Great restaurant! Drinks, great, food, great. A very delightful experience that I hope to capture again and again.
Enjoy the dining at this place.. love the menu and experience .. everything is awesome
The ambiance was romantic and beautiful, a perfect place for a date. The food was also delicious though the menu is a little small and it seems a bit too expensive for what they give you. Overall, a great place but definitely make a reservation beforehand!
Ok food and staff seem not so happy but pleasant. The meatloaf was very tasty as well as the beef salad. Hubby said his roast chicken was good and moist. Food wasn’t all that memorable except for the lamb meatloaf.
There’s a large outside patio to dine but gets cold at night and not enough heaters unless its in the middle of summer.
Here for brunch on a Sunday in February. We had a reservation which got us seated promptly and was outside in the courtyard. Inside seating is very limited. After chasing down hostess who attempted to avoid me I asked if we cold move to inside which clearly had a 4 top table since the it was very windy outside. I was told very rudely that was the owners table and no one could sit there. What owner would seat less customers and get less revenue whether they were there or not? Food and table service were OK. Restrooms limited to 1 person up stairs 1 down with constant line. I wouldn't go back.
The food was amazing, the garden ambiance was magical. Highly recommend everything we had including the shrimp and grits, bananas foster waffles and the lamb sloppy joes. The only problem was that the two bathroom stalls can fill up quickly and for one you are lined up on a busy staircase up to the kitchen and the other you are in the middle of the servers pathway/register area.
Cutr place in a beautiful street in New Orleans.
We had a wonderful experience. Food, service and atmosphere was charming and spot on with their knowledge of the menue and wine list.... Highly recommended it.
Cute courtyard seating. Not a lot of gluten free options. The food was fine for brunch. Enjoyed the aperol spritzs. My grits were kind of cold. No almond or soy milk for lattes.
I’ve come here for special occasions for the past 2 years and they never seem to disappoint, from the decor and atmosphere to the food and drinks. Café Amelie will also be a stop when i visit New Orleans!
Beautiful, serene courtyard. We made reservations and was seated right away. I got the lamb special and it was amazing. A large portion too, so definitely got my money’s worth. I would go back for sure.
Best grilled salmon! Beautiful cafe lit courtyard for evening dining. We loved it! The goat cheese & fig appetizer on bread would be better if the bread were toasted, but other than that, everything was wonderful and we will be back!
Our server was excellent! He was friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drinks.
What a difference from our last visit. We were seated upstairs even though there were available tables downstairs when we arrived and left. My husband has trouble going upstairs but they insisted we go upstairs. Since I put on the reservation that it was our anniversary I thought maybe they had a special table for us. But that wasn’t the case. They seated us in a corner facing a wall. The room wasn’t inviting at all for an expensive restaurant in New Orleans. The table was a metal outdoor table with legs that were in the way so I couldn’t push my chair up. My husbands pasta was so oily that he couldn’t eat it. My fingerling potatoes were french fries that tasted like they were three days old. Lastly when the waitress brought the dessert menu and we politely declined she gave us attitude. It was a very disappointing Anniversary dinner to say the least.
In my reservation I had asked to be seated in the courtyard. The courtyard was beautiful and the music was great. The food was delicious and the service was great. I would whole heartedly recommend this restaurant.
We went for brunch, and the food was good. Not great or particularly creative, but everything tasted good and arrived very quickly. It's a great restaurant to go to when the weather is nice and you can sit outside. Also, I think the older crowd might really like this restaurant. They can get a taste of New Orleans without feeling challenged.
Really enjoyed the cozy feel of the restaurant in an old house. The food and wine were very good and the server paced the meal well.
What a lovely location! Would have loved to eat outside if it were warmer.
Yelp reviewed this as #1 restaurant which made for high expectations. Food was good but not memorable, unfortunately.
Perhaps it was an off night.
My wife’s first trip to New Orleans and this place made it very special. Able to eat on the patio with wonderful weather.
Great atmosphere, wonderful service, and amazinf food. I went with a bachelorette group and we shared some appetizers and most did a pasta entree. Everyone loved their meal and I would definitely recommend.
Nice flavors, but the tuna and salmon were slightly overcooked. Great service. Beautiful space.
We had lunch while on vacation. Very nice.
Good food but our waitress was completely disinterested and inattentive. Drink ticket was lost and she never realized it. Slow food service. Manager and food was the saving grace.
The Cafe is absolutely adorable and dreamy! Food was amazing. Service was great. It was the best way to celebrate New Years Eve.
The food the atmosphere and all the wait staff was awesome. This was my first time here.I want to also give a big thanks to my waiter Daniel R for taking part in my proposal to my future wife.Thank you Daniel.
- [ ] We had a 5:00 pm reservation and were seated immediately. The service was friendly and fast from start to finish. The ambiance was nice and the courtyard beautiful. We started our meal with the poutine and it was delicious my favorite thing we ordered. We decided to order the two specials the pasta and entree, they were both great. In addition, we ordered the following drinks: orange blossom, the amelie, the firing squad, and the burnt sienna. The two first drinks were delicious but the second two taste not so good but similar to one another. Overall we had a good time.
The server was extremely friendly. The garden was beautiful. I had the gumbo and the Sunnyside up cochon with grits and gravy. Both were delicious. The gumbo was spicy, but not just hot (spice level). The eggs and cochon (Pork) was rich. I left satisfied with the meal and the price!
It was a nice dinning experience
Everything was fabulous and delicious
Delicious salad and salmon entree. Attentive service. Very positive experience.
Fig and goat cheese bread is calling me back. Loved the shrimp and grits. Feel free to ask for a full size portion vs the appetizer size.
Very cute setting in a great old building with really good food.
Excellent food and lovely space. One of the best meals I had in NOLA!
This was my second time at Cafe Amelie. The meal was once again outstanding. The first time I went, we had brunch in the magically, beautiful, lush courtyard. It was raining this time, so we had to sit inside. Our table was in the upstairs dining room. If you have a choice, choose downstairs. The evening lighting was way too bright upstairs, downstairs feels much more intimate. The service was exceptional. I highly recommend Cafe Amelie.
We dined in the courtyard and midway through our dinner, light rain began to fall. Without hesitation the staff quickly opened umbrellas over the tables to keep us dry. Our waitstaff was prompt with our drinks and food and made friendly, polite conversation throughout our meal.
We ordered from the regular menu in addition to the prix fixe menu and can highly recommend the chicken and andouille jambalaya and the cherry almond bread pudding!!! Calming and quiet beautiful place, food and people.
I’ve gone here for years. It’s consistently great. The other night was no different. Lovely wine list. You can dress up or down. Ambiance top notch, friendly service. Take a look.
Beautiful, quiet, authentic French quarter restaurant tucked off the beaten path. Food was amazing.
Cafe Amelie was a magical experience! Make sure to make a reservation so that you do not miss out. The salmon dinner with asparagus was delicious.
Slow night. Closed kitchen early. Harassed us to leave. Waiter only makes $2 / hour before tips (she said). Whole place closed at 9:30pm in the quarter. Local that went here for a first date. Horrific choice it turned out.
Very nice waitstaff- we told her we needed to be at the theater so had an hour to eat and she timed drinks, appetizers, entree and check perfectly.
