CAFÉ BOULUD features a French-American menu inspired by Chef Daniel Boulud's four culinary muses: la tradition, classic French cuisine; la saison, seasonal delicacies; le potager, the vegetable garden; and le voyage, the flavors of world cuisines.
In addition to dinner seven nights, we feature a $39 two-course prix-fixe lunch six days a week, and a $42 two-course prix-fixe brunch on Sundays. The restaurant is both a neighborhood gem and a destination for food lovers in search of casually elegant dining. Two private dining rooms seating 20 guests each are available for your private entertaining needs, and may be combined to accommodate 40.
The restaurant's adjacent BAR PLEIADES serves inventive cocktails and a luxurious bar menu from 3 pm onward.

Pleasant, but one main slightly cold.
Service was top-notch, food was okay but very pricey.
It's an excellent neighborhood spot for Upper East Siders.
The meal was outstanding. The waiter was a bit slow in taking my second drink order.
Receptionist was rude and ignorant this past Saturday at 10 pm. This is 3 times in less than 6 months. The waiter staff is excellent but the young girl sitting the patrons has the people skills of a pineapple
Absolutely amazing. We had striper and soft shell crabs and simple some of the best food we’ve had in months. Don’t miss this place
The best food in town you can’t miss it, french food Boulud is the place and try the white asparagus and de sea bass
An excellent restaurant with accomplished food, an outstanding wine list and great service. In particular the fixed price menu at $39.00 must represent some of the best value in New York. Highly recommended.
So very disappointing!
My husbands chicken was rubbery and he sent it back
I had my fish and they did not offer to take it back so we could eat together
It was taking so long that finally my husband told them to forget it
The desert was awful too
This was our 3rd time here and each time it got worse and worse!
3 times and your out!!!
Close to perfect! Superb service; superb food; lovely decor....... comfortable noise level... very very pleasant~! HIGHLY recommended.
Great and friendly service. We went with our 4 year old daughter and our 9 month baby, they had previously selected a table suitable for our needs. Food was super. We will go back!
Beautiful atmosphere and excellent food. Service was perfect . The ambiance was lovely. Feels like old New York. Don't think you could find a better restaurant. It is a special restaurant....perhaps my favorite.
The service was abominable! Don’t think they had enough wait staff as it took an excruciatingly long time to get our food and when we’d ask a question or asked for more coffee or even our check, the waiter was so harried that he forgot to do or bring what we had asked for. The foid was good though.
We had breakfast here. Terrible service had to wait 40 min to get anything, food well below average. Stay clear of this place!
It was great!
Food was very good and setting was beautiful. Would recommend
Unbelievable dining experience. Attentive service. Fantastic wine. World class food. 10/10 would bang again
Wonderful prix fixe lunch menu on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. The wait staff is excellent and the food is superb.
Delicious. Elegant. Long lunch. A pleasure. Gracious staff.
Beyond overpriced for the quality of food. You can do much better, even on the upper east side. While the risotto was excellent, the rest of the food was bland, dry, and the sauce viscous.
Relatively small and quiet, it is a good place for conversation over good food.
Amazing as always!
Great restaurant. Very accommodating!! I was a half hour late (accident in Holland Tunnel) and they held my reservation on a Saturday night - prime time!! When I called, they said, don't stress out or get into an accident trying to get here. When you show up, we will seat you and your party.
Strongly recommend this restaurant. I know I will be back.....................
The service was outstanding, and we felt like we were truly being taken care of. The menu is pricey but totally recommended, if you can afford it.
We have eaten here a number of times & the food & service never disappoint.
Cozy setting. Brunch was terrific!!!!
Once again we had a fantastic evening at Cafe Boulud. Great menu options, wonderful food experiences, portion sizes were spot on and service was terrific. Looking forward to our next trip to NYC and Cafe Boulud!
The very best!
This was our second visit to Cafe Boulud, one of Daniel Boulud's many NYC establishments. The dinner menu suggests four different cuisines, but the four of us were free to choose any item from any of the four lists. The food did not disappoint. Among the appetizers, the frog's legs and oysters Rockefeller were delicious. Our entrees included sea bass and ravioli, both excellent. The coq au vin was good, but perhaps nothing special. The servers were very attentive, especially to our teenager, her first time in a fine dining restaurant.
This restaurant remains excellent. The vegetable preparations are inventive and have the freshest produce. Highlights were the mushroom veloute soup and the Cajun rub pork loin.
We have been to this restaurant many times. I love the décor ambiance and staff, they are very professional.
I ordered trout which they did not tell me that it was on a smoked plancha board. It was terrible. They need to clarify how they cook their food.
I was totally turned off of the smokiness of it and the waiter did everything he could to ameliorate the situation, but I was bummed.
Amazing experience. Better than I expected.
Definitely I will go back soon.
Lovely ambience, lovely service. Gumbo too strong, too much bacon taste in the coq sure vin. Fish was good but nothing special.
Amazing place - from the moment you enter to the very last crumbles of your desert. Presentation of every dish is outstanding , taste is phenomenal
I went there for brunch with my family for my birthday. I really only have one word to describe our meal - perfection.
We had a wonderful dinner at Cafe Boulud. This was our 4th or 5th time eating there over the last 10 years and every meal has been superb. I started off with the escargot which was exquisite and perfectly matched with a glass of Montrachet. I had the lamb as my main course and it was perfect with a glass of Faively Gevrey-Cambertin. My wife raved about the mushroom risotto she had for her dinner. This restaurant is perfect for when you want to have a fine dining experience but in a slightly more relaxed environment than dinner at Daniel, Per se, or Le Bernardin.
Service was very lackluster. Servers appeared to be attentive to certain diners vs others.
If I could go above 5 stars I would! The food overflowed with different flavors with each dish. The service was great without being overbearing. I’m looking forward to Daniel next!
Great prix-fixe lunch priced well
for three courses.
Excellent place, food and service! Strongly recommended!
A rare excellent restaurant that makes possible quiet conversation.
