Café 43 Ratings and Reviews
We had a wonderful lunch after touring the Bush Library. We shared a superb cheeseburger, which was perfectly cooked, and Mrs. Bush's sandwich, which was also yummy, and fries. Also had a glass of William Hill Chardonnay. The service was perfect---attentive but not overbearing. We would definitely return!
Our waiter, Bernard was friendly, helpful, attentive and patient. One of the ladies in our group is 92. Bernard went out of his way to help her. She was worried the soup might be too spicy so he brought her some samples to taste before she ordered. Really thoughtful and patient.
Lunch was delicious. Highlight was seeing Mrs. Bush!
We will be back. Thank you!
This was my third visit. Every visit, I and my friends have had extremely friendly staff, great service, and we enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. You can actually have a conversation using your inside voice. Everything we have ordered has been excellent. We'll definitely be back...so many more menu items we want to try! Oh, and Mrs. Bush's cookies are to die for!
We all enjoyed lunch at Cafe 43. There was a nice selection of entrees
, salads, appetizers & sandwiches. The BLT & Mrs. Bushs favorie sandwich were hits. The chicken salad was delicious & the greens that accompanied the salad were dressed with a delicious mustard vinegarette that was very tasty
We have dined there several times before going to the George W. Bush Presidential Museum. Café 43 is very convenient combined with a visit to the museum. Or, you can dine there (and go into the museum gift shop) without having a ticket to the museum.
We have dined there about 6 times, and everything is always delicious and very pretty on the plates. The servers are extremely courteous and helpful.
Special touches by Laura Bush are evident in the table service, décor, and attention to detail.
I highly recommend Café 43.
This is a really great place. I am so glad we tried it. Wonderful food. The banana nut bread french toast was one of the best french toasts I have ever had. It came with bacon and peach sauce and berries. We also tried the cowboy cookies and they were delicious. Coffee was very good as well. Servers are very attentive.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Dallas! The atmosphere is 'classy casual' and comfortable. We love the variety of healthy options, and the wines and coffee are excellent. We recommend the beet salad, the chicken schnitzel and the vegetable lasagne, although everything we've ever had has been excellent. The waiters are kind, funny, and go above and beyond to please. If we lived in or near Dallas we'd eat there once a week!
A slight slip in service and food preparation since my last two visits. The orange segments in the chicken salad had large seeds which were not removed. Service was slow to refill water and tea glasses. Also, one of the servers was wearing strong cologne - a huge turnoff while eating food. Butt he overall experience is lovely, as is the view.
We enjoyed a delicious late lunch of creative Texas cuisine. The soups were excellent as was our meal. The staff was courteous and the atmosphere was quiet. This exceeded our expectations! We have already recommended this to our friends and look forward to another dining experience when we return again to the museum. It was instrumental in us becoming members.
Everyone was very nice and the food was delicious, but the waiter was difficult to understand and we got chicken salad instead of the green salad with strawberries and chicken. Perhaps I wasn't clear; I didn't refuse it because the chicken salad was in a cute squattie mason jar and it worked out fine. My college-aged son was a bit disappointed. Desserts were yummy!
We had a great day at the exhibits and loved the coffee in the courtyard.
Cafe 43 did not receive the modification from open door of my reservation from 2 to 3. The reception from the host and hostess was not warm or welcoming. It is exciting to invite guests to experience Cafe' 43 and one should expect the host to welcome guests. The restaurant was not busy when we arrived nor when we left.. The hosts did not acknowledge us as we left. While the table staff was attentive the waiter did not give us his name or ask if it was our first time visiting.
My adult daughter is a budding painter, and was very interested in the Wounded Warriors Exhibit. My Sister was visiting from Colorado & both are major George W Bush supporters. My husband & I had never made it to the Presidential Library, so the four of us enjoyed a very relaxing, informative, nostalgic & stirring day. Everything is displayed and presented with impeccable, well thought out detail. We took a break at mid day and visited Cafe 43 for a very delicious lunch (with reservation-highly recommended.) Since we are retired, we visited during a week day, so we didn't see any children, but there are many child oriented, interactive experiences available. All four of us are pleased to give our experience the highest ratings.
The waiter was nicely attentive but patient with us. We had a nice conversation over delicious fresh salads. We had chosen the cafe because we had plans to see Geo W Bush's Portraits of Courage exhibit which we did see after lunch. It was an impressive and moving exhibit.
The atmosphere is bright and elegant. We were very pleased with the wonderful wait staff and we were asked if there was anything else we needed - at the appropriate times during lunch. The bread and cracker basket was delicious. When I mentioned that the pimento cheese was too spicy for me (but I have a ridiculously low tolerance for spicy food) - the item was taken off the bill. The shrimp enchiladas were very flavorful, as was the black bean/corn side. I am sorry that we were too full for dessert. Next time I will start with dessert first!
Cafe 43 provides a very relaxed, yet modern dining experience perfect for business or casual gatherings. The food is consistently rated "excellent" by my guests and colleagues, and the service is at the highest level. Always a much appreciated experience that enhances your business meeting.
