A grand café in the classic Parisian tradition, Café Centro is one of Midtown's most popular restaurants.
View Private Dining DetailsYear after year this restaurant delivers. Always reliable with a very attentive and professional staff.
Great place for a business breakfast. Convenient location, great food and service.
Excellent Midtown Restaurant
Very good staff. Good lunch menu. Pleasant for lunch with small or larger group. (I haven't tried dinner.) Ask for quieter back room. A pleasure to find such good customer service.
Centro Cafe is a great place to have a meal when you are near Grand Central terminal. We use Metro North when visiting NYC and like to plan to have dinner here before going home. The food is outstanding a and a great value.
Omlette nothing special. Poached better. No butter given w toast
My go-to midtown spot for business luncheons. The food is even better than tasty, presented well, great service with an attentive management staff.
Good food and service. Good wine list. Reasonable prices.
Amazing food and service
Always a good meal!
A mini-family reunion was enhanced by the ambiance and great service. It’s gotten a lot pricier, though, so be prepared.
We often go to Cafe Centro for lunch with friends. It is quietly elegant; service is refined (Thank you, Alandro.) The kitchen turns out truly luscious dishes. Don't change a thing.
I truly love the food and service
It’s my go to local restaurant
Excellent as usual !!!
Had a wonderful table by the windows, delicious meal and excellent service. Our go to place in midtown.
The perfect lunch spot on a busy work day. Great staff, good food, fast service.
Café Centro is very conveniently located as I work in the Met Life Building. Early dinners are great for more quiet conversation. The service is always excellent as is the food. The scallops are my favorite.
Very nice restaurant. Reservation honored right away. Food and service excellent. Very nice menu.
I have always considered cafe centro as one of the best value in NYC. However,I do not know why but each time I go there, they want to stick me in the side dining room even if the main room is almost empty . I complained each time and usually they give me a seat in the main room...
My husband and I eat dinner out about three times a week. We have gone to Café Centro off and on over the last ten plus years given its amazingly convenient location at GCT. Food has always been OK, as well as the service. However, during this last visit, the food was exceptionally good--Bibb salad with feta, filet mignon, grilled salmon and a superb, moderately priced Syrah. The service, similarly, was exceptional. The waitress was very good. However, I have to give a huge shout out to the sommelier who, not only gave me excellent advice on a moderately priced wine (which I always appreciate) but also helped to move us to table by the window when a large group of people wearing VERY STRONG perfume sat down beside us. Do know, we have never requested to be moved before at any restaurant. The sommelier saw us trying to do so ourselves, immediately stepped in and facilitated the move to a lovely spot. He was extremely gracious and we were extremely appreciative. So, great food, wine and service. Will start going to Café Centro more frequently now for dinner.
Our butter had a long hair in it and when we brought it to the attention of the waiter, he apologized, however, we would have expected more.
This restaurant is a solid breakfast place, with good service and very good food. Efficient as well as it's in Grand Central.
Great service and manager came to table and brought us extra sides - which were phenomenal!
Great meal!
Menu covers a lot of different choices making it easy even for the pickiest eater to have a good meal.
Convenient Grand Central location, good service, and good food.
Took too long to get the bill, otherwise, great.
Consistent high quality Dining.
The salmon tartare and croque monsieur were terrific. But for some reason we were seated in an ancillary room when the main room was almost empty. Ask to sit near the fireplace!
The food tasted just like similar dishes in France. The server and manager went out of their way to accommodate special requests.
Monk fish was superb
Good restaurant for business meals in Midtown Manhattan.
Get the skinny fries! I had the Beef Bourguignon, which was tasty but not at all what I expected. Large hunk of meat with a delicious red wine sauce, a few veggies, and homemade noodles beside. (I am used to a more stew-like preparation.) My friend had the steak tartare, which he said was delicious (I don't do tartare, so I couldn't say!), and our other friend had the lobster risotto, which was great as well. Everyone ate the fries that came with the tartare!
Pre-theater dinner at this always reliable restaurant. The salmon was perfectly prepared. The French white wine selections are a bit limited. We were in and out in just over an hour, and didn’t feel at all rushed. Cafe Centro remains on the preferred list.
I had the most fabulous waiter who was wonderful since I had to wait for my daughter. He let me taste the wine he picked out for me and it was delicious. I love this restaurant and go to it often.
Service was wonderful. Special truffle ravioli special appetizer was underwhelming. Sauce was terrible
I had a pleasant dinner from the fixed price menu. I chose the roasted duck which I can recommend.
Food was good. Noise level too high
I really like the ambiance of this restaurant from the moment I step inside. On the two occasions that I've been there, the maitre d' came to our table with very helpful suggestions about wine options. Last time I enjoyed the monkfish on a bed of butternut squash and my friend had the ribeye steak. I look forward to my next visit so I can try other options!
Food and service were fantastic only it was very loud and a little hard to have a conversation - would definitely go again but not during 12-1:30 time frame. Been there for breakfast too, very good and not as loud as lunch.
