   We love Chalkboard in Tulsa, so we were excited when they came to OKC. Its one of our go-to restaurants for great food and service. Justin took excellent care of us. We topped off the night with Brandy Ice and it was delicious!

   Our experience was very underwhelming. It took 15-20 minutes to be greeted after we had been seated. It took another 15 minutes to receive our drink order and it was not super busy at the time. We found the food to be lackluster. We ordered a variety of options too. The shrimp cocktail was served on a huge bowl of sonic ice and lacked presentation and flavor. The sushi was okay. The beef Wellington bites were eh and do not even bother ordering the side of mashed potatoes. They will serve it like a scoop of ice cream in a bowl that reminded me of school lunch back in the day. We both agreed there was no need to go back. I never leave reviews but felt like this was necessary after spending $130.00. Very disappointing.

   The ambience of the restaurant is great. The food was just okay, but what really ruined our experience was our waiter, Justin. He was very rude to our table and while interacting with the other tables around us. He was argumentative and unapologetic about our food taking so long. Our drink order alone took 40 minutes to receive. He was incredibly obnoxious and condescending when we asked questions about the menu.

   We have been to the Chalkboard a few times now...it is quickly becoming one of our go-to places. Took friends this time that hadn't been there...they loved it. Food was excellent (short ribs), good wine list and outstanding service. Treat yourself to this place.

   This was our second visit. The first was fantastic with really great tasting food. This time we took friends after telling them how great it was, but this time was totally different. The salads were good. The salmon entree was mediocre, but the braised ribs dish was bad. It was in a bowl with vegetables in broth. The meat was not tender. The "whipped" potatoes were not whipped. And the desert was mediocre. It was a total turnaround from when we were there in December. Our server was really good, jovial, and interacting well with our table. That was the high point of the evening. It's in a great location with good decor and ambiance, but something happened between the end of December and the end of March. Our future plans will probably not include The Chalkboard Kitchen.

    We have had brunch at this restaurant several times and were always pleased with the food. Went for lunch and were disappointed with the food. One of us had the turkey Ruben, one the French dip and the other 2 had burgers. The burger patties were quite small compared to the size of the bun but were otherwise okay. Both the turkey Ruben and the French dip were very small compared to what is served in other OKC restaurants. The Ruben had very little meat, cheese or dressing. The French dip has very little meat on it and was mostly bread. All served with a generous amount of fries which sadly were greasy and not crisp. Overall, the food was mediocre. The service was good and the restaurant is pleasant, with comfortable seating. Recommend it for brunch but not for lunch.
