Good quality and service. Very comfortable environment
Love this restaurant. Great food, service & ambience.
You can always rely on this restaurant for a good meal on the Upper Eastside.
Awesome find. My partner and I loved this great neighborhood spot. Our first time here. The food is very tasty and nicely presented. The service is fantastic. We sat at the bar. The bartender and servers were prompt and friendly. The music was cool too. Nice sexy beats. Moderate noise level for a comfortable chat.
The food was nothing special except for the sauerkraut. It was what you might have gotten at a diner run by a couple from Alsace. The wine was good. It’s a niche restaurant if you like this food which we do but nothing went beyond the expected. And it should have for the price.
Consistently delicious and authentic. Terrific wait staff team. A local gem
We made the reservation for my mother’s birthday and brought in a birthday cake. There was a small cake fee which the staff informed us ahead. After blowing the candles, the restaurant went above and beyond adding ice cream and decorated the cake plating so beautifully. Highly recommend and will come again!
Got very expensive
The food is always excellent, as are the servers. On a hot muggy night the fans and foliage made for comfortable seating.
Service was wonderful and the food was good. Prices have spiked and we understand Covid has contributed to costs. We hope prices will settle soon so we can return more frequently.
If manager hadn't tried to give us the worst table despite having a reservation and there being several empty tables when we arrived, my ratings would have been higher. Once he agreed to us having a decent table, everything was fine. I hate to think it was because we were two women.
We are loyal customers who often dine here. We were treated rudely upon check in for reservation after waiting 15 min for her to sort out where to seat a table of 3 before us. Hostess was slow and rude. Wanted to give us the table 1 foot from hostess/entrance stand. There were many other open tables for 2. She refused to give us saying that there are fully booked. We did have a reservation.
Unfortunately, we will not return. A shame, because we have always enjoyed the food here.
The service was horrible. My waitress was pleasant but inept. I had to repeat every item of my order twice before she understood me and was largely absent during the entire
Duration of the meal. I had ordered an iced latte and replied “yes” when she asked me if I’d like bread. When neither arrived after 20 minutes and my server was MIA I had to flag down the hostess to get what I was waiting for. Eventually my original server appeared with the latte ( but not the bread) and I never saw her again. I
Assume she went home for the day. Even my check had to be obtained from a different employee. There are too many mediocre French bistros in and around the UES to ever return here again.
Service was excellent. Tables a bit close together.
The waitstaff was friendly and fun. Our lunch was terrific. We sat outside and it was enjoyable.
Always a lovely evening! Thank you.
Seriously intense wine and beer menu and great sommelier.
Can pair you with your food and price point.
Very nice outdoor seating set up off the avenue.
Extraordinarily well prepared food.
We’re going to return.
What a great spot for lunch after a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. All the review categories were super, and there is another that I must comment about.
The Art Deco interior is GREAT!
I've been to Cafe d'Alsace and enjoyed the food and ambience. But that was at least a year before Covid hit. Decided to try again during Restaurant Week and I'm so glad I did. The Skate was delicious as was Le Pamplemousse cocktail. Can't believe I added a Crepe Soufflé after such a meal but so glad I did. Yum! The service was lovely and the setting relaxed; being inside was cooler and less crowded than outside. Think everything just combined to make a nearly perfect meal. Just great!
Wonderful choice for an intimate special occasion
Wonderful mid afternoon lunch sitting outside. All of the waiters wore masks.
Mussels and chilled cucumber soup were divine! Great service!
We felt that we were in France! Wonderful experience. Great food. Can't wait to go back.
One of my favorite spots for great food and nice ambience...even during COVID!!!
My steak tartare was great! And your bread and butter are always fine. Thank you.
We went there for NYC Restaurant week and the food was just okay, nothing special. I expected to be better.
Cafe Dalsace is like a mini Balthazar tucked away in the Upper upper east side aka Yorkville! It’s a gem, the food and service are wonderful!
Cafe d'Alsace has been one of my favorite restaurants in the Yorkville neighborhood for many years. Food and service are always very good; we had chicken and burgers for dinner this time and were very happy with both. But, 2 problems drop it from 5 stars to 4 stars. First, the indoor dining area gets very noisy when full, so bad that it becomes impossible to talk. Second, it's always been a bit over-priced, and now is even more so. Still, the food is good enough to continue to go there every now and then. The outdoor seating is very nice, I've been there in the past for lunch. (Unfortunately, it was too hot to sit outside, away from the noise, this visit.)
Had wonderful lunch and dinner at the restaurant. Service was very good. Their selections of cocktails, wines and beers is outstanding. Will be going again and again.
Excellent dinner, good service and nice choices. Great to have an outdoor option. Will go back.
Food was wonderful.
Service was tops.
We sat outdoors for a couple of hours and could have stayed longer. We were not rushed out
The restaurant week menu was a super deal. The food keeps getting better and better at Thai restaurant. If you think that goat cheese and beet salad is nothing unusual then you need to try it here. The presentation was beautiful and the innovative flavors were fantastic. I hope that this makes it onto their regular menu after restaurant week is over. The skate dish was even better than I have had at Balthazar which is a specialty there and where I had first tried sit and had it many times. Our server was a long time regular who knows the menu and is a pro. The profiteroles are definitely the perfect way to end a perfect meal. Can’t wait to go back.
Had a wonderful dinner last night! Honestly, one of my favorite restaurants in the city, a true neighborhood gem. We went for the restaurant week deal, but I have been here previously and all of my prior meals have been outstanding. Ordered the roasted beet and arugula salad and the pan seared skate. All the flavors were on point and dishes were beautifully executed. Will be back soon!
Very cute place! Wonderful restaurant week menu. Good drinks list!
Was generally very good. Looking for real bistro food and got it for the most part. French onion soup broth on the sweet side. Where's the cafe de Paris butter for the streak frite? If you're going to put a bordelaise on it tell me and give me an option or on the side. I'll be back.
Great Dinner during Restaurant Week, outside sidewalk seating and a lot of choices on the 39 menu. Food was excellent, and I'd definitely go back
Very pleasant outside dining. Interesting cocktails. Mussels were good, not fantastic but the portion is generous. Service was great.
Another outstanding dinner at Cafe D’Alsace. We’ve been regulars since 2014, and this place has never missed a beat (even amid the pandemic). This latest visit was during restaurant week — we tried the lamb burger, skate, tuna tartare, and goat cheese potato parfait — and omg, all were fantastic. Love their outdoor seating area and friendly & efficient service (as usual). You can’t go wrong with this place!
The skate fish is a must try!!
Everything was delicious
