Surprised how nice the vibe is inside the restaurant since it's located on a random stretch of 2nd ave. Great decor, lighting bright when we went in, but we were there for an early dinner and the lights when down while we were there. Irresistible complimentary cheese bread. Yummy tuna tartare in a delicious cucumber sauce. Husband's steak cooked perfectly as well as the fries. I had the salmon in sorrel sauce which the waitress said has been given Michelin stars in the past- it was amazing! A delightful evening.

We love this place. We have finally overcome the sadness from their move, and still cannot comprehend how builders in NYC can consider tearing down an architectonic jewel in the name of money. But they are a fantastic place and will keep coming back. It's just a little noisy inside, maybe a few chandeliers would fix the problem.

My go to spot on the UES. Food is always great and the only place I've found a good dry riesling. Only request would be to bring back the duck a l'orange, I miss it.

My daughter go the Marykand crab omelet. She loved it. I got the avocado toast. It was fair. The bread was cold. It wasn't great bread either. $24 seems high for sub pair toast. Half the frites were over fried and dark brown and very hard. The service was excellent. Ambiance was great. It's a nicely decorated restaurant. Also wasn't impressed with their brunch selection of cocktails. Lots of potential!

my three guests complained about lunchtime food. But one who ordered club sandwich too much bacon and melted cheese then got a cheese/spinach omlette which he liked. My wife who had salad with chicken was disappointed. Had musseles disappointed as very very small pieces in shell. Had to remind waiter to bring courses.

I had the Butternut Squash Soup ($16), it had a mild flavor and one that I did not find pleasing. My main course was Skate ($34), a special of the day. It was one of the blandest Skates that I have ever had. It came with a choice of potato or a salad. Total cost after tax and tip was $62 for a meal that was not pleasing to me.

The service was consistently under par. The waiter had someone training with him and there were errors with many of the items ordered. Most egregious was dessert. One person in our party ordered profiteroles and they forgot to bring them. The rest of us received our desserts. After about 20 minutes and repeated questioning as to when the dessert would be ready- they finally arrived. No apology. In fact, my friend was told “ the profiteroles are worth waiting for”. Not the least bit cute. We have eaten at Cafe D’Alsace in the past. The service has never been so ungracious. The management should begin heavy duty training with the staff .to teach gracious service and customer satisfaction.

We ordered the steak tartare, it made my daughter sick. We got the gnocchi and coq de vin we felt the entrees were good but not worth the price. The crème brûlée was very good. The service was good but the waiter hovered around our table. We thought there was a promotion ( it was advertised on their website) however we learned they actually had just not changed the website this was very disappointing. Overall we felt it was not worth what we paid and was just okay.
