Nestled in the historic 150-year-old Princess of Monaco Courtyard and Carriage House on Royal Street in the French Quarter, Café Amelie is a rare combination of superb Louisiana fare served in a lush, enchanting New Orleans courtyard setting.
There is an $8.00 per person charge for all desserts served that are not from our kitchens.
Service was fantastic. Michael was our server and did a splendid job. We celebrated our anniversary and he brought us champagne to end the night. What a special touch!
It was cold and rainy so we had to eat inside at a cramped table near the door. Food was good, but not great. Pretty average overall.
You will enjoy the patio setting. A lovely place to sit with a loved you and take in the nights air. The air is much nicer in the fall!! We enjoyed the service provided, and the meal was excellent. The cocktail selection is also one you need to try. The folks behind the bar have a great talent mixing those wonderful cocktails. Be sure is book a table early, weekends fill up quickly.
The experience was great. We got seated in the courtyard which had a romantic feel. They had their menu but also had many specials for us to choose from. We ended up going with their special of the roasted duck and it was delicious. We also enjoyed their salmon cake and chocolate melting cake.
Our server was not very good and our table was in the path of all the servers, even though there were other tables available. I asked for a second glass of wine and she brought it when I was pretty much done with my meal. Lastly, she plunked our check down without offering coffee or dessert. Ugh!!!
The food is good. We sat in the bar ( for the second time) so it was a little crowded and noisy.
We had a lovely birthday dinner. Great ambiance, excellent food
Quiet...Nice evening spot!
Grady brunch in a beautiful setting
It was a great experience. Thank you.
Waitress was hostile the entire meal
Not to mention rushing our table
Excellent fresh food
Indoors was hot and loud as an old French cafe should be, but I preferred the courtyard experience
You must order the shrimp and grits with corn..... I never liked grits before trying it and now I can’t stop thinking about that dish. Yum!!!
Food arrived cold and waited for 20 minutes to get sliver ware.,
Service was wonderful, Ryan was attentive and engaging, made a great meal even better.
The food was average and the service was terrible. Not a place I would recommend.
Great food and service.
The bread that came prior to the meal was out of this world.
Amazing food, service, ambience
Sat outside. The atmosphere was relaxing and the ambiance was perfect for a date night. All the staff worked well together and everything flowed so nicely. The food and dessert were amazing. As were the craft cocktails.
This is listed as vegetarian friendly but in fact it is not
There is one salad without meat and when I asked if I could order a cheese sandwich for my grandson the waitress snapped that the kitchen is very busy and does not take special requests. I ordered a cheese egg ham and tomato sandwich with intention of removing ham and when I ordered it the waitress said “oh do you want them to take the ham off?” 🤦♀️ I said no I will remove the ham. The courtyard is beautiful but New Orleans is generally not vegetarian friendly. I am not vegetarian but respect that choice. Please learn to be more respectful of vegetarians if you are going to claim to be “vegetarian friendly”
The atmosphere by dining in the Courtyard was fantastic.
And the service and food was outstanding. We have and will tell everyone and cannot wait until our return.
Our server was pleasant but unprofessional, hitting my elderly father in the head with plates. Completely an accident, but unsuited for brunch dining! The goat cheese and beet salad is delicious and my fiancé got the cochon de lait and we both enjoyed our plates.
My boyfriend and I went to Cafe Amelie for our anniversary and it was a delightful experience! This is a very romantic spot, we were able to sit in their beautiful courtyard seating area. The staff was very friendly and our hostess was very nice. The food is excellent, I would highly recommend! We definitely will be back.
Always a fantastic meal at Cafe Amelie. The shrimp and grits was THE BOMB!!!
Great food, great service, and very cute cafe. One of my favorite brunch stops and would love to make a regular stop when visiting.
Our first time in NOLA and decided on Cafe Amelie based on reviews. From service to food, this place did not disappoint. We had the soup of the day, sweet potato with andouille sausage, amazing! Perfect combo of sweet, spicy, comforting. The Cajun poutine was great as well. I decided to have shrimp and grits as my entree and it was also delicious! It was a rainy day so the outdoor seating wasn’t available, but it was very charming. Go have great food and then walk it off after =)
The ambiance and service was wonderful! Our entrees arrived late but the server was so accommodating that our meals were comped. We felt well taken care of. The food was delicious. We will definitely be returning again!
The shrimp and grits, gumbo, and pork entree were amazing !
We really enjoyed the food and the courtyard. It was a nice setting. The quality of food was great and I loved the baked oysters. I loved the outdoor dining. Was exactly what I was looking for.
The ambience was perfect for a romantic date. outdoors with pretty lights hanging from the trees. we had a reservation which was helpful. Food was excellent. They gave us option of ordering half portions since we weren't very hungry just coming off of a food tour earlier in the day!
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the country. Every time I'm in New Orleans it's the restaurant I most look forward to. I really don't have enough good things to say about the place. Open table makes it a breeze to get a table in such a popular spot. Thanks!
We had a fantastic experience dining at Cafe Amelie. The outdoor seating was perfect and the service was excellent. Our meal was delicious and we had a great time. I love this place!
Amazing food, ambience and service. Perfect NOLA brunch after Mass at the Cathedral.
Brunch here is amazing! They have the the best shrimp and grits that I’ve ever had!
Amazing food. Beautiful outdoor courtyard with tables. Excellent service. It was a delightful evening in every way!
The Atlantic salmon and shrimp grits were excellent, and so was the bread pudding and bread crumbled. Though the ahi tuna was a bit dry. Overall it was a great meal and highly recommended Cafe Amelie.
Food was amazing and the setting could not be beat. Service was a bit lacking and some of our drinks were clearly not prepared in the correct glassware. Overall a good experience. Not enough negative for me to not recommend it or go back.
Loved it. The Courtyard is lovely. Our server was very attentive. The food was delicious.
Wehad a wonderful experience, the food was excellent and the ambiance was beautiful!!
Beautiful outdoor courtyard. Seemed like another world coming off Royal Street. Very peaceful. Waitstaff was very friendly and knowledgable. The salads and gumbo were fresh and delicious. The pasta jambalaya was uniquely New Orleans with the perfect amount of spice. A wonderful dinner!
