The steak fritas special was absolutely delicious! Not many people were at the restaurant, however we were there for dinner on a Thursday night. Ambiance was modern and peaceful. Server was nice and the food came out relatively quick. Overall great experience!
Super experience. Staff and manager very personable . Great food, great service
A great atmosphere, staff, and food. I wish I lived closer so I could come back more often!
The service was very good but I think they could have used a couple more wait staff. The food was very good but my husbands could have been hotter.
We really enjoyed the decor and mood at Cafe 1500 and the menu for Restaurant week was awesome. Perfect portions for a very reasonable price.
Café 1500's five course tasting menu for Restaurant Week was fabulous! The Korean chicken was excellent, as were the short ribs. My French martini was perfect. Staff was top notch. The restaurant is modern, chic and welcoming. Overall superb dining experience!
My husband and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary with brunch. Our service and food were exceptional.
New restaurant for us and really loved it. Food was wonderful and loved the setting! Will come back again.
We got there and sat for about 5 minutes before anyone came with water. Our waitress spent more time talking to coworkers than attending to us. We asked for a water refill and she didn’t come back until after we had finished eating. The food came out cold because the waitress was more concerned with socializing. The only good thing was the fresh squeezed orange juice... which was $4 and the coffee. The only good thing was the decoration. Will not be going back not worth the price of food for the quality.
This was my 3rd time at Cafe 1500. The first time I ordered from their regular menu and the food was quite good. Then I went to a beer tasting and the food was okay. This time was the Restaurant Week menu and once again, the food was okay. Their chef(s) seem to have some imaginative ideas which they can't quite execute. Service was definitely on the down side but that might have been due to a larger than expected crowd for Restaurant Week. The restaurant was quite cold as it has been every time I've been there and the noise level is extreme. I won't rule out returning but if I do it will be to order from the regular menu.
The restaurant has a large, fairly open dining room decorated in a modern urban style with quirky, colorful artwork from the same artist. Our server, Trisha (sp?) was friendly and attentive. We came here for restaurant week and essentially had a 5-course tapas offering. I had the (1) Korean fried chicken (2) orange and avocado salad (3) tuna nicoise poke (4) 5-hr short ribs and (5) peach cobbler along with a burning man cocktail and all were fantastic and perfectly portioned. We didn't have to wait long for our food, but we were also the first set of diners in the place just after 5PM. We'll be coming back!
I love Cafe 1500 but my experience Sunday wasn’t the best. My friend an I ordered the bottomless mimosas and when telling the waitress this she only offered us the pomegranate mimosa saying it has more alcohol and it’s really good so we should get it. We agreed to getting that assuming it was the $15 price that was on the menu. After we were low on that we then asked for a regular mimosa pitcher because I didn’t particularly like the pomegranate. When it was time to pay we were charged $25 for the pomegranate (which we thought was the same price as the other mimosas and $15 and the waitress did not disclose when only offering us that flavor that it cost more) then we have to pay $15 on top of that for the regular mimosa pitcher we asked for. (Also not knowing we would have to pay extra for a new flavor) If we would have known the pomegranate was more we wouldn’t have gotten that. And if we would have known that we would of had to pay for a whole new pitcher then we wouldn’t have done that either. Sort of takes away from the whole “bottomless” idea. I can honestly say I wasn’t impressed this visit at all.
Food was delicious and presented well! Service was friendly and efficient! Decor is industrial and Art Deco! Wonderful experience!
The atmosphere is cool and relaxed, the menu is good and the food is tasty
Cliff was an amazing server and because of him we will be back again.
I need to get their whipped cream recipe! It was delectable and I can’t stop thinking about it.
Our service was fabulous and the atmosphere was relaxing. We will be returning to try the different menu items
I went to celebrate my friend's birthday, and it was the perfect place to do it! We went for Sunday brunch. Nice variety of dishes!
Liked the flowers on the tables, and that there was a "special" Food and service were very good - as usual.
We were there for brunch on Sunday. We placed our order and shortly after that, our waiter came to say they were out of one of the main parts of the dish my husband ordered. Shortly after that, our waiter came to share with the other couple we were with that the fryer was "broken" and they had to pick a different side. When our meal came, one of the main parts of my dish was substituted with a side I do not care for. The waiter was great! But I would not recommend going for brunch later in the day. Our reservations were for 1:00 and they close at 2:00. We will go back but will make our reservation for 10:00 or 11:00 and hope they have not run out of the food we ordered.
After waiting 30 minutes beyond our reservation time, we were seated at a table and waited 10 minutes before our waitress arrived. Unfortunately, the fryer was not working limiting all food options which would have been nice to know as I would have taken my services elsewhere from the start. She gathered our drink orders and after 20 minutes still no drinks. She apologized saying they were so busy and she was internalizing things and therefore straight up forgot our drink order. Although the fryer was not working, she said they would be able to accommodate hash browns by placing them on the grill. It wasn’t until after the food came out that she said they weren’t able to do that, which again, we would have ordered a different option instead. At the end, she asked if we would like to speak with the manager because a lot of other tables requested that today. I have been here multiple times and never had this kind of horrible service. I will not plan on going back ever again.
Our server was absolutely amazing. She made the best out of a poor situation. We could see from our table that she was making our drinks and making drinks for the bartenders as well. If it wasn’t for her, we most likely would have just left and went elsewhere. Half of our dishes were under cooked and inedible. One of our family members proceeded to get sick not long after getting from this establishment.
I have enjoyed Cafe 1500 in the past. It's a treat to go there for us. I was sad they had already run out of Airline Chicken - it was only 5:30 when we arrived. I didn't see much else from the main menu that was appealing and had a sandwich (Chicken and brie yum!)
Service was friendly, it was a bit slower than expected and we did wait a bit long between drinks....appetizers....main meal...refills...desert. Was close to 2 hours from in to out the door. I like not being rushed but, this was a bit long. Dessert was good, rice pudding and well, we also ordered french toast bites but was brought a chocolate cake. By the time anyone checked on us, the rice pudding was gone and the case was 1/2 gone. The cake was an olive oil cake but it was too dense and too salty. Not that we are ones to turn down a dessert, we would have preferred the toast bites.
Slowness and wrong dessert aside, it's a lovely place. I wish they had a few other main courses, with it down a chicken course, there was not much else that I found appealing.
We met for brunch for my step daughters birthday. The mimosas were amazing. The food was delicious. The service was stellar. The atmosphere was nice. Can't wait to return.
Food was good but wasn’t very hot and the proteins were over cooked. Odd considering there were only a few tables. Had those issues been resolved, would been a fantastic dinner. Will try again, hoping for better second time. The decor was modern and very nice
Food was fantastic. I just wish the portion size was a little bigger. Our server, sorry forgot her name, was great.
Everything is fantastic, the food, cocktails, service...except how loud it is with that industrial ceiling feel. So many places are like that these days. No one can hear, it's hard to have conversations. I wish you'd drop the ceiling somehow with some type of baffling.
I had been before, the food was delicious! I’m a big fan of the brunch options.
We had a delightful evening. I would take friends there again. The quality of the food and the music were a highlight.
The noise level was high enough that it was difficult to carry on a conversation.
Everything I have had here has been great, from the food to the drinks.
We went to Cafe 1500 for Father’s Day brunch. While we had eaten there before, it was our first time for brunch. The food was amazing! One of the best brunches we’ve ever had! Crab cake & smoked salmon eggs benedict were delicious as was the donut French toast! Our server, Clifton, was great! Very personable, attentive & accommodating!
Fathers Day brunch was excellent. Steak and egg hash got rave reviews, as well as the grilled tomato benny, chicken cornbread pancakes and pork belly taco. We ordered a side potato cake which had the perfect texture, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, but it was bland. Needed some salt, pepper, parsley etc. Overall, it was a fine dining experience and we expect more creative dishes from this chef, maybe a potato pancake paired with pork belly? We will be back very soon to try more dishes!
Cafe 1500 is one of my favorites. I took my out of town friends there on Saturday, a bit anxious, as they are not easily impressed. They loved everything about it- the atmosphere, the professional wait staff, and everything about the food. Especially noted were the crab cakes by my friend from Boston who described them as far superior to anything she has had an MA. The vegetables were fresh and exceptional.
Always good, always pleasant, a unique dining experience.
Good but slooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow
Best bloody Mary’s around. Food is always delicious. Cute atmosphere!
We enjoyed another brunch at this restaurant - good food and great service. We were a bit disappointed that there were no Mother's Day recognitions - food/drink specials or social decorations (table flower, etc.).
Menu too small and no parking in bad area.
The restaurant was practically empty on a Saturday night @ 6pm. Menu was fun (a little small). Steak came out raw (ordered medium-well). Chicken Brie sandwich was nice. The dessert menu was odd. It was if they don't want people to order dessert (3 obscure items that nobody likes? And, BTW, who eats all the bread pudding that keeps showing up on dessert menus locally??) Folks were very nice...just seems like the restaurant as a whole is hurting. Probably holding out for the giant court building to be built across the street...I'm told they do a nice brunch (haven't tried).
