We loved everything , had a great experience overall. Our server Max was very accommodating. highlights were the scallops, sliders, and salmon.
Paella was tremendous! Will be back very soon for that alone
Online menu was different from that in the restaurant. Server was great!
Great food. Seasoned properly. Good service.
We shared the small plates. They were good, but nothing special. The calamari was a little fishy tasting. The deviled eggs were on the bland side. The salad was adewuaye. The scallops were good, and we can't remember the last plate. That says something.
Beet salad was great. Shrimp ravioli was favorable. Boar bolognese was sour. Great service.
So disappointing. We were not even brought water for 20 minutes. The wine pour was tiny and the server barely dealt with us. Food was good not great. Wouldn’t recommend.
This was quite a surprise! It was a very nice little place right on the main street, but you never heard any of the hubbub going on outside. Very well appointed, nice people, great meet at the door and We were ushered right in. There is very little downside on this, and I'm very happy that we ended up there on the second night of a 3 day weekend.
The restaurant is so beautiful and the wait staff is super friendly. Valentine's Day was obviously packing up the restaurant, but even so the atmosphere was nice.
Overall, very good.
It was a price fixe menu for Valentine’s Day.
The service was just “okay”. Meh.
But we’d return and I talked it up with some of my colleagues.
Excellent food - excellent service - excellent ambiance. Not much else to say.
Very appealing decor and nice menu featuring tapas and Spanish themed seafood. Good food, good service.
It was excellent
Very nice ambiance. Food decent and good service.
The tapas are out of this world! Warm and flavorful. We were visiting from out of town for Thanksgiving and decided to have the thanksgiving entree. It was not outstanding. I appreciate them catering to those that wanted a traditional dinner however I recommend they stick what they do best.
The rest of the dinner was outstanding including the cocktails.
Good food - roughly 1 hour to get main dish though. I think they had lost the order, sheer bad luck on our end probably dye to a special group event in the back, because they put the dessert on the house. All in all, a nice place with good food.
Maseena, we missed you. Everything was wonderful as usual.
Original combination of Italian and Spanish, leaning mostly to Spanish. Owner is Sicilian and "sharks" the room quietly to be sure every guest is happy and every detail is attended to. Staff works like a well oiled machine and are constantly helping everyone, even if you have a different waiter. Food choices are unique and different. Wine list limited but they had some European options off the list that made us happy. Only complaint is the affinity to Pecorino cheese as it's in everything. Even the Charcuterie was 3 or 4 different types of it and then again on our salads and mains! Definitely worth a visit.
The ambiance is very nice, great lighting with a hint of Moroccan, made it for a very comfortable evening. The food was excellent, and the service was great; we enjoyed our dinner.
We were eager to give Cadiz a try as we love Spanish and Italian cuisine. My husband and I both ordered paella. Food was lukewarm, the shellfish was tepid, the rice lacked any hint of saffron seasoning and was starchy. It appeared as if the paella was pre-prepared and then reheated. If food is freshly prepared it is steaming hot. Our dishes were not. We complained to our server and he supposedly spoke to the "chef." He assured us that the chef said it was freshly prepared, but we found it very hard to believe. The server said he would give us a dessert as "compensation." We refused as we were all ready turned off. In addition, no manager was around for us to speak to to complain. We shall never return to this very poor excuse of a restaurant. Our dining experience there was dismal. Next time we are in Santa Barbara, we shall go to our favorite Italian restaurant, which I am sorry we didn't this time around - Ca Dario, which is superb. Cadiz is a major fail!
Wonderful flavors from the Tapas, pot belly a must, to Paella.
For our first ever evening in Santa Barbara we selected Cadiz because the reviews were great and it is within walking distance of the condo we're renting. We loved everything! Fresh ingredients; perfectly prepared pasta dishes; terrific setting and ambience. Professional servers are a cut above.
Thanks for a great welcome to SB. Cadiz set a very high bar.
Great food, but the arrival of both our appetizers and entres was slow. Took over 25 minutes for each to arrive. A bit surprising considering it was not that crowded. Once I brought it to the server's attention the food came out right away and we were waited on by three different servers till we left!
Great and fast service, thanks for a delicious meal!
Menu options easy to read and great deserts and happy hour. I was there for my Birthday and was recommended by the hotel I was staying at and it was worth it, had a great time and food was sooo delicious. Will be back went we come to visit Santa Barbara again.
This was a family weekend away . Everyone in our group of six raved about their food and drinks. I ordered the Seared Salmon and it was wonderful. Three others ordered the special which was a Filet, apparently the best filet they had ever had. The table service was great and even after we had finished the meal we were not rushed to leave.
Excellent meal and charming waiter
Arrived at restaurant and were shown to table, didn't see anyone for a further 15 minutes. Dinner took much longer than expected to be served to the table. I was not impressed with the service at this restaurant.
Great food and great service and a wonderful Birthday Celebration!
This was our second time to visit Cadiz. The patio offers great people watching along with the great food. Order a Santa Barbara wine to accompany your pasta or risotto and you won't be disappointed.
In addition to looking for a great dining experience, we were looking for gluten-free dining for one person at the table. Searching online via four different sites brought us to Cadiz for purported high-quality gluten-free dining. Our experience was neither high-quality or gluten-free and we were left to wonder how on earth the reviews led us to eat here! Won't be back - no matter the occasion!
The service was very good. We were seated promptly upon arrival. Had reservations and guessing by the groups that came in after us, they were also seated quickly. The food is exceptional. The paella and skin on salmon were incredible. The octopus appetiser was unique in presentation and flavour. Their olives appetiser are also recommended. Overall, a great dining experience.
Great resturant! My fiance and went to celebrate her birthday. We were staying in Santa Barbara for the Labor day weekend. I went online to check out the reviews and took a chance and made reservations. She loved it! Recommend this resturant to anyone 100%!
Best place ever!
So good we came back the next night.
Messina runs a wonderful top notch restaurant. I can't wait to get back to try more items off their creative and delicious menu.
Cool place, didn't disappoint other than the lack of much vegetation options.
The ambience and service were great. Cocktails were very good. A couple of the food items we ordered were really good, and others were just okay. Nothing special that would make us want to return.
Waiter was very "business like". Ordered caprese salad and pasta bolognese to split with my daughter. Received the bolognese first. Waiting on caprese. The waiter told us that he put the order in and told them to have the items delivered in the order listed. OK. Not something you'd want to tell your customer. Food was excellent. Kitchen/Service needs improvement.
Good food and service. Adequate serving size. Limited menu. Noise not bad at 7:00PM On an August Friday.
Lovely room, solid food, excellent bolognese. The problem was the server, who was an unpleasant combination of arrogant and incompetent. He kept forgetting...makes a diner suspicious... is "would you like a dessert menu" really so hard to recall?
