We spent our Valentine’s day in one of the best Italian restaurant in Sarasota, also if the restaurant was extremely busy they delivered an amazing meal, well done to the staff of Amici’s!!!
It’s always one of our favorite places to go. Fantastic food, atmosphere, and service!
Valentine's Day. Perhaps you should expect dining out to be somewhat challenging. I don't believe they had an adequate number of servers and ours was downright RUDE. Her attitude ruined what might have been OK otherwise.
Had to be one of the worst service experiences in a long time.
The waiter didn't pay attention to my wife's order of salad with no dressing. When it came with oil on it, he said oh it's only a little. Are you kidding me? No oil is no oil. In addition to that he was Curt an unattentive. Usually find restaurants will check on you and see if your meal is good or if you need anything more to drink. He didn't either. We had to ask for everything.
The appetizer of meatballs was cold when it arrived.
All in all there are many great choices downtown Sarasota that you can skip this one
Very good! Seated in side room with low noise level. Branzini was very good!
We were cordially greeted and quickly seated even on a busy Saturday night. Server was pleasant and made some excellent suggestions. This was our first visit, but we will definitely return.
This experience was horrible. From the rude owner as soon as we were being seated yelled to his staff not to let us sit because they overbooked and the kitchen is 45 minutes behind. Then he said to let us sit and we could buy drinks and appetizers. To never receiving the lemon for my water. To receiving my salad and had no silverware. Stared at the owner for 5 minutes while he laughed and joked with the table next to us. Then asking the waitress why he never even apologized or came to our table and I was told it was her job to do that. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this loud, overpriced, awful service restaurant. There are much better places to spend your money.
the food and the service ere both fine but the noise level was totally unacceptable.
Excellent Italian food. We were very pleased with the food and service. Will definitely be back when visiting Sarasota.
Just mediocre at best. Waitress wanted to be anywhere except the dining room. Food was just OK. With so many good restaurants to choose from there is no compelling reason to return
We recently dined at Cafe Amici and must say the food was outstanding. We sat at the bar which we always like when there is just the two of us. The cocktails on the other hand were disappointing. Prior to dinner we like to enjoy a proper dry martini. Unfortunately our martini pour was well short of three quarters full. The bartender said that was the standard pour and offered no further explanation let alone an extra fill. I get it ... I get it.... a full glass is a larger volume than a mixed drink. But don't insult me with a $9 cocktail that does not live up to customer expectations. Charge me $12 and fill er up! Believe it or not that is a turn off for us.
We love this restaurant. The food is authentic and really good. On this occasion we had friends in from out of town and we went to café amici on a Saturday night. The food was excellent but the service, which is generally top notch, was off. It seemed like they were short staffed for some reason and were not as attentive as usual. We chalked it up to them just having an off night....i am sure we will be back there many times......
Good food, service ok, noise was so loud you had to yell to your spouse across the table. Due to the noise we requested to eat outside, which the weather was perfect, but no outside dining due to wait staff shortage.
Very average food and service. Would not dine here again.
Birthday. My dad was treated like family..
Great food, generous servings
Food always good. Regular waiter was not working. New girl struggled but the limoncello after dinner soothed the meal.
Food was good. Mine could have been warmer
Cafe Amechi continues as one of our favorite restaurants. Service by staff as well as the hospitality of the owners makes it always a pleasure to dine here. The home made pasta dishes are always excellent as well as their seafood entrees.
We went to Cafe Amici for my birthday and before a show. The food was very good, but the server upsold us on the grilled octopus appetizer saying we needed 2 for the table of 4 when 1 would have been fine. Also, she said the appetizers were in the $13 range, but when our bill came the octopus was $18 a plate. Additionally, the initial bill was wrong and it took forever to get it straightened out which made us rush to get to the show.
Later, we noticed that they had charged our credit card twice. Once for the wrong amount and once for the correct amount. This took several days to get corrected.
Lastly, it would have been nice to be offered something for my birthday and for our inconvenience.
