my out of town friend thought it was a great addition to the NoVA dining experience
Brunch was perfect! Food is just delicious! A piece of Paris in Arlington.
Consistently wonderful. Seating a bit close and a bit on the loud side but don't let that stop you from visiting!
The food was succulent and the service was outstanding.
We love the food and have had the very best waiter every visit!
It does get a little noisy but it’s a small wonderful restaurant
Birthday celebration- very enjoyable evening
Cafe Colline is truly a neighborhood gem. You can't beat the service and cuisine. A value meal to behold.
This place had delicious food. I have a gluten allergy. My server and the chef were extremely amazing about helping me avoid gluten. My friend and I were able to talk with each other and everyone was very friendly and competent. I would love to return!
We had an awful experience at Cafe Colline.
The host was extremely unfriendly and unwelcoming upon check in. Well, maybe she was having a bad day? Doesn’t like her job? Who knows, but she sat our party turned and as walking way mumbled what type of water we wanted. She returned shortly thereafter and informed us quite rudely “to be upfront you only have 1 hour and forty five minutes here.”
This is the only restaurant I know of that REQUIRES a smart phone to place your order. Unfortunately, 3 out of 4 of us in our party left our smart phones at home that night. We were told by the server that this is the ONLY way to order. ??
I’ll give this restaurant another 6 months max should they continue on this path.
Odd, inefficient and unfair seating situation—when we arrived (on time) we were told that “your table” was still in use but it appeared it would be available soon, yet another table for 2 was clearly open. Another couple entered while we were waiting and they were seated at the open table while we had to continue to wait. In all we probably waited about 10 minutes after the other couple was seated.
This is a great neighborhood place with excellent service
All of the dishes are Fantastic but the baked chicken is one of my favorites
Usually l’m seated in the main dining area, but this time, despite reserving way in advance, I was seated facing the kitchen auxiliary area and didn’t like it at all. It was drafty and noisy and service was slower than usual. I tried the poisson du jour, which was monkfish, and it was not as good as the sea bass always is- it was slightly over cooked and the accompanying Savoy cabbage was boring.
Excellent! We needed a place like this in Arlington!
Simply one of the best new restaurants in the MDV area. You have to book early. Not to be missed.
Great waiter; engaging and helpful
Great service, great food, convenient parking, lively atmosphere! Perfect!
Very attractive place the food was great and very very French
The dinner is always delicious and we love having the restaurant in our neighborhood
Absolutely wonderful experience. Great wine, fantastic mains but truly the shocking surprise was the bibb lettuce salad. The best I have ever had.
Everything was delicious and great wines by the glass. We’ll be back.
We visited Cafe Colline for the first time yesterday evening. What a gem in the neighborhood. The Cafe provided one of the best overall dining experiences we’ve had in a long time — anywhere.
The place is cute as can be. The French White walls. The marble-topped bar. The three comfy, tufted leather booths for two toward the back of the dining room. It all genuinely recalls a cafe on, say, Ile St. Louis.
Reflecting the simplicity of the dining room, the menu, too, is relatively simple, yet diverse. From starters, including a velvety and rich onion soup gratin, to entrees, including an incredibly tender and prepared-just-right steak (frites) with fries I’d be happy to eat every day and a veal stew that warrants bringing friends to try, to an olive oil cake that makes me wonder if any of the other desserts could possibly be as good, the kitchen delivers. I mean DELIVERS!
Way too many evenings out end with, “The food was good, but, oy, the service!” How fitting and fortunate that the service at Cafe Colline is so aligned with the atmosphere and food. It just sort of flowed. (I’m a sucker for a new set of flatware being placed on the table between courses form a cloth-lined tray.)
Though Cafe Colline is a neighborhood gem, it is worth the drive across the river or down 66.
Wonderful meal, great service from everyone, food served hot and perfectly prepared. This is a restaurant not to be missed .
I am so happy to have this wonderful French restaurant in my neighborhood. The food is consistently perfect.
At first waiter was kind of short with us, but as the meal continued he seemed more friendly. We did know of the 1-3/4 hour time limit but had just been served dessert when the host came to hurry us along. We were not taking an excessive amount of time, but the time it took for food to come and for us to eat. Overall the quality of the food was very good (Pots de Creme could have been a bit more chocolaty) as were the wines.
The cooking staff was completely unmasked. It was extremely crowded and densely packed; it's the least safe I've felt since Covid. And it was really, really, really loud. Good food and nice service, but I won't eat inside again for a while.
We waited for over an hour for our food.
Love this local spot!
Very accommodating wait staff, thank you!
Sea bass and duck were exceptional! Caramel rice pudding and olive oil lemon cake were equally good. Our only complaint: Hard to have a conversation b/c of noise, but perhaps our table location had something to do with that. Service could not have been better. So delighted to have discovered this wonderful restaurant so near our neighborhood! Highly recommend.
Amazing meal again at Cafe Colline. New menu items - Mediterranean fish soup and fresh mint ice cream - are not to be missed!
Enjoyed a wonderful meal and had stellar service - the best service we’ve had there so far!
Cafe Colline is the go-to for special occasions. It’s the intersection of fine-dining and casual ambiance. I had the cheeseburger and it’s the best along with the best frites around. La cachat is fantastic and the pot de crème is a must have.
fun place with excellent food and service!!
we will be back
Fish soup just OK. Loup de Mare - excellent as usual. Pot du Creme - yummy. Solid service, but lmt wine selections.
A little slice of Paris not to be missed. Monkfish was the star of the show as was the escargot. Service was perfect and having a ringside seat to the open kitchen was a treat.
Nice bistro ambience decor (though the tables themselves could stand an upgrade). Service started slow but once the waiter found us, he was very good. All the meals (pasta, mussels, and croque monsieur) were excellent, including a very nice lemon dessert. Found the prices (including for a glass of wine) were a bit too steep but they gave us a glass of champagne on the house b/c it was a birthday celebration so there is that too consider as well. Fun place, great addition to the neighborhood and will happily go back.
Enjoyed delicious mussels and frites on their delightful back patio, this was my first visit and I will definitely be back to this neighborhood gem!
Good creative menu with something for everyone. Have been to Cafe Colline about 8 to 10 times and every time it was excellent. Great food and staff. Wait staff is very helpful.
Excellent food. I like the simplicity of the menu- the Pate is wonderful. So happy to have this gem right down the street!
