb burger, skate, tuna tartare, and goat cheese potato parfait — and omg, all were fantastic. Love their outdoor seating area and friendly & efficient service (as usual). You can’t go wrong with this place!
The skate fish is a must try!!
Everything was delicious
Our first server was dismissive and unresponsive. About 20 minutes later another server took over and he was terrific; concerned responsive, professional. The food was wonderful, just like being in Alsace. The frites were better than perfect; the portions more than we could possibly eat.
Great food and friendly service.
Service was excellent. We went during restaurant week so the restaurant was busy. I would say that the food was marginal at best. Definitely not the cuisine I had in Alsace, but the staff were welcoming and attentive. A value at restaurant week, but a pass at other times.
Nice outdoor space, decent food, wide Restaurant Week menu
Front of the house- welcoming and professional. Wait staff efficient and personable. Bar service knowledgeable. Seating excruciatingly uncomfortable fir me at 6’4” and 220 lbs.
Very leisurely dinner.
Possibly short staffed.. service not great but all else great.. delicious food
Great service and delicious food!! My favorite place on upper east
it was my first visit to this restaurant and I really enjoyed it
the meal was excellent the service equally pleasant
I will absolutely come back
We ate Outdoors with an isolated table so it was quiet and the service was fine. The restaurant was busy and the food was quite good.
The best FRENCH! food in Manhattan. The fact that a restaurant of this caliber participates every year in NYC Restaurant week, shows their generosity and commitment to honor the fine dining experience. And they do it with class, respect and humility.
Went for Restaurant Week. Nice selection and the food was good although not hot enough (especially sausage was actually cold in the middle). But it was VERY noisy - I could barely hear my companion who has a loud speaking voice.
Had a lovely Sunday dinner at Cafe d'Alsace. Food and drinks were delicious. The outdoor dining setup had a great ambience. Would definitely recommend!
The food was delicious and the service excellent. We were pleasantly surprised.
Neighborhood favorite. Paris bistro on the upper east side.
Food, service and drinks were exceptional as is the usual with Cafe D’Alsace.
Had dinner on Bastille Day - not the special but moules frites, saumon and salade were perfect.
Food, ambience, and service were all very good. Unfortunately, Cafe d'Alsace has loud and busy music playing which disrupted my ability to hear other guests at our table.
This is a very good neighborhood restaurant that has also managed to successfully adapt to the dinning conditions of the pandemic.
Lovely outdoor space on 88th Street
Amazing food in a nice café setting. Service was excellent too. Will be returning!
We've been going to Cafe d'Alsace for many years but this is the first time since the
Pandemic started. We had a lovely meal but were disappointed that a few of our favorite dishes were not available (gougeres, duck sausages, and tarte a l'oignon. Waiter said they are frequently requested but the chef is not making them right now.
The sidewalk tables are well-placed and attractive at Cafe d'Alsace. The service was excellent and very polite. I ordered the grilled artisan sausage with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, which was good. The dessert special, a blueberry tart, was the highlight of the meal, however. Best of all, the scene on East 88th street is relatively quiet and neighborhoody. It was the perfect place for a quiet and civilized dinner. Yes, I would go back.
Patron of 9 years and they never disappoint!
Amazing mussels. French Onion soup is also top notch. Dmitri gave us a great suggestion for wine, which we really enjoyed.
Friendly service and excellent food.
Sausages delicious as always. Service very prompt and courteous.
Wonderful glass of Reisling.
Had a great dinner outside at Cafe d'Alsace. Our group loved a tomato soup that was a menu special that evening, along with a fish prepared with what the chef called an "Antiboise" sauce. Both were wonderful. Our server, Justin, was great, and the sommelier, Dmitri, was very knowledgeable and helpful as we chose our wine. The outdoor dining area was very pleasant. It was an all-around great experience and we will definitely return!
Fantastic service and wine list is always on point! Thank you!
Delicious and creative rendition of grilled branzino. Sauce with avocado chunks. Over bed of veggies and fingerling potatoes. Wa
Cafe D'Alsace is our neighborhood "go to" for lunch and dinner. Delightful experience, good food, excellent service, happy atmosphere.
Meal was good but ordered steak poivre off the specials, didn’t have a price listed and was $56 and the steak was mediocre and the sauce not great. Other items ordered were good. If the steak was $30 I’d say it was fine but for that price I’d go elsewhere
I believe they’re suffering the reentry problems many restaurants are in terms of service inconsistencies, which we’ll all get through eventually. Unfortunately, my meal was so over salted, and the steak tartare was more like ground beef than chopped sirloin. I will say that their pride decoration at the bar was fantastic!
Excellent food and service.
Fine for local brunch and dinner. We dine at Alsace often.
Great neighborhood restaurant and delicious Alsatian food. Our choice for many years.
