Sea bass and duck were exceptional! Caramel rice pudding and olive oil lemon cake were equally good. Our only complaint: Hard to have a conversation b/c of noise, but perhaps our table location had something to do with that. Service could not have been better. So delighted to have discovered this wonderful restaurant so near our neighborhood! Highly recommend.
Amazing meal again at Cafe Colline. New menu items - Mediterranean fish soup and fresh mint ice cream - are not to be missed!
Cafe Colline is the go-to for special occasions. It’s the intersection of fine-dining and casual ambiance. I had the cheeseburger and it’s the best along with the best frites around. La cachat is fantastic and the pot de crème is a must have.
fun place with excellent food and service!!
we will be back
Fish soup just OK. Loup de Mare - excellent as usual. Pot du Creme - yummy. Solid service, but lmt wine selections.
A little slice of Paris not to be missed. Monkfish was the star of the show as was the escargot. Service was perfect and having a ringside seat to the open kitchen was a treat.
Nice bistro ambience decor (though the tables themselves could stand an upgrade). Service started slow but once the waiter found us, he was very good. All the meals (pasta, mussels, and croque monsieur) were excellent, including a very nice lemon dessert. Found the prices (including for a glass of wine) were a bit too steep but they gave us a glass of champagne on the house b/c it was a birthday celebration so there is that too consider as well. Fun place, great addition to the neighborhood and will happily go back.
Enjoyed delicious mussels and frites on their delightful back patio, this was my first visit and I will definitely be back to this neighborhood gem!
Good creative menu with something for everyone. Have been to Cafe Colline about 8 to 10 times and every time it was excellent. Great food and staff. Wait staff is very helpful.
Excellent food. I like the simplicity of the menu- the Pate is wonderful. So happy to have this gem right down the street!
Sea bass exceptional. Such a cute, romantic diamond in the rough. Love this sweet place.
Always excellent service, always spot on execution.
What we've always needed in Arlington is a true neighborhood place, that's equal parts elegant and comforting. Cafe Colline is that. I ran into several friends while dining there on a random Tuesday, and had a lovely, catch-up meal with another friend, but would have felt equally at home & taken care of if we had been celebrating something that evening. The food is marvelous, the service friendly. Just perfect, all around.
Simply stated, one of the best new restaurants in the DMV.
We've eaten at Cafe Colline a few times and it never disappoints. They deliver the classics beautifully and throw in modern elements along the way. The space is cozy and really makes you feel like you've been transported to France. Can't wait to go back!
We were seated S soon as was walked in. The lively Holly then took care of us. Wine choice was served. Min meal was timely and delicious.
Was a perfect Wednesday night neighborhood night out
Similar to other reviews, the pricing is high. The food was good, but could have been a bit less salty.
I have been here twice and both experiences have been great. The French onion soup is amazing. The flavors in the dishes are well thought out and work well together. The salmon entree was very good. The second visit tried the CROQUE MADAME which I still think about. The service is very good and our waiter has been helpful in ordering. Like the bistro vibe and decor. Definitely recommend.
excellent food - wow!
disappointed with the wine (especially the small pour size).
I think the waiter noticed and comp'd us on our second glass, but should have gotten it right the first time
I really enjoyed everything about Cafe Colline. I am looking forward to returning soon.
Really special neighborhood spot. Beautiful interior, excellent food, large portions, and personable service. I’m looking forward to coming back often.
Everything was outstanding
Onion Soup was superb. We also all got sea bass and we all loved it.
Great little restaurant. Food is lovely. Rated service at 4 rather than 5 because they were almost too attentive. Wonderful otherwise!
The food and the service were wonderful. The staff were sloppily dressed in Levi's, etc. The salad and entree were delicious, the service was nice, and all four of us enjoyed our meal. We plan to come again.
An excellent find! Great service, atmosphere and the food was fantastic. Went my first time for my lady’s and I’s anniversary, l could not have hoped for a nicer experience! Thoroughly recommend!
The dinner was wonderful from start to finish with excellent service and outstanding food! I look forward to going back again soon.
This is a an elevated expression of the neighborhood bistro. Limited menu (mains, wine), but everything that is there is expertly executed and chosen. Brilliant for our neighborhood to have such a place, and worth the drive if you are looking for a really wonderful cafe experience.
Excellent food in generous, but not overwhelming portions. Excellent service.
Server was terrific. We ate outside in front.
The food was delicious except for the fact that is was overly salted.
Food: steaks done perfectly, but meat seemed tough; salmon was fine, nothing special; duck was excellent. Portions were ample.
Service: pleasant; strained for lack of enough staff.
Ambiance: tasteful; unremarkable; a full house gets pretty noisy.
Parking: very good, both in the front and back of the restaurant.
IMHO: good place for lunch; not a good place to mark a special occasion. Trying too hard to be gourmet, and not quite making it.
The food is great. We were rushed to finish our meal before we were done. The noise level is very high.
Loved our first visit to Cafe Collins previously, but a little disappointed with the service and ambiance yesterday.
Amazing food, awesome service — such a gem!
We went here to celebrate our anniversary. The food was excellent. Good selection of French wines. Wonderful salads and perfectly cooked sea bass and salmon.
Tables were a little closer together than I would think prudent in this time of COVID19 and its delta variant.
The food choices are interesting and delicious…this was my 2nd visit ( a total of 7 meals, including multiple appetizers). Every single dish delighted the diner who ordered it. It is upscale for the neighborhood, but a welcome addition.
Love this neighborhood spot. We've eaten her at least 6 different times over the last 4 months, and the service is always outstanding, and the food is excellent. Hard to find a table without a reservation on the weekends, but there's usually bar seating.
While the food is great, it is not enough to make up for the rushed and rude service. The bartender was dismissive while we waited and the server was beyond terrible. We were polite and would of course have left a tip, but were disappointed to see that gratuity was automatically included on all checks. I get it, the pandemic is difficult and so it’s hard to find good help, but it is not difficult to be nice. Total shame!
Excellent meal, nice special occasion champagne to end it.
