About Café Boulud
CAFÉ BOULUD features a French-American menu inspired by Chef Daniel Boulud's four culinary muses: la tradition, classic French cuisine; la saison, seasonal delicacies; le potager, the vegetable garden; and le voyage, the flavors of world cuisines.
In addition to dinner seven nights, we feature a $39 two-course prix-fixe lunch six days a week, and a $42 two-course prix-fixe brunch on Sundays. The restaurant is both a neighborhood gem and a destination for food lovers in search of casually elegant dining. Two private dining rooms seating 20 guests each are available for your private entertaining needs, and may be combined to accommodate 40.
The restaurant's adjacent BAR PLEIADES serves inventive cocktails and a luxurious bar menu from 3 pm onward.

Café Boulud Ratings and Reviews
AWFUL. AWFUL. I’ve been to this restaurant many times and had a much better experience. We waited 45 minutes for our reservation. The food was fair and the check almost $1000. Nothing compted for the outrageous wait. I’m booked for a truffle dinner at another Daniel Boulud next week and I’m thinking of canceling. You’ve lost my business guys. Amazingly embarrassing to have taken business guests.
Usually one of our favorites...not their best night.40 MIN delay to table, slow service on a busy friday night.Food was good, but not great.More expensive than in years past.No real apologies or further assistance.
Will need some work to get back to the level Daniel desires in his restaurants
Great ambiance, excellent service and first-rate cuisine is guaranteed at Cafe Boulud. The Bar Pleiades also is a great place to enjoy an atmospheric aperitivo. The wine list, however, is so overpriced, and so short of choices under $100 a bottle, that it is hard not to feel gouged. Without that harsh part of the experience, dining at Cafe Boulud would be thoroughly delightful in all respects.
We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving Day dinner.
Attention to detail
An unexpected surprise after dinner: guests were given picnic brown bags with turkey sandwich leftovers, cranberries and sweet potatoes and a special dessert muffin.
Our turkey for Thanksgiving was billed as heritage turkey, it had no taste. We thought it was smoked turkey that was served because they ran out of roasted turkey.
We were dissatisfied since we live where we can can get superior locally raised heritage Breed turkeys.
Went with my mother-in-law AND my step-mother-in-law so it was wonderful that the delicious and imaginative food took center stage. Their specials are often amazing and three of us ordered the short rib ravioli which was divinely delicious. Duck was also perfect. We found a wonderful Beaune which passed muster with the fussier in-law so everybody was happy.
Went for Sunday brunch. Lots of Park Avenue families were there, obviously some regulars with their Sunday Times and pancakes. It was crowded but not too loud. Generally on the dressier side of casual. Jackets over jeans and collared shirts. The food was delicious. The potato leek soup warmed the soul. Eggs Benedict was lovely. DH loved the duck confit. Very pleasant afternoon at brunch. Highly recommend it. As it was my birthday they wrote happy birthday on my molten chocolate cake, very nice touc!
My experience was absolutely wonderful. The host was very accommodating and our table was tucked away in a little alcove, so we avoided the noise of the rest of the room. Our waitress was so warm and took especially attentive care of us. And the food was absolutely phenomenal. It was a truly amazing experience that I couldn't rate any higher
Food is okay, but service isn’t great. First they called and said that they cannot hold the table if we cannot make it within 15 mins of the reservation. Then right after we finished dinner and paid the bill, a guy came to our desk and asked us to leave... sadly I would not recommend.
Really disappointing. Absurdly long waits for the main courses and no excuses or apologies until after we paid our very large bill. Under the circumstances the right thing would have been to Comp our entrees but nothing was offered other than an apology (“the kitchen was slammed, so sorry”). Won’t be returning.
What a treat for sunday brunch! Old school class and perfect food. Good portion sizes and lovely little extras from the restaurant - like warm madelines at the end. Couldn't fault the service either. The restaurant interior could do with a 'slight' spruce up - but I'll be back!
The restaurant was very quiet and yet it took 15 minutes to get my cappuccino. My eggs came out cooked wrong, we had to flag servers down to refill our coffee. Plus our food wasn't even hot-just lukewarm. Very disappointed but I think it was just an off day.
Cafe Boulud is a New York City gem. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary there on a Saturday evening. The service is very attentive, but not overly so. The timing and flow of the meal was absolutely perfect. The food is prepared to near perfection, and the ingredients are the definition of fresh. We started with the escargot, and it was easily one of the tastiest preparations I had ever enjoyed. You cannot go wrong with any dish. My wife and I both selected pasta-based main courses (she the ravioli, and me the gnocchi), which were both substantial in portion and delicious in taste. We elected to forgo dessert, yet the hostess brought us a complimentary dessert to celebrate our anniversary; a very nice touch! An incredible experience, and one we will repeat.
