Great time celebrating an early Mother’s Day after attending the new exhibition at aThe Bush Center Out of Many, One.
Mother’s Day lunch
Wonderful food and service while enjoying the quiet outdoor terrace overlooking the gardens and SMU campus in distance.
The food and service were very good. We were able to sit outside since it was a beautiful spring day. It was an enjoyable and leisurely lunch that we both enjoyed.
Cafe 43 is always a treat! So glad they have re-opened! Barbeque pork sandwich, smoked chicken salad & of course, Mrs. Bush's sandwich are all favorites. Mrs. Bush's dessert (ice cream, pecans and a crumble) outstanding. Waitstaff is always attentive, and many of the pre-COVID staff has returned.
There’s nothing special about the cafe itself. It’s all in the menus. There’s nothing to dislike and everything to love that can be chosen from the menus. The Southern Benedict is the hallmark of exquisite taste. Servers are haughty but very fast, efficient and attentive. While there, you should take advantage of a wonderful presidential library regardless of your political persuasion. I strongly recommend a walk after eating through the presidential gardens designed to like wild nature of the Texas Hill Country. The only drawback is parking. The cafe will not validate so you have pay. Not really bad, but the machine is confusing and people often have to wait until an attendant strolls out to help.
From reservation, to planning b’day celebration, to service and food it was an a exceptional experience. Would highly recommend!
So glad Cafe 43 is finally open again. Very clean restaurant and restroom. Large glass windows allow you to see the SMU campus. Staff is as good as always and the food is too. I had the Shrimp entree and the banana pecan ice cream for dessert. Brought have of the entree home. Entree was $17 and the ice cream was $6. Check out their menu. Price’s are affordable.
I’m so glad this place is open again. Nice place for lunch, food is unfussy & delicious.
So good to be back at the cafe and on the premises of the Bush Center. Thank you for accommodating the Friday afternoon docents. Thank you Brian. We will be back. Service was impeccable.
Great service and tast food. Always enjoy lunch at Cafe 43!
So glad Cafe 43 is open again. It has been one of my favorite places to dine in Dallas.
Great overall experience
Attractive dining area with many widows to the outside grounds, tasty food that was a notch above the ordinary in thought and execution. Attentive service. Cool that it is part of the Best ah Presidential Library!
We really enjoyed our gals luncheon. The atmosphere at Cafe 43 and food were exceptional.
Amazing dining experience and the food was phenomenal. Bernard (our server) was fantastic!
The salmon and wild rice is probably one of the best dishes I’ve ever had! Don’t leave without grabbing a bag of Mrs. Laura Bush’s famous cowboy cookies... delish!
Service and food was great as expected. One of our regular choices.
Excellent food and wonderful service.. our server was fast, efficient and attentive. Highly recommend. Home cooking at it’s best.
Attentive waiter and delicious food. We shared a yummy hummus appetizer and each had a bowl of the lentil tortilla soup. Great flavor and generous portion size. This is a great spot for an elegant lunch!
The ambiance and food were wonderful as always. I love the seasonal menus and the view of the grounds.
Very nice setting for lunch while visiting the museum. The food was excellent. The staff was friendly and prompt.
Friendly and prompt service, good selection on the menu, enjoyed the Tortilla/Lentil soup.
We were visiting Dallas for a wedding and decided to take in the Bush Library. We received a confirmation email from the Library which also suggested Cafe 43, so we decided to give it a try. We three had the smoked chicken salad, the avocado toast, and the steak and eggs for lunch. All three entrees were tasty and the service was excellent. We can highly recommend this restaurant and will return on our next visit to Dallas.
We had out of town guests visiting from Maryland. They loved touring the library and Cafe 43 was perfect for lunch. They nicely accommodated our large group of 9. Food was fresh and delicious with generous portions.
Best kept secret in Dallas...Great for a business lunch or brunch with the family!
I've never been disappointed by the food or service at Café 43, and I say this as no particular supporter of the president of whose library and museum it is a part. They seem never to miss a beat in terms of quality, attention to detail, etc. Highly recommended.
Cafe 43 is a perfect restaurant for an after church dinner or a great place to celebrate an event or just having a great meal. The menu is extensive and quite reasonably priced. The pan fried chicken is unbelievable. Servers are quick and personable without being intrusive. A real gem.
Very pleasant atmosphere, service was excellent and all out dishes were delicious.
Thank you. Lovely experience and great food and service.
Not only a nice treat before or after visiting the library, it's also a destination restaurant. Terrific cuisine and service. Too bad they are only open for lunch.
A perfect place for an elegant meal near SMU and the Park Cities. The lentil tortilla soup was delicious, as was the maple bacon sandwich.
I love this spot as it is quite and the service and food are delicious. Overall a great spot if you want to have a good meal and conversation at the same place.
Always the best experience in the city. Perfect for family brunch and special occasions.
Out of town friends
Great place, great food, great service. Although this restaurant is associated with the George W. Bush Library and Museum, it could well be a stand-alone restaurant and do very well
What a treasure and the food was excellent and good value. Will return many times
Very nice restaurant with good food and service.
I had the shrimp and crab with spaghetti squash, served with a lemony butter sauce that was amazing. My friends ordered two different salads that looked amazing. You won't be disappointed.
Excellent brunch spot at SMU/ George Bush Museum.
