Best casual brunch in the quarter. Would recommend to anyone.
Lovely courtyard dining. The meal was delicious except for wilted greens in the salad and they were out of Crown Royal.
Beautiful courtyard, great atmosphere, food was wonderful. Service was a little slow but not bad. Would definitely come back
We enjoyed our experience very much. Had several appetizers. Fun tasting experience.
Food was really delicious (the shrimp and grits is a must); probably our best meal on our vacation, but they did not use our opentable reservation which resulted in them not knowing it was my boyfriends birthday. Also, service was severe lacking despite it being not busy at all on a week day. Our waitress seemed “nice” but also impatient with us (my boyfriend gently asked for a new glass because his was dirty, and she “happily” took it away but brought a new one back by slamming it on the edge of the table) and the hostess was quite curt when we asked her to take our photograph in front of the fountain. She snapped one bad photo and went back to chatting with the other hostess.
Overall, fantastic meal somewhat ruined by service that made us feel uncomfortable as if we were bothering them. You would think that if we were going to spend ~$100 on a week day lunch for two, they would treat us a bit better. There was another waitress that was great with her table, but ours and the hostess were pretty impatient with us. Very disappointed since we were looking forward to eating there all week during our trip. Go figure.
I was really looking forward to eating here on our trip , but to be completely honest ,my husband and I was not impressed with the menu selection offered , the service of the waitstaff was not particularly friendly or outgoing , and the taste of the food was just ok especially for the price. I will say the ambiance in the outdoor patio is a nice atmosphere but the outdoor tables and chairs we were seated at were very wobbly and almost afraid they would collapse easily . I would personally skip this restaurant and spend your money at a nicer restaurant on your list
The place should have been colder considering it was extremely hot outside. The fries poutine was bland. The grilled salmon with asparagus was divine. The pork chop with grits and corn was amazing. I would definitely recommend this place.
Love the decor of this place, the food is always good and there are no televisions. Nice courtyard, quiet and relaxing; the waitstaff is friendly and efficient even at weekend brunches when it can be very busy. Only negative no jam for croissants!
A very special first dining experience for our oldest granddaughter. She loved it. The waitress was very nice and accommodating. Only negative surprise was that the bar did not have grenadine. Go figure. I would like chairs that have cushions.
Food and service are excellent. Gorgeous courtyard seating, even in 95 degree heat. They have huge fans set up everywhere and the tables are shaded. We walked all day and still chose to sit outside. A dining oasis.
We were in town for a convention. A friend gave me a gift card, which we had to use on Wednesday since they were closed Monday and Tuesday. Making the reservations, which were suggested, was an easy process. The food was great, and the service was wonderful. It was too warm to eat out in the courtyard, yet several people chose to dine outside. I will definitely make a return trip. The menu looked very interesting, and the seem to vary daily.
Good food, beautiful setting in the courtyard and a great server,
Food was very good, small inside dining area with large courtyard area. Wine list was small but adequate. Service was a little lacking that nite, but in their defense, it started to rain and the staff had to move all the courtyard diners upstairs to an area not normally used. We still enjoyed it and would go back.
It was okay. Overpriced for what it was, and it wasn’t well done. Also, we saw our waitress touch the trash, but not sure if she washed her hands after...
The atmosphere is lovely.
Cafe Amelie brunch on the Sunday after Running of the Bulls is a tradition for us. We enjoy this so much and this year we had a newby with us who also loved it. We enjoyed the poutine for the table and ordered lots of shrimp and grits because everyone has to try it, along with the baked oyster dish, the pulled pork egg dish and the French Toast. The cocktails are amazing so definitely save room for them. We tried the Orange Blossom which was good and the penicillin stole the show!
The service was great. The chicken and waffles was fantastic. We had friends here from California and she is not very adventurous and she loved the chicken and waffles. We dined inside with a view of the courtyard. Very good choice.
Wonderful food and service... will be going back for sure.
Great date spot Fast service. Love the outdoor ambiance
We were seated a table overlooking the beautiful courtyard and amazing drinks and appetizers. The waitress was decent but not on top of the service as I had wished. They brought out our main courses only to bring me something we didn’t order and I waited for my correct meal as my girlfriend ate hers. When mine finally came it was dry as if they had cooked it as quickly as possible and the veggies seemed to be previously frozen and not appealing at all. Once the bill came I realized we charged for both of the meals we ordered and the meal in error. While not a huge deal and it was easily fixed it showed me the attention to detail and effort to rectify the situation was nonexistent. Perhaps I’d go back for brunch or drinks but for the money, I can have a nice dinner elsewhere.
It was a fun place for us since it was our first time to eat in NOLA in the French Quarter. The food was good but not exceptional but we had great service.
We came here for my husband’s birthday, been to New Orleans about 15 times always wanted to try it, looked interesting. We both were very disappointed with the dinner menu, only 2 specials. There’s quite a few pasta dishes, we are not past fans, hardly any fish or your typical New Orleans food. We ended up having 2 appetizers, the goat cheese & fig on fruit bread & the baked oysters with some kind of garlic toast, both were very good but we left there & went to the Royal House for a dinner. Outside ambience was great but like I said menu small & non appealing
Great food! We sat outside and it was a perfect setting for great good.
Was in town for Essence Festival 2018; came for Sunday brunch. The Sunny Side Up with Cochon de Lait is hands down one of the best things I've ever eaten! See you next time, Cafe Amelie!
Great service & the atmosphere and food is amazing! Get the poutine as a starter. I highly recommend getting a reservation.
Cafe' Amelie is a wonderful dining spot for any occasion! The outdoor patio is charming during nice weather.
Very cute and romantic atmosphere.great for a date with someone special
Highly recommend for special occasions! They went above and beyond.
The prettiest courtyard dining in NOLA!! Also best gumbo! Impeccable service and overall a perfect place for date night!
Beautiful restaurant, with a stunning patio. We had the poutine as an app and shared an entree, as we were not super hungry. The food was great, and our waitress recommended we go to 21 Amendment for after dinner cocktails. Wonderful suggestion. If I am ever back in New Orleans, I will be stopping at both again!
Quaint cafe. My husband wasn’t a fan but would be a great spot for a girls luncheon.
This was quite possibly the best meal I’ve had all year!!!! Incredible all around! Get the pork chop - you won’t regret it. Can’t wait to come back next time I’m in town!
Food was good. Service was on the slow side. Took about an hour to receive food.
Noise level was very high. Almost to the point of making conversation too difficult.
Almost seemed like a rowdy bar scene.
4 of us had a garden table. Despite the June heat, it was very beautiful. Service was excellent and attentive. Food was great too. I there could be an additional fan near our table, it would have been more comfortable. Over all it was great! I certainly will go back again if I visited New Orleans.
This place is truly a hidden gem. Looks like you are walking into the courtyard of a home in the Quarter...and you sort of are! I dined inside rather than on the patio. In cooler weather this would have been lovely, however it's summer, it's New Orleans, and it's tropical. There's nothing that can sap the interest in food like excessive heat and sweating. This is why we use air conditioning. The inside is original bones...a smallish dining room and a smallish bar, but just right for the night. I watched a number of diners outside...several ended up succumbing to coming inside. I beat them to it and snagged a lovely two top all to myself. My servers Michael and Taylor were very attentive. I ordered small plates so I would have enough room for their sinful Doberges cake...which is really a take on the Hungarian dobos torte cake that I remember from travels to Hungary. I started with the beet, goat cheese and pecan salad. What an amazing blend of tastes...just wonderful...fresh...and delightful. I added chicken to that, and thankfully instead of tossing the chicken into the salad, the chicken came plated separately and was deliciously cooked with just the slightest amount of skin on several pieces...I couldn't bring myself to leave the skin on the plate. It was just that good. Tonight's doberges cake was strawberry, and it was delightful...sugary, light, beautiful and tasty...all of the above. I would highly recommend this restaurant...hands down the culinary talents that come to your table were better than a meal I had a few nights later in a much more upscale restaurant. I would rather have dined at Amelie again.
Our last day in N'awlins so lunch before gaining off to the airport. Glad we booked as everyone seems to want to eat there. Lovely courtyard but we ate inside as it was so warm. Lovely interior - old French style. Lovely friendly and efficient service. We had the potatoes with cheese and Cochin. Wonderful. Then giant muffletta. GOurgeous.
Would love to dinner here some day when we are back. Nice looking menu!
Oh and super wines too.
The courtyard provided a beautiful setting but the food was sub par. Easily our worst meal in New Orleans. one of our dishes came out missing a key component of the dish and was drowning in sauce. The service was also unenthusiastic at best. The staff seemed like they would rather not have the business. With so many top notch dining options in the city, you can safely pass on this one.
Charming outdoor courtyard, food under-whelming, would not return.
We went for brunch and the service was great and fast but food was just fair.
Beautiful atmosphere and our dinner was very good. We went in June so it was still daylight outside at the time of our 7pm reservation, I'm sure the outside patio is gorgeous once the sun goes down.
