We were a party of 6.
I had dinner a couple of times at the last location. First time in the new space.
Perfection in the food, the atmosphere and the service.
I am pretty hard to please and so are my friends.
Hopping in the restaurant even on a Monday night. That should tell you something.
Branzino so fresh. Really liked the tomatoes and mozzarella and grilled shrimp with beans. I am gluten free and found MANY options.
Will certainly return!
Excellent service, followed up with superb food. From the appetizers to the entrees. Thank you.’
Very good food and service. Nice atmosphere. Will return.
Everything about this restaurant was great! I will definitely be coming back
Way too loud. Horrible acoustics. I like an energetic vibe but this was just too much. We had to yell just to hear each other. I wouldn't go back just for this alone, the noise level was that bad. The food was just ok. Not bad but not amazing. Nothing even close to Michelin-worthy food. Everything except for the mushroom soufflé was quite bland.
First time eating at Cafe Alaia! We were not disappointed! The food is the best Italian food I have had, other than going to Italy! Their portions are very nice size, you definitly go home full. Fresh homemade pasta yum! Our service was impeccable, from the time we were seated until we left. I highly recommend the Sformatino di Melanzane (eggplant souffle’, topped with burrata fondue & light tomato sauce) Delicious! Also the Pappardelle Al Ragu Di Agnello (homemade pappardelle, braised lamb ragu & shaved pecorino cheese).
The meal was absolutely delicious and prompt. Really enjoyed the ambience and the waiter was very attentive and sweet. Will definitely return!
Delicious food and great service!
My party of three ordered an appetizer each, another shared appetizer for the table, an entree each, and special special cocktail(s). All I could say is, “terrific, terrific, terrific, and terrific”. It was a first-time visit for my guests and “I did good”.
Food was good.
However, Waiter ware always try to hurry us.
They put away our dish while we ware eating ( did not finish to eat yet)
Finally. They brought bill , it’s like they let us go out.
We could not enjoy to dinner .
I was so disappointed.
We are local to Cafe Alaia, and it quickly becoming the preferred weekend dinner dine out treat on a a weekly basis. Food is legit great, wait staff is well trained, knowledgeable, and attentive, and value is bar none.
Food is excellent, generous portions, and service first class, we have been here many times amd always enjoy the experience. Only complaint is the noise level— the brick walls and wood without anything to dampen the sounds creates a very loud space
Everything was amazing! Superb food and cocktails in a fun energetic atmosphere with impeccable service.
Ok, but not as good as it was when it was smaller. Moving to a larger space, it did not maintain the quality and creativity that it had.
Drinks were outstanding, food was amazing, ambience was great. Service was seriously lacking warmth from the bar to the table …. I was in the industry for many years and it was disappointing to experience this in such a great place. The host was very sweet and greeted us with a smile but beyond that all i saw was men who didn’t smile.. We asked to swap shrimp for chicken on a dish and the answer was flat out no, with no further responses.. My friend thought that it was a joke and laughed but the server continued to ask if she still wanted the dish - Felt that was rude. The food is so good and I look forward to going back.. hopefully will have a different experience with staff.
We had a friendly and attentive waiter, and the food and wine were delicious. The noise level was very loud, and I was glad to be sitting in a corner and only with one other person so that I didn't need to raise my voice to be heard. It was very busy but the wait for food was not long and the restaurant had a great energy. If they could fix the acoustics I'd be back in a second.
Cozy upscale vibe. Delicious food. Great Service!
We only had lunch but it was very good and we decided to go back and try dinner soon so that’s a good sign!!!
We go to Alaia often, but only in good weather, when we sit outside, or at odd hours, when there are few patrons. Then we can enjoy the spectacular food, warm and friendly service, and good conversation. Inside when the restaurant is busy it is simply too noisy for an enjoyable experience.
Another great evening at Cafe Alaia. This was our third visit and again exceptional service & food
The outdoor seating available was fine. Fortunately the weather was mild since the town does mot permit outdoor heaters and we are not ready to dine indoors.
The menu is varied and interesting with helpful servers to assist in making a choice for both food and wine.
Great experience .. exceptional service and food ! Will be back
Urban sophistication in an ideal suburban setting. Food, service and ambience - all memorable.
amazing Italian with a twist; beautifully presented as well, with very attentive service. From the bread/spread to dessert, everything was delicious.
Fantastic eggplant souffle and lamb. My family enjoyed the Italian salad special, mussels, and mushroom crostini. The new waiter and busboy were so nice and helpful.
Excellent food, service and wine. The lamb chops were a standout. Only negative was the noise level. Do not recommend for people who are hearing-challenged.
Such a lovely spot and so convenient to the train. Food and atmosphere are top notch!
What a great experience at Cafe Alaia! It was our first time dining at the restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed each course. Highlights include the homemade pappardelle/ragu and the Galletto al Mattone (chicken cooked under a brick). The service was outstanding! We are looking forward to returning for dinner and treating friends and family to a fantastic meal that is truly authentic Italian cuisine.
Waiter was terrible...not accommodating to people with food allergies. Salmon was undercooked and good was just average in taste. Ate there twice & not impressed.
The food and service were excellent. We appreciate that the owner stopped by several times to check on us during the meal and as we were exiting to see if everything went well. We also were grateful that the owner turned off the air conditioning, which was on full blast during what had turned into a cold evening in Scarsdale.
Great authentic Italian food. Super fresh and healthy. We loved all our dishes except one - and when the waiter saw we weren’t eating it, he asked why. Nothing was wrong with it, just not our taste.... they took it off the bill. So, aslo great customer service!
It was our first time dining at Cafe Alaia, but won’t be our last! The setting is so cozy and rustic, the food absolutely delicious, and the service we received last night was top notch—our server was super knowledgeable about the wines offered and brought over two samples so I could decide which I’d prefer. Little touches like that make a great night out. Definitely recommend!
Nice place for lunch. Not as busy as it is at night which is nice.
Waiter attentive and lovely.
Appetizers and entrees are well prepared with fresh ingredients. We can always count on Cafe Alaia to offer the authentic Italian meals we are used to, although overly priced. On a negative note, the outside seating is uncomfortable, mainly due to small tables and very uncomfortable chairs. We have dined indoors, but the noise level is unbearable, almost as bad as their previous location. The background music could be better - maybe something to create a better Italian ambiance. All in all, we enjoy the food and excellent service and plan on returning soon.
Food was amazing, wonderful atmosphere, service was excellent. We really enjoyed ourselves, we will definitely be going back!
The food was incredible and the service attentive. The owner-and-chef came over to our table to ask how the food was for us. Then, when we were leaving at the end of the evening, he made it a point to introduce himself. A truly wonderful experience from start to finish.
It is consistently good with prompt and cordial service. Run don’t walk there!
Great !all was very good
Great food, always great service
