We loved our experience
Excellent as always !
Cafe boulud never lets you down
Café Boulud is my favorite restaurant. But something is happening there-things are slipping. for example during the 2 hours we were there for lunch, no one refilled the water glasses, no one came to offer us more bread. More importantly there were unexplained delays in serving our meal. The chilled soup course took more than 20 minutes; a grilled hangar steak took well over a half hour to be served. Staff gave two unasked for apologies while we were waiting. Note' the restaurant was just half filled. Similar delays were seen at other tables during the time we were there. I hope that this is not a forecast of the future .
Always love it. Truly elegant.
I intended to fill in 5 of the empty circles above.
The perfect elegant cafe. Looking forward to a return.
Excellent service, presentation, and DB’d typical perfect touches. Maitre d’ is first rate
The food was ok but not great . The bread they served was a bit stale it was not baked today . The only dish that was outstanding was the chilled beet soup . Service was good but it never compensate for average food .
Enjoyed a wonderful evening at Cafe Boulud. We ordered the Duck Breast and Resotto and the food was nicely presented, prepared and delicious. We would highly recommend Cafe Boulud to anyone looking for an upscale dining experience and look forward to dining there again on our next visit to New York.
Cafe Boulud is our "go-to" restaurant when we want a special night out with friends in a "grown up" environment. The food is always absolutely sublime. We can carry on a conversation without shouting over the noise around us BUT it has a lively, upbeat vibe.
I am a huge fan of Chef Boulud, his staff and his restaurants....I have been to all of the ones in the city and enjoyed each one immensely. This past visit was no exception and I am thrilled that Cafe Boulud is located in my favorite NYC hotel, the Surrey. My friend Pierre and I enjoyed a very nice dinner of oysters, white asparagus, crab bisque, loup de mer, and a delicious chicken. We shared the entrees and enjoyed a luscious Genot Boulanger Montrachet, finished the evening with a molten chocolate dessert...All in all it was a great evening, and steps from my suite at the Surrey! The atmosphere is cozy and friendly...The service was top.
This high end resturant meets and exceeds expectations as each dish delivers amazing taste. The only small criticism was attention to detail relative to clearing our plates in a timely manner.
Great place to meet friends for delectable food and good wines. We came from Korea, Singapore and Mauritius to reconnect and reminisce and this was the perfect relaxed setting with just the right amount of waiter attention. Perfect evening! Thanks.
Went for breakfast. 20 minute wait for service/coffee. 45 minute wait for our scrambled eggs with toast, though the restaurant was almost empty. Very un-attentive service - we felt like the invisible family and went up to leave without waiting for the food.
The location is fine and easily accessed. The food was good as well as wine. However, the service was terrible. The waiter was indifferent to any of our request. We had to wait for a very long time for any response. And in the end, I had to tip him for his unpleasant service.
we showed up quite early for our reservation, but with considerable graciousness and good humor, we were immediately seated. Service was exceedingly friendly....nothing haughty or supercilious, as in some high-end restaurants. Food was delicious, especially my Vietnamese crab soup and roasted duck breast. The molten chocolate cake was a super finish to the dinner. A wonderful evening!
The service was impeccable. Incredibly attentive but not intrusive. The food and presentation very impressive as you would expect from a Boulud restaurant. Can't wait to try the others.
Always a pleasure with good food consistently.
We love the ambience - the superb food, the warm and efficient service and the entire experience- we live in Sydney and your restaurant is always a must when we visit New York
Superb cuisine. Excellent service.
Best food in NYC. Always the same, year after year!
Quiet ambiance conducive to fine dining. The food is always a pleasure.
Excelente, la comida esquisita, ambiente acogedor. Buen servicio
Birthday. It was fantastic!
The food is always top notch.
A beautiful and relaxed atmosphere with impeccable unobtrusive service. Food is inventive and delicious and entire staff friendly and attentive.
Would return in a heartbeat.
The restaurant is lovely, the food is not only pretty, but delicious and a wide variety of textures and tastes.
if you want a special occasion restaurant, this is it.
The spring time lunch menu of pea soup and asparagus risotto was perfection on a plate. I don't know who cooks during the week for lunch, but the risotto was the best I've ever had.... Finished off with a strawberry tart, warm madeleines and an almond milk cappuccino that was foamed perfectly.
Had a birthday lunch celebration. The prix fixed, three course meal. Each course was exceptional. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. The only disappointment was the noise level. The conversation level of the other patrons was very loud and distracting. With the restaurant being a Michelin Star restaurant I expected the noise level to be subdued.
This was my wife and my first time at Cafe Boulud although we had been wanting to go for some time. We have eaten at the three Lincoln Center Boulud restaurants many times and will some day go to Daniel. The occasion was to meet with a very old and good friend from my Fulbright days in Hamburg, Germany, with his new wife, who were in town on business. Needless to say we were not disappointed, far from it. The food was superb and the staff friendly and attentive and we never felt rushed. Although the restaurant was full when we began, we were able to converse, and, as other patrons began to finish, even more comfortably. Summing up: it was perfect. We will return.
Very accommodating staff & the food was impeccable & flavorful & beautiful! Wine list was wonderful & had perfect selections. Great mix.
As usual, a great evening.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is elegant
and welcoming. We were given
a round table (for five), which was perfect
for conversation. We felt very pampered
by the service we received from all the
And, as usual, the food was impeccable. We
particularly liked the Voyages Vietnamese
loup de mer. And we appreciated all the
extras, from the arancini to begin with, to
the madeleines at the end.
A great place for a special evening.
The highlight of New York dining is debatably Cafe Boulud. Spectacular and perfected to every degree. The staff cares for each and every detail in a way a chef could only dream. Cheers.
This used to be one of my favorite NYC restaurants. But the noise level was awful. I will not go back.
Food was not that good as we expected.
The perfect spot for a birthday lunch. Wonderful food and the perfect level of buzz.
A lovely old-fashioned restaurant with service that is just right, never obsequious but always "correct," as the French would say. Food was excellent, though the desserts were too small.
