I have only two issues with this place - high prices and the bread was not fresh. I would expect a really freshly baked famous French baguette at a restaurant of such a level. Otherwise a nice place to spend a quiet evening.
Great experience in the restaurant. Great service and quiet environment. I had the three course lunch menu and the appetizer was great and the fish in the main course was okay but the dessert was terrific! Seat was comfortable! I’ll definitely come back soon!
el mejor omelet que he probado...
Always a fantastic time. Best Lunch in New York City.
Our food was excellent. We chose to eat 'alla carte'. One of us had the char and the other the "duck confit". The dessert were very good too.
We absolutely love the prix fixe lunch menu! There were four of us and we sampled several choices and they were all fabulous. The wine pairing was also excellent. The service was perfect and it was quiet enough for a relaxed lovely lunch. Highly recommended.
Fabulous food. Fine dining. Beautiful setting.
Wonderful experience.
Exquisite, finest taste from start to finish, got happily surprised with the unexpected warm pastry : an memorable experience to share and renew “succulent”
A civilized and elegant spot for lunch. The food is delicious and while the service is good, it is not "stuffy".
Delicious!
Wonderful anniversary dessert!
It was exquisite. My husband loved the pork schnitzel. The warm madelines were out of Proust. A wonderful dining experiemce
Consistently wonderful dishes and superior service.
Very good classical French food and very good service. Casual but elegant. Menu always has a full section for Vegetarians so that it is an ideal upscale place to take guests to if some are vegetarians.
Everything is great
Brunch menu is very limited
Thanks
This is my second visit to Cafe Boulud in the last ten years. Dishes were fantastically made so I will definitely have to come back more often in the future.
Overall a wonderful dining experience! Service was great. I have a food allergy and they were very attentive and accommodating to my needs. Selection and quality of the food was wonderful! Highly recommend this restaurant!
Price fix weekend brunch for 52 dollars is wonderful. 3 course, which you can mix and match, with great choices. Staff are right on it making for a fab experience. Extensive wine list.
Saturday breakfast. Bit dated food but still high standards. The regulars are noisy and get most of the staff attention.
Food cooked to perfection. Romantic atmosphere. Impeccable service.
Fantastic service and food. We can’t stop talking about the experience! Especially the desert!
Good place with a fine price.
Great food but the service was slow and course timing was way off. Some wait staff was rude and pushy. For a $700 tab, we expected better all around.
Simply marvelous.... even on an impossible holiday live Valentines Day
Great spot
Outdated ambiance, over priced, and people love to stare at each other. It’s definitely a more older crowded that has nothing better to do than talk about everyone else there.
Yes, if my friend was wealthy and not too fussy. It should have been more special for Valentine's Day.
We arrived on Valentines Day for a 5pm reservation at 4:55. It seemed as if the pre-shift meeting was still going on because one of the captains recommended we wait in the hotel lobby until they were ready to seat us. This would not matter usually, staff meetings sometimes run over (especially with it being a holiday and all), but the lobby was SO cold it made the 15 minute wait seem like it was an hour.
We were then led to the first row of tables right by the entrance and given menus, and linens were still being ironed. The waitress (while very sweet and professional) took a little to get to our table, so the busboy took our drink orders. It is important to note that I explained my dining partners food aversions when I made the reservation, but the waitress seemingly needed to confirm that they were allergies (they were not) and that the menu would be presented as is, since they were simply just dislikes. *She doesnt eat raw fish or truffles, two pretty important items on this Valentines Day menu....ESPECIALLY for the amuse bouches.
On first glance, it seemed as if they were understaffed to start the service and only working with a skeleton crew. As the night progressed, more front of house members showed and service smoothed out. The thick curtain to keep the wind from the lobby was never fully closed, so I never took off my jacket.
Overall, we had a wonderful meal together, and the food was delicious. I am only writing because I would be doing myself a disservice to note that for $195 a person, I would not want these things to be overlooked at a 5 star establishment price point for a 3-4 star experience.
This was the most overpriced meal for small portions that I have ever experienced. My pal got a vegetable that had a small bit of chopped broccoli, a little spinach and a few mushrooms for $42! The tiny salad with four pistachios and no taste was $28. Never never would I return
First time dining at Café Boulud. It couldn't be any better from the moment we arrived at the restaurant until the end of meal. Great hospitality and service, exquisite dishes and nice ambience. Two thumbs way up. We will be back.
Cafe Boulud is simply.......wonderful!!! From the very moment you enter and meet the staff, you feel special. And then you eat glorious food and have a dining experience like no other, in our opinion. There is a comfortable elegance here and every dish was spectacular. From scrambled eggs with black truffles to seared scallops to lamb shanks to dessert, you will not be disappointed. While it is a bit expensive here, I checked "value" because of the quality of the food. Kudos!!!
I did ask for the duck to be medium well....it came out rare.....they took it back and re-fired but still not exactly what I wanted.
This is a special place. Always order more than one appetizer, dessert, and a cocktail if you drink. My favorite place.
I know that you can’t do anything about crying children but it does spoil the ambiance.
It’s was fantastic when you are going to Boulud cafe the desk and the service chaleureux aimable and professional
Overall was very nice, ambiance and food, drinks are extremely extensive. We had 2 Campari and the charge was $40, considering the glass was full of ice and very little Campari. Please! Use less ice. Thank you.
Excellent Service. I enjoyed the mushroom veloute.
It was just wonderful from the moment we entered. The Matre d was very friendly and made us feel very comfortable and of course very knowledgeable. The food was phenomenal and excellent service. It’s my new #1 restaurant in NYC and I’m telling everyone. It is well worth it.
Lovely service and special dishes as I have come to expect. Cheers to the staff.
Café Boulud is beyond outstanding! One of my favorite restaurants in New York.
Service wasn't great. We waited a long time for bread and we were never offered more bread later. The special NYC Restaurant Week was very limited. The food we ordered was very good but I would have like a bit more choice.
