Cafe Alfredo Ratings and Reviews
We took my Mom and my son to dinner. When we first got there we were greeted by a very nice lady. We sat and were served right away by our server. We ordered chicken for our son. It came out RAW. My husband brought it to their attention and we didn't even have anyone address the fact the sent out RAW chicken to a 2 year old. Food was otherwise ok but very dissatisfied by this and will not return.
This was the most awful experience. I had out of town guests and everything about Cafe Alfredo was wrong. Took 6 of us to a table for 4, had to find another table that wasnt set up (we had reservations). Had to ask for butter/oil for our bread 4 times, it was 90 minutes before our food came, one meal didn’t even come. The food was terrible. None if the wait staff acted like they knew what to do. I would never go back or recommend this place to anyone!
I walked in and they warned me that they were short of people to serve. I saw what I thought was a reasonable amount of staff for the amount of people in the restaurant, so I stayed. Big mistake. If you decide to go to this place and they tell you that they are short of staff, go somewhere else. It took forever to get our meal. On the bright side they kept bringing us fresh bread which was very good dipped in spicy oil. They also gave my son a free beer while we waited forever. I do feet that for the length of time we were there we should have been offered free desert, however, that may have been another hour wait. Once the food was there it was very good.
Service was slow and food was bland. The spaghetti and meatballs tasted like a can of tomatoes sauce from store. No flavor of garlic or basil, onion etc, Caesar salad was so-so, missing a distinct garlic flavor. The dish of the day chicken cacciatore was good. We had a veal and chicken Marsala. Nothing to write home about. And the fettuccini Alfredo lacked the creaminess you expect. Service was slow. Took forever to get our entrees. Overall disappointing.
Food as always was phenomenal. The service however was sub par. Was served water and bread upon arrival, but waited over 10 minutes for our server to arrive and take drink orders. Then it took another 20 mjnutes for him to take our meal order....and for a second round of beer and wine I had to step up to the bar and get another bottle of wine and another beer for our table (which I paid for at the bar). The calamari tasted good but was cold, probably because it sat in the window forever. He oso buco was great as always. Then it took forever to get our deserts ordered. To top it off he tried to charge me a second time for the bottle of wine I paid for at the bar (because he neglected to check on us forever) and I had to have him remove it from the check. Food great! Service could be better.
We went to Cafe Alfredo with another couple for restaurant week. We ordered off the $35 dinner menu. My friend and I had the portobella mushroom stuffed with gorgonzola. It came out swimming in an unattractive brown gravy which was totally unnecessary and unattractive. The stuffing was a melted blob of gorgonzola. My husband and his friend had the fried calamari served with marinara sauce which they said was good. I ordered the breaded red snapper served over pasta. The portion of fish was very large and prepared properly. The pasta however was swimming in a wine sauce which was overkill and too rich. My husband had the ravioli with pesto and he said it was very good but a bit on the rich side as well. He had the tiramisu for dessert which was good. My friend and I chose the small pot de creme dessert. When the waiter brought out the platter of assorted little cups, we asked him what each was, and he said, "I have no idea." So we guessed and picked 2 each. They were fine, but it would be better to know what we're eating. With so many fine restaurants in the area, I don't feel like I would go back there.
Very disappointed this time! Alfredo sauce was runny . Noodles on my husband ‘s noodles was not drained very good. When my sister asked about the charge for side of noodles he gave a price of 5 but was 10. Did not fix the bill! My husband said we will not be back to this place!
The place appeared to be a bit bleak, the waiter was not very refined , reluctant to offer any help or recommendations of food and drink choices, abrupt, and more on the "I am bored with you" side.
The menu was limited, stereotypical Italian offerings. The food was tasty, but the servings were small, and I felt them a bit over processed.
The desserts were supermarket quality.
The wine was OK, but expensive in this the context, just as the food was overpriced.
This was our 2nd time dining here and overall was disappointed. Just felt like everything was just average. Maybe post hurricane struggles? My food at first was lukewarm so had to send it back. They were very apologetic but still not as impressed as first visit.
We had a fabulous time. Our waiter saw to our every need and really, I think that is an impossible task -7 friends celebrating life, always talking about food and the next eating event. This one stayed on our list, we were there only about 6 weeks earlier. Half of us drove from Ft. Myers - through flood waters, hungry for the fish special and happy hour.
A poor experience. The food itself wasn't bad, but the portions were tiny. The restaurant was hot and overall uninviting. A group of older people showed up and refused to be seated next to us, presumably because we had four kids. We were the only people under 70 years old in the place. Not only were the portions abysmal, but we bought an adult entree for two kids to share and they charged us a $6 sharing fee. $24 for a tiny plate of fettuccine alfredo with chicken is bad enough, but $30 with the plate sharing fee is robbery. If you like overpaying for tiny portions in a hot restaurant, Cafe Alfredo might be your kind of place. Plus they tacked on 20% automatically for gratuity, which I would have left anyway even for the poor experience, but it is really crummy that they didn't give me a choice. There are too many places to eat in Naples for us to waste our time here.
Another great dinner at our go-to Italian restaurant in Shoppes at Vanderbilt. We enjoyed a wonderful cold Caesar salad, lightly fried calamari and veal marsala. Service was speedy and nice. The evening was very pleasant. I also love the inside-outside bar - so like an Italian restaurant.
