We have been to each of Daniel's restaurants may times over the years. This particular location is a lovely, dining room where service and cuisine never fail to impress.
Café Boulud never disappoints. The food is creative, superb and beautifully presented, if very expensive. The staff is marvelous, kind and attentive without hovering. And each meal there is always a special treat.
Second visit in two years. Came here for my partner’s birthday with two friends. Really missed the mark. Food wasn’t terrible, but nowhere near the level we expected.
In addition, I’m celiac and had multiple conversations with the server and kitchen. They served scallops over a plate of fregula—which I’ve since learned is basically couscous—and missed that the tiny pasta balls had wheat in them. (It was 1/2 of the dish). I did not make a large deal out of it, but the manager’s response was, “I’m sorry the scallops touched the couscous.” Not, “I’m sorry we claimed to know what we were serving you, but don’t know what semolina flour is...”
Wines were meh. The one I tried off the by the glass list was a sulphur bomb of the lowest quality. The bottles we had were just okay.
Over priced food . Steak for 2 cost $141 . We asked for medium rare and it came rare and unchewable
This restaurant exceeded my expectations in providing both a visuallly stimulating meal with an added benefit of being very delicious. The meats were tender, the sauces exceptional, and our service spectacular. Our dining experience was set to a new bar of achievement. My thanks to the marvelous staff who made our visit more than just a meal.
After watching Chef Aaron on Netflix’s “The Final Table” we knew we had to get to Café Boulud! We enjoyed such a delicious dinner consisting of escargot, foie gras, homemade bread, white truffle risotto, striped sea bass, and a surprise duck course from the kitchen! We finished off with some very tasty desserts. Each bite was truly better than the next! Thank you to Chef Aaron and his team for providing us with a wonderful night of food and service. We can’t wait to return!
Love love love this restaurant! Every time I have eaten here, it’s better then before. The service is impeccable!
Fine dining and service so it best. Definitely go here for a special occasion.
Excellent food and a wonderful service. A place to go!
Me encanta este restaurante ! 10 todo . Buena opción el menú del medio día !
Cafe Boulud was a real disappointment. The food was pretty to look at, but not very good. It was ordinary at best. We ordered and inexpensive bottle of wine and it was third rate. I had asked about it and was told that it was very good. It should not be on their list. I didn't want to make scene so I didn't send it back. The service was rarely acceptable. Took a long time to place our order. Water glases not refilled in a timlry manner. Waited a very long time to order and get dessert. This was a celebration brunch -- so sad.
Best French toast I’ve ever had!
First time at Cafe Boulud. Have been a fan of Bar Boulud, Boulud Sud and Daniel for a long time. We wanted to explore Cafe and enjoyed ourselves immensely.
Perfect food service and ambience.
Food was excellent, service attentive, great dinner experience.
Perfect, le tout dans un décor new yorkais splendide, merveilleux à revenir avec plaisir
My salad and duck were delectable!
This is elegant, old world fine dining at its very best. We had not been in years, and when I raed they had a Michelin rating, we decided to try it again. It is one of the best UES dining experiences we have every had. Can't wait to go back.
The food was exceptional. We booked lunch on New Year's day and didn't expect the $95 prix fixe menu, which was not optional. But the food-- including the Beef Wellington and the duck breast--was fantastic. The service was a little rushed, probably due to how busy they were. I highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions. Pricey but worth it for the quality of the food and overall experience.
Used to be better for both Food and services
We went for New Years Eve. I do not recommend it. The staff is very cold. Very robotic. Food is just ok.
The restaurant was about 1/3 capacity. I asked if I could have an empty table next to us. The lady at the front sternly and coldly said. “No it’s reserved”. Two hours later no one was at the table. Instead, they gave us a table near the door. Every time the door opened we got s rush of freezing awful!
My entree was served cold.
Excelente comida, genial servicio. Ambiente serio con muy buenos espacios.
This was a special occasion (an anniversary dinner) and Café Boulud made it one we will never forget. Creative food in an elegant seeting with attentive but not cloying service. What more could one want?
We booked ahead of time for a birthday. We were hoping for a great culinary experience. Café Boulud lived up to our expectations. Merci Chef Boulud.
A favorite for my wife and I whenever we are in the city. Superb food, friendly and efficient service. Staff are observant but never intrusive. Can't recommend this place enough.
Amazing as always turning a meal into an experience on every level
El mejor plato de Pato que he degustado en la ciudad de New York. Los postres son deliciosos y el trato es amable y eficiente.
The sommelier did not do her job. We requested assistance in pairing a wine with our appetizer and entree selections. We asked her to suggest something under $140.00 and she chose a bottle that was $165.00 and only went with one of the appetizer selections we had chosen for our meal. When I ordered the red snapper, I requested that the fish be well done. When it arrived at the table, it was partially raw in the middle. I requested that they cook the fish a bit more. When the plate returned, it was a completely different and smaller piece of red snapper and still undercooked. With all the restaurant choices available in New York City, we will not be returning to Cafe Boulud.
Absolutely delicious food. Had their brunch menu and was not disappointed. Would love to come back for dinner menu.
Top notch authentic French cuisine. The new Matri d who used to be at Daniel is a great addition for both the staff and customers. Croquet madam highly recommended.
The menu changes frequently and last night was my least favorite.
The food is disappointing comparing to what they charged. Overall is not up to the standard as branded.
Every year, we dine at Cafe Boulud for our anniversary and they always provide amazing service, food, and ambience.
That was the most amazing meal of my life! The exceptionally curated food combinations created an explosion of flavors releasing them in a layered fashion. Each bite was exquisite and we couldn’t help but close our eyes to take it all in and lavish in the experience. I can’t wait to go back.
The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. I highly recommend the scallops as they were amazing!
Our absolute favorite dinner spot in all of NYC. Good energy combining aspects of spectacular food, high standard services, and exceptional environment. We were here as a family and we enjoyed every second of our fine dining experience.
Chapeau to Daniel Boloud for the amazing must-go spot in New York!
Fixed price lunch was a tremendous value. Excellent overall experience.
