Food is good, nothing great but good for sharing. The cocktails were delicious but very little alcohol. I am usually in favor of going light on the booze, but this was very light. Loud room, but fun. Service was quick and helpful.

It's a wonderful restaurant, no doubt. And their homemade pasta is delicious. We felt that for a casual place the fact that they didn't allow any small changes to the meal was, maybe, a bit of pretension. That's a little harsh, but it did seem the restaurant didn't warrant it. And as nice as the waiter was, it took 15 minutes before anyone came to our table once we sat. Still liked it very much, but that's the honest review.

One of our favorite neighborhood places. Food is great and service is always delightful. If you sit in the patio it isn’t loud but in the main dining room, it can get pretty noisy with high ceilings and hard surfaces throughout the interior. But the ambiance is great for a night out!

Food was outstanding. While likely not intending to be shared plates we all shared our meal and I’m glad I was able to try several things on the menu. All were outstanding.

We really liked our first visit to Cafe Birdie. The neighborhood feels alive and we enjoyed the ambiance and food. Overall, we'll probably lighten our selections next time...we left feeling pretty stuffed. Much of what we ordered (fried chicken which was outstanding, mushrooms and peaches which were lost in sauce, pistachio pesto pasta which was perfect, and shrimp n grits) was on the heavy side. the cocktail were excellent. One weird occurance was the pot smell that kept wafting through the patio where we were seating. Kind of an appetite killer. Not sure just where it was coming from but we'll opt for indoors next time, even though it's pretty dark and certainly louder. Note that the Gold Line stop is a block a way and parking in the neighborhood isn't always easy...taking the train is a great way to come and go!

We made our reservation and stipulated that we were celebrating a birthday. We arrived, service was nothing to write home about...not bad not exceptional. Servings were incredibly small (marketed as 'shareable' so we were 'encouraged' to order extra plates to 'share'). We were a party of four and ordered 7-8 dishes... (we ended up at another restaurant afterward to enjoy an adult-sized dessert). We ordered the burrata which was served with 2 slices of toast sliced in half (insufficient for a party of four). When we requested more 'bread' to finish the burrata, we were informed we would be charged (so my husband informed them he would remove the charge from the tip. We were charged $4.00 for a slice of toast. The meal could have satiated a party of 2 but was insufficient for a party of four. We left hungry. By the way, my husband's birthday was never acknowledged. On our way out, a server dropped a carafe of wine. My husband who was in a cast had to navigate around broken glass and my daughter's blouse was stained with wine. We never received an apology. We left the restaurant without a "Thanks for coming in" or "Have a nice evening." I am not sure they ever noticed we left. We did leave notes regarding our experience on the receipt. We will never go back. If you want to be honored and made to feel really special on your birthday or any special occasion, go to Malbec Pasadena on Green Street. They are grateful for their customers and make sure you know it.
