Fantastic service and food. We can’t stop talking about the experience! Especially the desert!
Good place with a fine price.
Great food but the service was slow and course timing was way off. Some wait staff was rude and pushy. For a $700 tab, we expected better all around.
Simply marvelous.... even on an impossible holiday live Valentines Day
Outdated ambiance, over priced, and people love to stare at each other. It’s definitely a more older crowded that has nothing better to do than talk about everyone else there.
Yes, if my friend was wealthy and not too fussy. It should have been more special for Valentine's Day.
This was the most overpriced meal for small portions that I have ever experienced. My pal got a vegetable that had a small bit of chopped broccoli, a little spinach and a few mushrooms for $42! The tiny salad with four pistachios and no taste was $28. Never never would I return
First time dining at Café Boulud. It couldn't be any better from the moment we arrived at the restaurant until the end of meal. Great hospitality and service, exquisite dishes and nice ambience. Two thumbs way up. We will be back.
Cafe Boulud is simply.......wonderful!!! From the very moment you enter and meet the staff, you feel special. And then you eat glorious food and have a dining experience like no other, in our opinion. There is a comfortable elegance here and every dish was spectacular. From scrambled eggs with black truffles to seared scallops to lamb shanks to dessert, you will not be disappointed. While it is a bit expensive here, I checked "value" because of the quality of the food. Kudos!!!
I did ask for the duck to be medium well....it came out rare.....they took it back and re-fired but still not exactly what I wanted.
This is a special place. Always order more than one appetizer, dessert, and a cocktail if you drink. My favorite place.
I know that you can’t do anything about crying children but it does spoil the ambiance.
It’s was fantastic when you are going to Boulud cafe the desk and the service chaleureux aimable and professional
Overall was very nice, ambiance and food, drinks are extremely extensive. We had 2 Campari and the charge was $40, considering the glass was full of ice and very little Campari. Please! Use less ice. Thank you.
Excellent Service. I enjoyed the mushroom veloute.
It was just wonderful from the moment we entered. The Matre d was very friendly and made us feel very comfortable and of course very knowledgeable. The food was phenomenal and excellent service. It’s my new #1 restaurant in NYC and I’m telling everyone. It is well worth it.
Lovely service and special dishes as I have come to expect. Cheers to the staff.
Café Boulud is beyond outstanding! One of my favorite restaurants in New York.
Service wasn't great. We waited a long time for bread and we were never offered more bread later. The special NYC Restaurant Week was very limited. The food we ordered was very good but I would have like a bit more choice.
Very disappointed in our lunch this time. Been to Boulud often. This time was not up to its usual excellence. Salmon overcooked. Amuse bouche bland. Pate appetizer also bland. I expect better from Boulud. Also expect consistency in high level of cuisine which we did not get this time.
Food, service, price point was incredible! It is a must do for restaurant week! Also, they have special wines priced very well. Fantastic!
Just a great meal & fun for a birthday.
Menu were varied & all four of us had no trouble finding a first choice.
Both the food and the service were indifferent. Did not get bread and water for 20 to 30 minutes after sitting down. Foie Gras appetizer was ok, nothing special. Black sea bass was very good, but a bit overcooked for my taste. Wine was good and a reasonable value. Creme Brulee was mediocre.
But my expectations were frankly much higher for this restaurant. I brought my niece and nephew and was hoping for a very special evening with foods that would open their eyes to the possibilities of fine dining. Instead I got decent food, mediocre service, and a sizable bill. Won't be back.
We loved the service overall, yet the food was just okay. Loved the dessert, and the coffee here is amazing. Will visit again soon.
One of the waiters who served us was a bit rude, he pulled my plate while I was still eating
Cafe Boulud is always good. The ambiance is lovely and comfortable. And the service is generally solid.
This most recent visit for restaurant week lunch was good, but not outstanding. The mushroom veloute was a bit floury. And the beef paleron which was perfectly cooked with a piperade topping, was a bit bland. It needed a kick, a condiment to bring out the flavor.
The service was good, but not terribly attentive. We were not attended to as much as in the past and the server wasn't sure of who got which dish. But, I assume the quality is better all around when it's not during restaurant week. A bit disappointing, though.
One of the best dining experiences of my life.
Excellent food and service as always. But I miss the delicious complementary madeleines, which were always an exquisite touch to a lunch.
Cafe Boulud is a lovey place to have a leisurely lunch. The noise level wasn't overbearing, even though the room was full. It's more of a place for power lunches and social occasions versus a date place. One of the nicer places in the neighborhood. Cocktails need to be made across the building at Bar Pleiades, so expect a delay.
The food was very good but the service was just ok. It was lunch time and they rushed us so much all the time. They took my plate when I was still eating both for the first plate and the entrée. Then they did the same when we were having coffee, they wanted to take my coffee away and my cup was half empty. Maybe it was due to restaurant week --do they treat their customers differently at that moment of the year? I've been to Boulud Sud and Bar Boulud several times and I have better memories of my dining experience. I would not recommend Café Boulud for lunch if you want to have a nice conversation with someone and if you want to take your time.
Good foods and kind staff.
I spent a very wonderful time!
If you look up "Striploin Beef" on the internet, it says, it's a flavorful, well marbled piece of meat. It's hard to focus on the flavor, when the meat was so tough. I would normally have sent back such a poor quality meal, but, there was nothing else on the menu that appealed to us. And $28.00 for a Long Island Ice Tea, in a skinny glass, filled with ice, was an outrageous price to pay for a beverage. A total disaster of a meal!
Consistently an outstanding dining experience
The food was very good. The ambience is very stuffy crowd.
A civilized oasis in uncivil times. Excellent food, exemplary service. One of New York's best.
Food was excellent and the service outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everything is good! I will recommend to my friends.
