Awesome servers and bartenders...
Great food with great service. Options for vegetarian and very accommodating for vegan or customers with dietary restrictions.
Great meal as always. Had a shrimp pasta, husband had a pork dish served over polenta. Great bread. Excellent apple crisp for dessert.
Amazing food and service
Great. I love this place. Perfect for a nice, informal dinner on a cold January night. I asked for a cocktail recommendation and the server suggested something with a name like What Jeff Did in Mexico City. Weird name, but I really liked the drink.
As usual, the food was delicious. We had the cheese platter, which always includes their house made ricotta topped with olive oil and honey. Love their bread and crackers. I had the lemon orzo pasta with shrimp, mascapone, and delicata squash, all of which tempered the lemony edge. My husband had the lamb burger - always wonderful - with the crispy potatoes. I highly recommend that dish. I had the coconut tapioca dessert with pineapple while my husband had the apple crisp. The ginger ice cream that came with it was particularly wonderful. I love Alma!!!
Love this place! The food and drinks are always amazing. My parents ask to go here every time they visit. It’s not cheap, but you will always be happy and surprised with the food and the service.
OK to hang out and decent service , food not so much
I live everything about Alma - the main restaurant, the hotel and the Cafe. It is so nice to have this relaxed with very good food iption.
My mom's favorite restaurant! She loves the lamb burger and crispy potatoes. Our server was very fun and food never disappoints. She was also grateful it was open on New Years day.
Cafe Alma was the perfect place to have New Years brunch. The food was delicious and the service was perfect!
We still can’t agree on which of the six dishes were the best. Dinner New Years Eve was spectacular! Food, drinks, service were even better than my expectations (and I have been there many times). A truly wonderful experience.
Wonderful NYE and double birthday spot. We waited and got the corner booth and it was so cozy. Service, food everything was fantastic. Highly recommend.
Excellent food and service on early New Year’s Eve.
Excellent service. Delectable food. Charming valet! 😎
Had amazing an brunch with delicious lattes and the morty sandwich. Best part was the cinnamon roll pastry fir dessert!
We've dined at Cafe Alma many times. The food is still wonderful, if not always cooked as requested (in a previous visit, a lamb burger ordered medium rare, arrived medium). But the service, which I once would have rated 5 stars, has been changing. In the past, Cafe Alma's staff were remarkably welcoming, and the servers polished, professional and warm. Once the cafe began accepting reservations, we found if we made a reservation we'd get a better table . That's fair. For our most recent visit, we reserved a week in advance and arrived a few minutes before our 5 pm slot. The bar was full, but most of the tables still open. The hostess escorted us to the less-desirable back room; when we requested a front-room table instead, she sighed with annoyance, left us for several minutes to consult the manager, and finally returned to direct us to a narrow table for two in the front room. We saw on the opposite wall a row of empty, wider tables for two. There were also two empty booths. Although we'd love a booth, where it's much easier to hear one's dining partner, we recognize the cafe's desire to save booths for groups of four. So we asked for one of the wider tables for two (where conversation would be easier than at the narrow tables). Now the hostess seemed really annoyed, and left us standing awkwardly while she left, we presumed, to again consult with management. After five minutes, a server approached and asked if we needed help. She found the manager, a pleasant woman who said the hostess had already approved the desired table. News to us, but we gladly accepted the table and enjoyed a pleasant meal with an excellent server. About 20 minutes after we sat down, a younger couple was seated at an empty booth. No others joined them. Hmm. We finished our meal in ample time to turn over the table and can't understand why the cafe was so reluctant to seat us well. We're a presentable, active couple in our 60s, but we didn't feel very welcome. That's a shame.
Excellent food and service! I wish we knew her name but our server was really warm and helpful. We’ll definitely be back!!
My husband and I live nearby and come here fairly often, usually on Sunday night. He loves Alma Restaurant and has dined there for business many times. I prefer the more casual cafe. The food is usually very good. My husband loves the whipped ricotta appetizer, but when a server brought it out the bread was well beyond toasted, it was heavily charred. He should not even have brought it to the table like that. So my husband requested new bread, which was brought out promptly. I got off to a good start with the panzanella salad, which was very tasty, but my dinner went down hill from there. I ordered the lemon orzo with shrimp, which was mediocre at best. The shrimp dissolved in my mouth in a grainy mush. I've never had cooked shrimp with such a bad texture. The sauce was nothing special, and I have previously enjoyed the rigatoni and fusilli dishes. My husband was happy with his lamb burger and apple crisp. I decided to skip my usual chocolate cake for dessert in favor of the the tropical coconut tapioca pudding. I usually like these flavors, but this is a strange combination that did not work for me. I would not recommend it. I hope this was just an off night.
Fantastic- never disappoints This time I tried the spicy turkey burger and was so happy I did. Perfect level of spicy and great mix of flavors.
The "Morty" brunch sandwich might be the best thing I ever ate.
Great food and great service!
Love Michael! Miss the steak on the menu :(
Really friendly staff and the customers were friendly too.
Three of us were on the cafe side for dinner and drinks. The food and drinks were universally outstanding and generally reasonably priced. Service was perfect too!
We visited Care Alma on a Sunday evening. Service was great and food was outstanding. It wasn't terribly busy at that time, so noise was not a problem.
A beautiful table, delicious food, a charming, competent server. One of the best dining experiences I've had in the Twin Cities.
This was my first visit to Cafe Alma. We made a noon reservation and got there a little early so didn't expect a table. However, we didn't expect to be seated 10 mins late especially when it appeared that several groups had left and there was adequate time to bus tables. Plus, in the Cafe, there is no real good place to wait. The high tables/chairs are in front of a busy counter and in the doorway. I would go back and I would give it a recommendation for the food, but I would explain this drawback in case there were special needs (elderly) for waiting.
Four of us had Sunday brunch and each ordered something different. Everyone raved about the food she ordered. We sat in the back room, which is quieter than being out front. The service was excellent. We were on our way to a concert and our server kept everything moving so we would be on time. Excellent dining experience.
Lovely place, food was great, service was good. Wish the portions were a little larger for the price (and our appetite!)
Alma always impresses with food and service. It was busy but the server took great care of us and the food was excellent as always.
Interesting and delicious food!! Great service. We are in the ala carte side, which really they should convert the whole restaurant to as the other side is more stuffy. Try the buffalo potato chips!!
We love this place. Britney was our server this last time! Great
Food was not as good as I expected. Grilled bread was black. We sent it back and the next batch that came was also black. If you like blackened bread you'll like this!
Delicious food & great service!! Look forward to eating there again:)
We had a really nice visit with friends. Excellent service, excellent food, excellent value, lively but not so loud that we couldn't easily talk over our meal. For most of us it was our first visit to Cafe Alma, and we will be back!
Staff who checked me in was rude.
Amazing service, the food was so unique and delicious. Love the atmosphere and dimmed lighting. Would HIGHLY recommend.
The food was good, but not great. We expected more. We’ve all been to Alma before, so we’re looking forward to an exceptional meal. Probably should have gone to the restaurant, not the Cafe.
