Nice French bistro. Food was ok. Portions for the main dish were quite large.
My daughter and I had a wonderful, leisurely dinner. Michelle had an excellent salmon dish. I had a superb duck a l'orange with crispy skin and tasty sauce accompanied by roasted potatoes and an ample sample of very varied vegetables. We shared an unusual dessert of crepe souffle stuffed with whipped cream in a passion fruit sauce. The ambiance was reminiscent of an old Parisian cafe, and the waiter was friendly, informative, and efficient.
Dry authentic French bistro dining
It was a joy from start to finish. The food was superb. The menu filled with regional cuisine each well made and delicious. The wine list surprisingly comprehensive with extremely good regional choices. The ambient noise was lively enough to be invigoration, but did not interfere with conversation at the table.
The service was excellent: quiet, efficient, caring, and unobtrusive.

Cafe d'Alsace has an amazing brunch, but dinner is not as good. When my boyfriend and I had dinner here previously, we both thought that our entrees were undercooked -- and I had ordered my salmon well-done. This time, I was very happy with my gnocchi, but my boyfriend's duck entree was underdone. Service was pleasant and friendly but very slow.
Came here for dinner on a Saturday night. Service was good and food was great. I would definitely come back here again; there were other items on the menu that I’d like to try.
Good food, good value. But the noise level was deafening, a very high level according to both our ears and Soundcheck. If restaurants, like this one continue to be built and run to be LOUD, future customers--like me and my friends--will not eat in them.
Great place to go for date night, special occasions or just because. The prix fixe is a great value. Food is fresh and delicious, portions are generous. The staff made my mother feel fêted on her birthday. Highly recommend.

Having been a regular, I have not been there in over a year. The food is better than ever. Worth traveling from the UWS. Had the fois gras, the best yet. The gnocchi are incredible. Nothing like them in the city. The desserts were equally amazing. Having owned a restaurant, this is a true gem.
Food is consistently good. Our friends loved it and they consider themselves gourmands! However as evening progressed noise level was high so difficult to converse.
I had high expectations for duck breast which is served in this French bistro. Have had it many times. I ordered rare. It was a little too rare so I ate the duck leg and the waiter took my duck breast back to the kitchen to have the breast cooked "medium rare." He returned with a new plate and the duck breast. It turned out to be as rare as the first portion i received. Being so rare i did not enjoy my dinner. Vegetables were outstanding.
We had the Restaurant Week lunch. Appetizer: Sausage and sauerkraut, maybe the best sauerkraut we've ever had (and we've had it in Alsace). Trout was delicious and the potatoes to die for. Tarte Flambee was basically good, but it seemed to have been sitting out for a long time, then topped with cheese and reheated, not good. Gnocchi and Brussels sprouts was tasty but very rich – something to have only after a hard morning's work or hiking.
What a lovely dining experience. Warm, inviting space. Concerned, helpful service. And of course, wonderful food. We came for restaurant week, but ended up with a pre-theater special. Everyone enjoyed their choice. Portions were plentiful and tasty. There was no downside to our dining experience. Would definitely return to try other options.

Came here for restaurant week, one of the few if not only offering seared foie gras. The Foie Gras was pretty good, everything else was sub par. Not sure if it's because we went right before they closed. The duck confit was not good, the duck was so over cooked it was chewy and dry. The server was really nice and checked on us but I didn't have the heart to complain about the duck because I'm sure they all wanted to go home.
The food was very good as always and the service was very courteous although the place was packed. Definitely a straight triple A recommendation.
This restaurant has it all: charm, wonderful cuisine and friendly, attentive service - plus, for this beer geek, an outstanding beer list on par with its wine list. Though we live not far from another excellent establishment from the same group, Nice Matin, we make the trip to the Upper East Side when we're ready to splurge on a celebratory meal because of the beautiful fin de siecle decor and overall elegant vibe. The food is meat-hearty in the Alsatian style, but there are ample fish and vegetarian offerings as well, and the desserts are always outstanding. (It is hearty enough that some friends in the neighborhood sometimes share a single meal at the bar while drinking wine.)
The food here is always delicious, traditional and plentiful. Don’t miss the complimentary gougeres (cheese puffs). Our server was lovely and the atmosphere feels super authentic.
Very nice spot, excellent food and solid service. Highly recommend the tartar appetizer and the crepe dessert. Fish main (trout) was a little less incredible, but still very good. A pleasant, unpretentious spot for a relaxed but moving meal.

Beautiful spot for a winters night catch up with a friend. Our waiter on 1/22 was a complete delight.
My wife and I have eaten here many times. Food was “tired”. Scallops may have been frozen. Did not have a very ocean fresh taste or texture. Mussels and sauce did not have much flavor. Appetizers did not sparkle. Food not terrible but not very good either.
Fantastic place but a little cramped.
Requested a particular table when I made the reservations when we got there at 5.15 PM, with the restaurant not even half full the table was given away to others they offered us a table behind the table we wanted, this table was the smallest table in the place and the most uncomfortable table I have ever had dinner at. Our bill for 3 close to $400.00 you would think they could have kept out requested table for us. I understand that the requests are just that a request, but the restaurant was empty when we arrived not even half full. Anyway, everything else was great and will return only not to that table ever.
Great food and service. Not oppressively expensive like other NY French restaurants yet equally satisfying. Has a $28 prefix for pre-theater!
The alsatian sections was great. I had 2 sausages with all the trimmings. Good wine and great beer selections. Waiter was great.
