Nestled in the historic 150-year-old Princess of Monaco Courtyard and Carriage House on Royal Street in the French Quarter, Café Amelie is a rare combination of superb Louisiana fare served in a lush, enchanting New Orleans courtyard setting.
There is an $8.00 per person charge for all desserts served that are not from our kitchens.
Magical evening in the courtyard with attentive service, fabulous cocktails, amazing food, and delightful ambiance at a reasonable price. Could not have been a better experience.
The food was delicious. It was raining so we ended up inside at a table that had a constant stream of people going by so that’s why I rated the ambience lower. I would definitely return though.
Beautiful ambiance and the food couldn't be better!
We had a fabulous brunch, starting off with Bloody Mary drinks and the bubba grits dip. Our meals were just as tasty. A great way to spend the morning with friends.
The courtyard is lovely. Service was great. Reasonably priced food.
Beautiful outdoor courtyard with lush trees and a fountain. Food was good.
Everything is delicious. We ordered several items and it was all superb. Service was exceptional as well.
Great ambiance outside. I recommend the Brussels sprouts and shrimp and grits. I would not sit inside. I was also not impressed with cleanliness of bathroom
Best chicken gumbo in the city!! Love it with the fig & honey bread!! Glass of white and I can call it a day!! Yummy!!!
Really nice courtyard for outdoor dining. Our server was very nice and recommended the pork chop which was delicious. We also had salads that were fresh and delicious. Very good drink list and great service. I would definitely go back.
Food was very good. Service good. Ambiance was very nice and soothing.
Great outdoor dining area. One single unisex bathroom is a huge problem. Food was good, very pricey.
Beautiful garden dining. Very relaxed and wonderful place.
Food and service were both outstanding. We were here for brunch on Mothers Day and stormy weather overnight required inside dining...we're were in a small room on the second floor of the carriage house which was a bit cramped. Delicious grits with pimento cheese and banana pecan waffle with syrup. We'll be back on our next visit to New Orleans
Love the ambience and the food!
One of my favorite spots for brunch! Reasonable prices, perfect sized portions, and wonderful dishes!
This place was great. Food and service was spot on. I wish the weather would have cooperated in order to sit on the patio which seemed like it was awesome. Next time!
I would highly recommend Cafe Amelie for anyone visiting New Orleans. Wonderful courtyard ambience and cozy inside dining made it special BUT the food is fantastic. We actually ate the starters as our meal and it was plenty. My husband had the beautiful and tasty strawberry and goat cheese salad which he shared with me, the gumbo which he also shared which was in true Louisiana style, and the oysters which I'm not a fan of, but he raved about them. I had the shrimp and grits which again was absolutely delicious. As if we didn't have enough food already we couldn't pass up the desserts. The melted chocolate cake and ice cream and the cherry almond bread pudding were both to die for. Again don't miss this lovely place while visiting New Orleans and expect to be treated like Kings and Queens as the service was impeccable.
Delightful brunch...server very helpful in making our choices. The patio is charming; sweet surprise in the Quarter. Dining room a little loud but it didn’t take away from a lovely dining experience....would recommend to anyone except maybe families with young children.
A truly remarkable restaurant! We have been going for years, and our daughter had a beautiful wedding there 7 years ago. The atmosphere, food and service are outstanding! Danny, the owner, is a terrific guy, and made sure that our daughter's wedding was a wonderful event! Annie Coleman from San Diego
The most beautiful courtyard dining experience in New Orleans is afforded by Cafe Amelie. Add to that wonderful food and great service, and it’s a place not to miss. Being able to dress casually is also a plus. We love CA for lunch especially.
Correcto.
Just ok. For ambience yes for clean water glasses and forks no.
Food ok. Service is like Los Angeles - young and hipster.
Shrimp and Grits are to Die for! Love the courtyard atmosphere. A must visit in the French Quarter
This space has a beautiful courtyard. This visit the Gardenia's, Magnolias and Confederate Jasmine were all blooming. Our food was delicious. I had an appetizer and a salad as a main course. The appetizer was a Shrimp and grits dish. I had it several times in other restaurants over the last few days. This one was the very best. Make a reservation for sure. Must see restaurant.
The food was incredible (especially the oysters) and the service from Cat was exceptional (Gracias!)
A lovely garden atmosphere lets you know you are in New Orleans.
Highly recommend...one of the best meals we had all week.
What a beautiful & delicious spot in the quarter. Will most definitely return here when I come back to town!
This was the first dinner of our vacation and it will be difficult to top the overall evening. The weather was pleasant and we were able to sit in a beautiful courtyard. The service was friendly and efficient. The food, starting with two different salads, the entrees, and dessert were all wonderful. We were allowed to dine at a leisurely pace and could not have asked for a better experience. I’ll n a city with many wonderful restaurants, we would very happily return to Cafe Amelie.
Cant undertand the rating on this. Great garden view. Service was very unattentive. Oyster app was soupy and fishy. Seared ahi was cooked like tunafiah can. Seemed like no management around to overlook
Great food. Accommodating staff. So glad we got a reservation early.
This is a lovely spot with excellent service and delicious food. I highly recommend it!
We reserved a brunch spot for 11am, and were seated on the patio promptly after arrival. We certainly felt we had the best seats, right in the courtyard’s center. We each had a cocktail, and lunch sandwiches.
My husband had the catfish po’boy and really enjoyed it.
I had the Moroccan lamb sloppy joe. It’s one of the best sloppy joes I’ve had!
This was definitely worth a visit because of the atmosphere and food, plus it’s in a fun location near local shops.
They forgot both of our apps and someone’s drink :( but other than that the food was good
Beautiful lunch in the courtyard. Bathe the food and service were excellent.
The outdoor area is beautiful - very open but still somehow cozy! The food and cocktails are delicious. It felt like an escape from the craziness of the city. Highly recommend, can't wait to go back!
Really cute court yard and the food and service was very good. We were a little surprised to see that the restaurant allowed dogs to be present in the courtyard during dinner. One diner had an extremely large white dog laying at their feet during dinner. The dog was well behaved but when leaving stood up and did a through shake which sent dog hair flying. If I had been seated near that table I would have been extremely unhappy to have dog hair flying around my food.
beautiful courtyard setting; outstanding food and service - a must visit!
Best gumbo on the planet. One of the most gorgeous restaurants. Great service always.
What a lovely New Orleans dining experience. The staff was attentive, the back yard was exploding in twinkly lights and greenery, and the food was a modern take on New Orleans classics. I went on a date and we thought it was just perfect.
