What Insiders Are Saying
A bright, California-inspired West Village restaurant.
Cute brunch spot with warm, fun vibe, and good sunlight. Food was really great. Would recommend the poached eggs and lavender waffles.
They overcharged us and luckily we caught it.
This restaurant is beautiful - the service was great and food came out fast, and the food was really delicious! I'm vegan and the server was very helpful in identifying exactly which items on the menu are vegan.
Very nice atmosphere, with people of all ages, good service and very good food. Highly recommended.
Healthy food choices prepared imaginatively, lovely ambience, very loud when crowded.
Disappointing. Service was really off. Started with our waiter informing us we couldn't put in an appetizer order while enjoying drinks because that would "throw off" the kitchen and we needed to order everything all at once. Then we were served the wrong entrees twice. The coconut curry entree was not good and 3 of us had ordered it - very little substance and totally not worth the price.
This was disappointing because I've had great lunches here twice.
One of my best meals in NYC!
LOVE THIS PLACE
Semi annual trip to NYC. Always love coming here!!
The quality of the food is important. Cafe Clover has a focus on where they source the food. We vote with our money. Supporting restaurants, and farmers that have natural sustainable practices is what I believe in too.
My favorite brunch in the city!!!!!
Their Lavender waffle is amazing- it’s just an added plus that it’s Gluten Free! They are always sooo welcoming and friendly.
Another five star night at Cafe Clover! Brought my friend in town from London and he hasn’t stopped talking about wanting to bring it there. Thanks for helping me impress. Persimmon carpaccio FTW!
I went to Cafe Clover with friends on President's Day. The restaurant is super cute and it was nice and quiet. We split 2 pizzettes (mushroom/ricotta and kale/prosciutto) as well as a bowl. The food looked lovely but was just alright. We asked to add chicken to our bowl and it was left off. I'd love to go back and try their brunch menu which looks delicious but don't feel inclined to return unless its convenient!
Family in town
We have a fabulous table in the corner with an outstanding server. The food was wonderful and my party was very happy.
Great atmosphere, great service and good flavor. This is not the place to come super hungry as the portions are on the small side, but if you are looking for a light meal you won't feel bad about and maybe a cocktail this is the place to go. To me the price is a little high for what you get but I'm also a repeat customer. So I guess you can say the price isn't so outrageous I don't keep coming back!
First time trying this establishment. Dined on a Saturday evening - 7:30 so restaurant was full.
Appetizers and desert delicious and service top notch.
Entree's were "okay" - nothing out of the ordinary.
Never felt rushed which is always a welcome change on a Saturday evening
Hip, handsome place tucked away incognito in a this narrow streeted west village neighborhood.... interesting tasty clean vegetarian options, home made kombucha made for delicious mocktail, creative beer selection by bottle though, pricey wine list guess everyone is drinking pinot noir these day$$$ ? ....friendly servers & bar tender, quick service, very busy place..... we were glad we found it...
The restaurant was convenient, but the tables were packed, the room noisy and the service slow. One side dish we ordered did not come, but did (at no charge) late. The portions were smaller than the typically small size we prefer.
Wondeeful, fun place with great selection of food for brunch.
Food was excellent but it was terribly noisy and dark. Have gone here for years and this was the worst ambience. Don’t think we’ll ever return again.
Not the greatest night out - I've been here before and enjoyed the food, drinks, and atmosphere way more. Disappointed that I chose this as our Valentines day dinner.
The prix fix valentines menu was great except for the main course. A nice combo of options that were brought out in almost jarring speed. The lobster entree however was overly salty and the lobster tail was a rubbery. Staff and ambiance are both great. I eat there often and I think it’s better on a usual night than a special occasion menu.
Valentine's Day prefixe dinner left something to be desired for a vegan person. Too high a price for too little food. Otherwise, I usually enjoy my experience here
Such a wonderful evening. My cousin and I like to meet for dinner and talk for hours over good food in a calm setting. Clover delivered ten times over. The service was perfect the food was outstanding! Thank you!
We were a party of 6 and everyone fully enjoyed their meal and their experience at Cafe Clover! The food was creative and delicious - fabulous flavors and beautiful presentation!
First time in US and in NYC. Clover was perfect place to have bruns
Great restaurant and service. Always a pleasure to be there...
The experience was so disappointing, and the dishes were hit or miss. My friend’s fish entree was very dry, my buckwheat pasta was good but boring. The chocolate dessert was good, but we only had a few bites of the panna cotta we ordered bc it was not good, really lacking flavor.
Truly delicious clean food and the server Ricky was so sweet. I’m going back!
It was my first time dining at café clover, I have to say that I’m happily impressed. Great ambiance, friendly service and very clean fresh food
Love this restaurant. One of my favorite downtown. Beautiful room, beautiful food, great vibe. Even on a rainy Wednesday night the room was lively. I go often for lunch but dinner was a particular treat. Try all the vegetable sides!
Have been coming to Clover for years - have always loved the room and being able to eat healthy without having to commit to vegan. Noticed a new menu online so came for a late dinner to try some things and loved every dish. Calamari and radicchio salad to start were fresh and delicious. Gluten free pasta with watercress/pistachio pesto and roast chicken both perfect. Room was buzzing and fun.
This place is a hidden gem on the border of soho and the west village. I went for dinner after work, sat at the bar, and had an A+ experience. Wait staff was the perfect amount of friendly and attentive. Service was incredible. The food came quickly and they were able to accommodate my many dietary needs. Everything on the menu looked delicious. I had the beet ravioli and I can’t stop thinking about it! Menu changes seasonally so be sure to ask your server what’s in season. Enjoy!
By far the best healthy restaurant in New York. I eat here 2-3x a week and when I don't, I order in. So many great new dishes on the menu...three delicious, gluten free pastas that we shared. Beet Gnocchi was incredible. Service was attentive but non intrusive.
Although the ambiance is beautiful, the food was so mediocre. The same applies to the deserts too...
Great food with lots of vegetarian friendly options which makes this great. However the restaurant gets loud and the prices are a bit higher than average. You'll leave feeling full though!
The nicoise salad was disgusting. It tasted extremely bitter and was difficult to stomach.
Absolutely fantastic experience. We ended up staying for hours- from apps to dessert, my two friends and I were inlvoe. Our waiter was phenomenal, the bartenders let us stay and finish our conversation even after the restaurant was technically closed for the night. The food was superior. Really outstanding nyc dinner experience.
Spotty quality. Feels like chef’s designed a menu and then left to start another project and the cooking is done by trainees. Not a consistent level of quality I’d expect at this high price point. Menu needs refreshed and some renewed attention to detail. Living on reputation at this point.
