Service was great and very accommodating! The restaurant is good for groups and anyone with strict dietary preferences (we had a few in our party with gluten, dairy, allium restrictions). We went for group brunch and would recommend the burger and poached eggs with squash latkes and avocado hollandaise. Great cocktail and mocktail selection. Highly recommend!
The portions were smaller than expected, which for some of the people in our party was a bit disappointing.
Well prepared and healthy!
My friends hosted a 10 person dinner party here for my birthday and it was spectacular. Service was impeccable, food is amazing for those that have multiple food allergies (like me) and the atmosphere is buzzy but relaxed. Was a wonderful, wonderful experience!
Food was not good. Roaringly loud. Nice staff. Obnoxious crowd of young strivers. Wouldnt go back.
Lovely dinner with farm fresh food — peach cobbler was to die for!
If you live in neighborhood and you want a healthy choicein restaurant meal it is a 4.
It's nice to have an upscale restaurant in the W. Village. The decor here was wonderful, the service people attentive. The bar looked fantastic. The menu was a bit pretentious. I had a burger, which was all right.
Good, healthy food with interesting sauces. Lots of vegetarian options. Service was quick and efficient. An ideal spot -- lunch or dinner -- for a healthy meal.
We went for brunch and found the menu very well done and the food was well-prepared and tasty. Nice variety of breakfast foods, although don’t expect huge portions. I think the portion sizes are fine, but some places really over-fill their plates (and customers).
I was unsure why it was so easy to get an outdoor reservation on such short notice on a gorgeous evening. I now understand. I had a salad with melon that was strange tasting to say the least. My Hake entree was overcooked, cold and generally not good. My date had a gnocchi dish that was passable. Overall, the outdoor seating area is lovely but the food is, quite frankly, bad.
The noise (owing mostly to screeching, squealing, yammering diners) was borderline intolerable.
Excellent choice and great venue
Café clover was great… The cuisine was super innovative… I love the way they sautéed the calamari with legumes, never had it that way before it was excellent… The only problem is the dishes were way too small for sharing… They could be a little bit more generous on the servings… The peach cobbler was an excellent choice to end a meal!
Always consistent good food!
Great food & service
Delicious fresh food with lots of options for vegans and vegetarians
Wonderful experience. Great at dealing with food intolerances. Everything was delicious.
Food and service was excellent. The decor was tastefully done. Noise level was a bit high to my liking.
Dinner was great. We all ate primarily the vegetarian dishes and they were great. I love the homemade sesame and nut crackers with the miso spread! Service was great this time. Check did not come before I requested. It’s really a fun and reliably good place to eat lunch or supper. It’s becoming my neighborhood favorite since NoHo Star closed. No matter who I invite there’s always something they’ll enjoy.
Fantastic brunch spot!
My husband and I ate at Cafe Clover for the first time in Saturday. It was delicious, healthy, and charming. We sat outdoors. Our service was excellent. Both meals and cocktail were delicious. Will be back.
Great location, and lovely to be outside. The service is lackluster, though, and while there are a lot of staff around, when you need something (like finding a way to get your table to stop wobbling or getting a definitive answer about an ingredient), it can be surprisingly difficult to get assistance.
Everything was so healthy, exotic, unique. Amazing experience with an even more amazing selection.
Excellent food and service!
Came here last night and not only was the food impeccable but the service was even better. The manager checks in with you as well as helps serve the guests. The wait staff constantly checked in making sure everyone was served and pleased. The food is unreal and the drinks were made to perfection. Beautiful atmosphere as well.
Waiter forgot beer. Summer melon salad consisted of unripened melon and 2 slices of heirloom tomatoes, one with the core still in it. Tasteless. Hummus fritters- tasteless. Tuna crudo was low grade tuna and olives from a jar. Shrimp dumplings were good. Over $120 with tip. An incredibly forgettable expensive dinner. We’ll never go back.”
I love the food here and have been numerous times. I brought a friend and it was her first time. Unfortunately I was so embarrassed by the incredibly awful awful service. We sat there for 2 hours for dinner and that was not because we were just talking. It was because we had zero service. I will go back because I love the food but I will be sure to request sitting in a different section if I see the same waiter we had (or didn’t have.) There is no excuse for a waiter to ignore a table. None. Maybe because we weren’t drinking and thought his tip would be small? Our tab was still $75. We left a small tip but should have left nothing. It’s too bad because I’m sure my friend will not return. I will because I know how enjoyable the place can be on other occasions.
A group of my friends are I met for brunch. It was my suggestion that we done at Cafe Clover. I had been there before and loved it.
I went with my husband for lunch and we had a nice light lunch. The manager was very accomodating when we asked for a table outside and he suggested a beautiful wine. Definitely my favorite place for any occasion - a girls dinner, date night, spontaneous lunch. The menu is also great for any GF, dairy allergies which is a great plus! Never disappoints!
Awesome. Delicious. Fun
Staff was friendly and courteous.
Restaurant week was a great way to be introduced to Cafe Clover. My friend and I had a lovely time, creative healthy dinner. The staff was lovely. Ps: The skinny margarita is a must have :-)
I absolutely love finding gems in The Village and Cafe Clover definitly fit the bill. The ambiance is very chic with a semi dark, sexy approach. The patio is great if you're lucky enough to score seating outside.
They have a nice cocktail selection to include skinny choices for those that want less sugar, several cool non alcoholic choices and seasonal drinks that include my favorite, frozen rose.
I was not a big fan of the beet dip they bring for the table, however, I was a huge fan of the shrimp dumplings! The clover mezze was just ok, as some of the dips lacked seasoning.
For our main course, we chose the seed crusted salmon that was cooked to perfection and the chicken paillard that was also delicious. Dessert consisted of the peach crumble that was similar to a peach cobbler but on the lighter side. The chocolate cake was also very good and also very rich.
Thanks Edgar for providing us with excellent and attentive service.
I went for restaurant week. Cafe Clover has a great vibe - the bar area and dining room are both relaxed yet sophisticated. The soft palette and lighting are really nicely done.
The food was AMAZING! The chickpea spaghetti was incredible.
Like the setting g and the food, the service was impressive too!
You will not regret a visit to Cafe Clover!
Perhaps it goes with the territory for restaurant week, but our waiter was utterly inattentive and inhospitable. Beyond this he was what I'd call smarmy and was basically checked out. I ordered salmon crudo (so fishy and cut too thick, too much IMO), bison so gristly we had trouble cutting it with serrated steak knives. I couldn't chew mine and had to spit it in my napkin. Think you can't ruin a peach crumble? Think again. My friend enjoyed her melon salad and her dessert I think. Bussers were skilled and pleasant. Generally, tho, lackluster, not delicious, dismissive service ... other than that, it was great.
I have been to cafe clover for lunch and enjoyed my meal there but for some reason when I had dinner there the other night it really missed the mark. From the moment we arrived (the hostess was in the bathroom and took a long time for us to even get seated) they seemed under staffed and overwhelmed. It took a long time to get our waiter to bring us anything; bread and water to start, then the drinks all came out at different times, the main entrees were cold and then it also took a while for the check. The food was truly mediocre- the two fish we split were over cooked and the salads lacked flavor and freshness. It wasn’t terrible but I can say with confidence I will probably never be back given how many great restaurants there are in nyc. Too bad!
Everything was sub-par. The service, the food and the value. We were extremely disappointed.
My family was celebrating my daughter’s birthday. She loves going to Cafe Clover. We had a lovely time.
The employees were very kind. Food was healthy ingredients and fresh!
