Nestled in the historic 150-year-old Princess of Monaco Courtyard and Carriage House on Royal Street in the French Quarter, Café Amelie is a rare combination of superb Louisiana fare served in a lush, enchanting New Orleans courtyard setting.
There is an $8.00 per person charge for all desserts served that are not from our kitchens.
It was my favorite person’s birthday
My boyfriend and I had dinner here for our anniversary, and it was amazing! The setting is gorgeous, and the staff is so sweet! When booking the reservation we were able to choose that it was for our anniversary, and they brought us out a free little treat! It was very sweet. The items are a bit expensive, but we knew that going in there. Would definitely recommend.
Food was good but the service was disinterested at best. We arrived after 8 and all anyone could talk to us about was how they were closing the kitchen at 8:45 and if we wanted to eat we had to order quickly. The whole wait staff acted like they couldn't wait to go home. There are many other options in the French quarter. Look elsewhere.
Don’t waste your time and money on such place.
I was expecting a decent breakfast. The plate came out as if it was in the refrigerator for quite some time so I had to return it because it tasted disgusting. Ordered a salad instead and I still regret every single dollar I spent there.
Just go to Meril and you won’t want to go anywhere else
PERFECT SPOT FOR A SUNDAY BRUNCH WILL RETURN FOR DINNER IN A FEW WEEKS.
The courtyard is lush and beautiful with plants and trees. There is so much shade we were very comfortable sitting outside in July for brunch. Service was excellent and everything we ate was delicious! I highly recommend Cafe Amelie.
Lovely oasis in the heart of all the craziest of NOLA. We we able to eat in the courtyard under the beautiful tree canopies in July. Service was wonderful and the menu was well done
Lovely date night
We really enjoyed dining outdoors in the lovely courtyard. The food was delicious and we definitely recommend it.
Every time we are in NOLA Cafe Amelie is a go to place for dinner. The meals have been great and sitting in the courtyard is wonderful. This past Tuesday they were off their game a bit. Maybe it was the rain that closed the courtyard and had to seat everyone inside. It was not that busy. I ordered the pasta special of the day. It was linquine and shrimp in garlic sauce. It tasted fine but I only had 3 small to medium shrimp in the dish. My dining partner had the lamb meatloaf. It was a bit dry and crusty around the edge and the thyme seasoning was overwhelming. We mentioned it to our server and she offered us a complimentary dessert - Creole cheesecake. It was not really tasty until you ate to the crust. Like I said.. A bit of an off day. It happens
Server was very good he recommended that we try shrimp and grits it was very good and this is coming from a person who is not a big seafood eater I would recommend this place to others
The food was absolutely delicious.
We had our anniversary dinner at 6:30 pm in 7/19 and it was a good experience. We wanted to sit outside in the courtyard but it was a blazing hot day so we sat inside and was seated near the bar. It Was not the romantic setting I was seeking but the food was good and the service was also. I would give it a 7 or 8 out of 10. We are locals and know what to expect in New Orleans.
This is a jewel in the heart of the French Quarter. The food is casual and delicious. The garden is the place to be, with a fountain and beautiful old trees framing the brick buildings, it is a romantic bistro setting. We actually witnessed a young man proposing to his girlfriend!
Great food and service! It’s a must when visiting New Orleans.
Fantastic service & ambience. Salmon was over cooked: oysters were superb.
Cafe Amelie is by far one of my favorite restaurants in New Orleans. I went here for a birthday dinner during Essence Fest. It was surprisingly very quiet and quaint for the city to be so packed. The service was great and the food was absolutely amazing. I took a bit of everyone's entree at my table and I was not disappointed. The food is fresh and well seasoned. I can eat here for brunch or dinner. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Plus the ambience outside is great for photo opps!
beautiful outside setting, fabulous food and friendly staff
The food was surprisingly uninspired. They rely heavily on pasta making most of their dishes bland.
Spectacular, shaded courtyard for dining with fountain. Excellent service and food. A wonderful way to spend a few hours.
Great setting, awesome food, really good service. The Brussels sprouts were perfectly crunchy and roasted and the dates and bacon on top were spot on. The lamb meatloaf is to die for, ordered it because I had been craving meatloaf, this was incredibly flavorful.
This place was very nice because of the outside seating. The food was delicious. The portions were a bit small but if you order an appetizer or a salad you'll have plenty. Would definitely recommend for a date night!
Awesome BLT sandwiches! They recognized our anniversary with complimentary champagne. Highly recommend for the outdoor courtyard dining and excellent service.
This was a nice night out but my sister couldn’t find a dish that she liked that wasn’t spicy. The food was ok but the ambience was outstanding.
One of the best restaurants that we went to in New Orleans and enjoyed it even more than Galatoire's.
The outside patio was really nice and did not notice heat because of all the fans.
Food and drinks were excellent. It was great.
Can't wait to come back again.
Restaurant opens at 11am for Saturday brunch. Service was a little lacking. My salad came out at the same time as my meal. Food was good overall but not a standout experience for NOLA restaurants.
It was a perfect night for 4 professional colleagues who are friends to sit in the garden and enjoy a delicious dinner with great wine. The oysters with spinach and artichokes were amazing and the strawberry salad was fresh and tasty. The salmon with horseradish was perfectly cooked as per my request of medium well and the sauce was tasty - not overwhelming. We shared a delicious chocolate mousse and a berry crumble for dessert. The wine list had several of my higher end favorites and was reasonably priced. Even though there are so many restaurants in NOLA I would return without hesitation.
Best gumbo I had while visiting Nola!!!
The place is so so cute! A must go!
Husband and I eat here often. They never disappoint
We thought the food would be more "thoughtful". Jambalaya pasta had huge chunks of tough sausage and odd pieces of chicken? with parmesan that refused to melt. It was not what we expected. Reviews led us to believe that this was a gourmet restaurant, not what we found. Would not go back.
Very good experience for first-time business lunch. Pretty outside seating; but, we opted for inside table in small space because it was uncomfortably warm outside. All inside tables are affected by bar noise, which made business conversation difficult. Server was quickly present, we soon had ice tea served, and our food was nicely presented and very good. I’ll bring my wife in a couple of weeks.
The outdoor space was beautiful, the service was friendly and the food was good.
Second time here and just as amazing. Great food, wonderful service...Michael took great care of us and we look forward to coming back soon.
It is so nice to sit in the beautiful courtyard, though I wish the had an extra fan or two. It was still pretty warm even at 9pm. Crab cake app was very good & so was the pork chop entree.
Caution!! 2 steps down from building into courtyard. We had a pretty nasty wipeout in our group from a missed step.
Very nice restaurant. Great food, good service and an amazing setting and courtyard
Beautiful setting. Awesome food. Highly recommend!
The food was delicious and the drink menu was refreshing. The hostess and waitress made the night very special for my girlfriend, now fiancée, as I asked her to marry me!
Best shrimp and grits I’ve EVER had. Loved Michael. Will be back soon.
Great meal and service, dinner outside in garden, remote from busy, noisy Bourbon street.
The food was great, especially the pork chop. Cooked perfectly and the sides were wonderful. Great job and the outdoor patio looks awesome even though we sat inside.
