Bakery items and brunch is excellent. Server’s attitude could definitely improve to make our experience excellent.
Loud and spotty service but love the food.
Cafe and Restaurant Alma are probably my favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities. Consistently great food, service and cozy, yet vibrant, atmosphere.
I have dined here many times, never been disappointed. Love the chicken thighs, lamb burger, and antipasta plate. Cocktails and service are top notch.
Second time there with my wife and two daughters. Very "cool" place, very bohemian feel, with a touch of fun. Very much a local treasure - excellent menu and assorted from vegan to keto, as well as normal, but with a high-end feel.
We will be back at our next opportunity
Continues to be highest quality food and service. Brought our twin teenage daughters for the second time. Our server could not have been more attentive. Wish we wouldn’t have been places in the back corner table but never were neglected or ignored. Food was outstanding and cocktails perfect.
Attentive service and good food.
I love this place! I've been here several times and I am never disappointed.
Alma for brunch-10:45 reservation for four arrived 1/2 hr early. I told the hostess I knew we were early, but asked if we could be seated. She said yes & that it would be just a few minutes to clean a table. We purchased some treats to take home from the pastry case from a rude older man then waited inside the door. One of the hosts asked us to move to clear out the doorway , even though we were standing against the wall. When we moved we ended up with a family sitting at the bar by the front window to our backs. It felt awkward & cramped, and very much felt like we were in the way. The older man from register checked on the family at the bar behind us & started clearing their plates & literally put the back of his arm on my youngest (16) son’s back & PUSHED him. Not hard, it wasn’t a shove, but still a push. It wasn’t necessary, a simple “excuse me” would have worked. At this point we had been waiting for the table we had been told just needed to be cleaned for nearly 15 minutes. We asked the hostess how much longer, & were told the same thing. This time though, she went to the back presumably to check. When she came back about 5 minutes later she seated us. Then...we sat at our table for 12 minutes before we were even greeted. One of the ladies from the hostess stand brought us water & when we said we were ready to order she said she would have to get our server. Another 5 minutes passed before a server who I had observed looking at our table at least 5 times finally came to our table. She wasn’t friendly at all, never smiled & never introduced herself. When our food came out we were missing a side of bacon & my son’s croissant was cold. There was no apology, for anything. Not the pushing, the wait, the missing item or the cold food.
The food we received was delicious, but if it had not been my husband’s birthday we would have left without eating. Such a shame. The food here is amazing & our 1st 2 visits were good. This one was so bad though we will not return.
Delicious brunch! The Monty and the French toast were both terrific.
Interesting and tasty food, pleasant vibe and ambiance. Definitely recommended!
Had to ask for coffee refills but excellent otherwise!
Superb food. We ate in the café because we could not get a reservation for the restaurant. It was all good and definitely worth revisiting.
Great atmosphere, great food, good services. Small mix up in our drink orders, but was an easy and quick fix, the staff were on top of it and very nice. Cannot get over how good the food was. Honestly a great place for brunch or dinner and for any occasion, it's just very laid back. I will be coming here again.
Website stated availability of vegan menu but not entirely true. Not a great place for vegans or vegetarians.
Delicious brunch food and beverages. The breakfast potatoes were legit, as were our main dishes. Lovely pastries too. Fits so well with Restaurant Alma.
We absolutely loved everything about Cafe Alma. Food was great, our waitress was very professional and on top of things without being too much in your face. Nice ambiance and fun drinks. Breakfast the next morning was on point as well! Highly recommend!!
We visited for Restaurant Week so we didn’t order from the regular menu, but the food was amazing. We normally eat at the restaurant side, so we weren’t sure what to expect. The portions were just right, and the waiter was able to expertly explain the cooking methods and ingredients of the dishes. While we did have to specifically ask for the wine list from the restaurant (the cafe has their own), our waiter happily obliged and offered to grab someone who was more familiar with the wine pairings from the restaurant menu. While I do still prefer the restaurant, I would definitely revisit the cafe again when looking for a more price conscious (yet delicious) meal.
Great food and service. I've never been disappointed.
It was our first time at Cafe Alma. We enjoyed the food and the service. Everyone loved the antipasti, saffron rice and the miso broiled salmon. This place has the right ambiance and the food is delicious.
It took quite a while for someone to take our order, but the food was worth the wait. Wonderful! Would definitely recommend!
We went for restaurant week and also to celebrate a birthday. Neither of us had been before but were blown away. The ambience and decor was amazing. The service and food was wonderful. Everything was worth it. Definitely coming back!
Enjoyed a FABULOUS RW menu and experience!!!
Excellent food and service. Great Restaurant Week menu!
Alma is one of my favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities. The food is always top notch. I hadn't been here since the remodel. I went for restaurant week and the value was fantastic! We were told our table would be a few minutes. The hostess handled it well and managed our expectations. Once we were seated, it took a little longer than expected for us to get our order in but we didn't mind because again, they managed our expectations well. Once our food came out, it was delicious as expected. We ordered the Antipasti Cured Meats and Chickpea, Farro and Chicpeas for apps and the latter was fantastic! For entrees we ordered the Miso Glazed Salmon and the Spaghetti and both were fantastic! We were pretty at this point as we also ordered the bread but we closed our night with the Brownie Sundae. The only real complaint I would mention is that we spent about 1.5 hours seated. My companion mentioned that the bistro chair, while fitting with the cafe, were not comfortable and she is not old.
I just really like this place. Restaurant Alma (next door) is tops in my book for fine dining, and this cafe is a perfect compliment. Good coffee, pastries, and lunch items. Just a solid pick for just about any reason.
Always amazing food done well and not at all pretentious.
It was good, not great. They need more $20-25 entree options with larger portions vs the small $15 ones that are not marketed as sharing or small plates. The King Crab Toast was good but not enough food and the potatoes they paired it with just didn't make sense. Came with a side of what seemed to be plain mayonnaise.
This was our time to Cafe Alma and we really enjoyed it. The food was excellent and our waiter was outstanding as well. We will definitely be back.
Flavors were great, the quality of the food was high, and so were the portion sizes. I can't wait to come back again!
Cafe Alma is a neighborhood treasure. Excellent food and wonderful service
Fabulous service food and best happy hour in town!
Best cafe in Minneapolis. Incredible service and ridiculously good food. A+ food.
Loved the atmosphere!
Food and cocktails were excellent!
We will definitely go again!
I have eaten at Alma 15+ times. The service is great. The food is wonderful. I could eat fried cauliflower every day. It is that good. The drinks are creative. The space is welcoming. Alma is good for any occasion and no occasion at all.
Our waitress was wonderful! We were celebrating my mom's 60th birthday and she made sure to make it special for us.
easily our favorite restaurant in town right now!!
Good experience overall. The food was delicious and of high quality. The ambiance was relaxing, while not being overly quiet. The service was excellent, but I would highly recommend reserving a table in advance.
On street parking in the area is difficult to find. Otherwise, a great experience.
Went for an early valentines date, unfortunately I thought I reserved for the restaurant not the café. Please make more clear on your interface. In the end, it was great...the service & food was amazing & they offered to get us in later that evening to the restaurant. We didn’t want to make a fuss so we stayed in the cafe, which they made an absolutely pleasurable dinner experience.
