Overall enjoyed our experience. The food was good, the service was excellent, but the restaurant was too loud.
Had a very quiet lunch by myself. Despite the room being virtually empty, the waiters were sparse. The appetizer was delivered at the same time as the main meal without explanation or apology. Despite that, the cauliflower tostada was delightful and the shawarma chicken was tasty, if a little tough. All in all though, didn't feel like a guest here, more like an intrusion. Such a warm room - such cold service.
I had a wonderful experience in cafe clover. They were participating in restaurant week, and the food was amazing. The space was very beautiful, and the service was very friendly. Overall a great experience. Will definitely be back!
This was my first time dining at cafe clover. I went with two friends prior to seeing a film at IFC, which is just two blocks away. We were all thoroughly delighted by both the food and service. In fact, this was, by far, the best service I have experienced in years. The staff is friendly, attentive and genuine. I have already made plans to go back.
Excellent food. You can taste the love and attention that goes into the sourcing and curation.I’ve had the Branzino the last two visits and it’s excellent. The cocktails also hit the spot. The only downside to dinner was guy next to me sharing the intimate details of his gym workout....
Food was appalling. Manager’s excuse was that the food was poor due to understaffing because of the nice weather outside. Was not compensated — just given a silly excuse. I will not being going back again.
The food was good if overpriced a touch. It was realllllllly loud for a 7:30PM Saturday dinner.
Best experience ever ,feel good to enter to a beautiful restaurant with the top of customer service and quality of food and ingredient are above and beyond.
Very good food. Lots of flavor. I had the salmon and Apple and Pear Crumble for dessert and would recommend both.
Great ambiance and service. Didn’t love any of the dishes we ordered.
The food was really terrible. I’ve been there before and it was totally different. It looked like they didn’t even try. The waffle I ordered was really soggy and and tasteless. Even the presentation of the dish was horrible. Just grey and soggy.
My friends’ s eggs with chips weren’t much better. It we under seasoned and blah. For the prices, it was definitely not worth it.
The decor was still pretty and the server was pretty good tho I felt slightly rushed. (Even tho there were many empty tables of two)
Love duet healthy and flavorful
The ambiance was nice. The food however was subpar. We had to send 2 entrées back that were not cooked as requested. Someone else in our party asked for a side of cheese for her food by the time it arrived her food was cold.
Intimate and very well done healthy bites to share or have on your own.
Great spot to meet up with a friend! Great service and food came quickly! Will definitely be visiting again.
We had a lovely lunch with great food and service
Warm and welcoming, the food is high quality and prepared with care. Prices are commensurate with the quality of the ingredients used.
Great food! Loved it!
Food selection limited lately and quite expensive for mainly vegetarian options.
Good innovative and seasonal food. The squash latkes were delicious. Nice space especially in summers when the side is open. The only thing that could improve is sound-proofing and service staff to be more forthcoming (served me a different bear than on the menu without first asking and then serving very good bread with cold butter).
It was the best birthday ever!
They got us complimentary deserts, my year (now decade)
will be so sweet!
I just moved to NYC after 3 years of long distance with my girlfriend. Given that it was out 7th anniversary, I wanted to make sure I took her to a nice restaurant to celebrate living in the same place once again. After much research, I decided to make a reservation at Cafe Clover.
From the moment we arrived, the staff seemed like they were trying to rush us out the door. The server asked us if we were ready to order 4-5 times within the first 10 minutes of being at the table. Even with my girlfriend and I trying to slow down their pace, we were in and out of the restaurant in under an hour after ordering drinks, an appetizer, our main plates, and a dessert.
The food itself was subpar and the two drinks we ordered were both very mediocre. Overall, it was devastating for me to spend so much time researching the perfect restaurant to celebrate a life milestone only to be so disappointed with the result. I will not be going back.
We split the grilled cheese and avocado sandwich, as well as
the fig pizzella... leaving room for dessert. Our waitperson was j
attentive. We had a lovely meal!!
We were a party of 5 and the ambience, food and service have been excellent will definitively visit it again when I’m next time in town
Cafe Clover has quickly become one of my favorite spots in the city. The service is outstanding, every dish I have had there has been perfection, and the atmosphere is perfect for any occasion. Can’t wait to come back!
3 generations for brunch. Food was well prepared and very tasty. Our server was excellent- very helpful and took good care of us.
We really enjoyed Cafe Clover! It was possibly our favorite restaurant in New York! The hemp seed and berries biscuits were fabulous! We ordered a second order! Would highly recommend Cafe Clover!
Lov it! Always healthy!
Roberto and all the team were exceptional in making certain we were attended to on every level. Cauliflower risotto was beyond as were many of the other dishes.
Great place but pricey for the value.
Had an incredible experience with our friends who were getting married. We wanted to surprise them with a nice dinner and we truly had an amazing experience. Adil, the manager, and his staff made it extra special. The food was outstanding for the price point and the service was impeccable. I LOVED their twist on the calamari and my risotto was excellent. I’ve been to Cafe Clover many times and it keeps on suppress me by getting better. Great night!
Darling place! Delicious food and drinks! We were there early so, no noise and great service
Very beautiful place with a lot of potential, but not at all up to NYC standards. Very expensive for small portions, and mediocre food at best. Flat bread had a stale taste. Food that should have been hot was warm or even cold. Unfortunate experience at a big cost.
Healthy, interesting, delicious menu in a relaxed, spare space.
This is my second time visiting. The first time I ate here, I thought it was good -- not great, but still good. The second time, however, I ordered a lemonade that never arrived and my burger was extremely overcooked. I definitely didn't enjoy it this second time around so I'll likely drop it from my list of restaurants.
Everything was fabulous, four stars for value as the portions are small (I get it; it’s enough, but it feels like maybe it’s not).
The cuisine lacked inspiration. I had a simple Cobb salad. The ingredients did not taste fresh and tasted more like a pre-made salad to-go. Definitely didn’t warrant the $22 price. I won’t be going back nor am I recommending. Perhaps stop by for a drink as the interior is nice. However don’t go for a meal. There are 1000s of great places to eat in Manhattan. This isn’t one.
This restaurant is great-- good, healthy food from a point of view, accommodating of dietary restrictions, pretty good service, nice ambiance, and I think pretty well-priced for the quality. However, it's extremely loud, even by NYC standards. It's not even music, it's just the noise of everyone's conversations is crazy in there. It's the same at any time of day, in my experience.
