Great time. Amazing food!
Terrific seafood. Great atmosphere. Amazing service. You wil not be disappointed.
We celebrated our 34th anniversary there. Such special memories of the old days when we had more disposable income before kids and spent many special occasions and New Years Eve dates at Cafe Annie. Robert and Mimi have kept those times alive to this day with the delicious food and impeccable service. The dining area and bar are beautiful Hats off to Enrique for being the most awesome and attentive waiter possible. Hoping to spend many more special occasions with you.

The food here is always amazing, fresh and superbly executed, innovative and bright, and the waitstaff is probably the best in town. Robert and Mimi (chef and owners) are always the consummate hosts. Cafe Annie is a very special restaurant.
Cafe Annie made our anniversary very special. Thank U!!
Great food with complexity and nuanced flavor. Service was excellent. Wonderful patio for after dinner espresso and dessert.
Super awesome assisting in this celebration.
Appeared to us as though this place was struggling. The large inviting dining room has now been closed off an dedicated to private events. What use to be table seating in the bar area is now the dining room. The place was only half full at 8:00 and there was no one at the bar which in the past was a bit of a hot spot. . Food quality was good but the atmosphere was such that you just wanted to eat and get out of there.
We were treating ourselves to a relaxing and elegant evening out. The food was appropriately elegant and the ambiance comfortably quiet.
We worried to each other that the place was less than half full: I hope that’s not an ominous sign for the future of such a classy restaurant.
Food, service and ambiance are consistently excellent, as they have been for decades. Still one of Houston's best restaurants. Robert and Mimi are always outstanding.
Exquisite food, service, & ambience!! Great for dates!
the restaurant accommodate us with a quick change of diners from a party of 6 to 8. within minutes we were seated promptly. service and food were excellent. we will definitely be back again
Food is not good as before
When we arrived for our 7 pm reservation, we were told that Open Table was not supposed to allow reservations for 5 and that it would "be a while" before they could seat us. The restaurant was very empty at the time, and there were many open tables for 5, but the hostess would not seat us because she said those tables "were reserved." This was very annoying because we had a reservation! We were offered a table for 4 in the bar, which we declined because we had five people. Eventually we were seated, but we were made to feel uncomfortable and unwanted -- like we had done something wrong by making a reservation online. It was a bad start to the evening and tainted the entire night. I emailed the restaurant about this on Saturday evening but the restaurant did not respond.
This was my first visit to Cafe Annie, and it was everything I expected and more. Cafe Annie made our Valentines Day celebration pleasant and unforgettable at the same time. I can't say enough about the superb wine selection and amazing entries. If you are looking for a venue to make an impression on group of people, or to simple have an intimate romantic evening, I would highly recommend Cafe Annie.
Great overall though my date ordered a medium-well new york stip steak & it did come out bloody & very rare, it was more like it was just seared on both sides & not cooked fully.
It was Valentine’s Day and 4th date with this lady. I generally don’t like dining on Valentines because of the crowd and fixed menu.
We were promptly seated a little before our reservation time. Despite the crowd, the noise level was surprisingly lower than I would expect. The menu provided a broad range of options, many more than other restaurants of comparable quality. As usual, the service was excellent despite a full dining area. Best of all, the experience led to a future 5th date :)
We had a wonderful time having dinner with my sister, who lives in California and was only in town for 1 night. Cafe Annie and the staff made it very special for us. Thank you!
Everything was great as always.
Service impeccable but food just didn’t have the “wow” factor I expected from RDG. Shrimps in the 20-pc cocktail were small and a little overcooked. Steaks were cooked correctly (med-rare) but nothing special in terms of taste/flavor. Sides wee OK. Pecan pie dessert, however, was outstanding.
The dishes all have inventive touches using mostly familiar ingredients. The quality is outstanding throughout. Even better was the extraordinary service. The staff were respectful and playful while glad to accommodate our needs and desires. We were celebrating a milestone wedding anniversary and found ourselves treated like honored guests. We will definitely be back.
I visited Cafe Annie with my husband for an early dinner. They do have a happy hour but only on some of their appetizers and drinks. We opted for our favorite cocktail instead but did get to take advantage of one of the appetizers. We don't eat big meals so I was pleased that an entree could be split, the meal was served on two plates and had a beautiful presentation. since it was happy hour, the noise level was higher. Otherwise, I would love to return to try another dish at a later hour for quieter atmosphere.
We had a wonderful business lunch. The food was delicious and enhanced by the expert service.
Food was fine, not outstanding. Moderate value
after all of these years, a bit disappointed. Food was great but service was mediocre and noise level was too high
Excellent meal. Renfari was wonderful. Will definitely return-one if my new favorite spots!
Wonderful quiet place for a business lunch. Many great lunch choices on the menu for both hearty eaters and those wanting a light lunch.
Great Houston locally owned place....don't let the construction on Post Oak keep you from this one of a kind culinary gem.
Has been my favorite restaurant in Houston for many years, still living up to their great food and atmosphere reputation!
The service was nice but very slow. The food was not good.
Great food, great atmosphere, super nice and accommodating staff. Service was just a little slow. We had a great time and will for sure be back.
It was all fabulous. The only thing was 3 small children were sat behind us and it did take away from our quiet dinner. Very distracting!!!
It was wonderful!!!
Totally empty, food just ok. Blah.
The food is just ok. It’s lacking on flavor. The quail was really good. However, the pheasant was really bad. It’s not on the same level as other restaurants like Doris Metropolitan, B&B Butchers, UB Preserve, etc.
One of our neighborhood favorites, always! Best tortilla soup in town!
Business lunch with great food and our server was excellent. The chocolate brownies with our coffee was a nice touch.
New Year’s Eve
It's been a while since we have dined at Cafe Annie (formerly RDG, formerly Cafe Annie). It is nice to see that Chef Robert DG has modified the menu from hit or miss French dishes to one with a wonderfully upscale Texas flavor: Oysters, tuna carpaccio, redfish, steaks, and lobster (ok, so lobster is not from Texas, but it was still good). Adrian was a very attentive and pleasant waiter who made a spectacular meal a special event.
This was our second time to go this restaurant (with the first being years ago at their original location). We now live in Austin and when we found ourselves coming into Houston the weekend of our anniversary, we decided to make reservations. We were not disappointed. They made us feel special with complimentary glass of champagne, exceptional service and the food was fantastic. We will be back.
