The chefs’ clean and contemporary cooking style is matched by the restaurant’s sleek aesthetic, set with industrial-era accents and design elements, and earthy color tones. The kitchen view and 8-seat chef’s counter are open, which create a level of transparency and shared experience with guests. The chefs are excited not only to cook for their guests, but to also step into the dining room to meet and serve them. Many personal touches, including art installations and ceramic servingware made by friends and wooden tables made by the chefs are also incorporated throughout.

Everything from the food to the service was first class. Could not be happier with Cadence.
Service was awesome. From the phone call to the servers. Food was great. But some dishes a little unusual.
The food is incredible, the service is flawless, the atmosphere is cozy but modern. It's the perfect place. Go.
Great food. Great service. Only complaint. Please provide a gratis basket of bread at the outset. Cmon. How much can it cost to give the table a few slices of bread.
Perfect from start to finish. Outstanding food. Caring, relaxed and excellent service. There is nothing to do to make this superb restaurant better!!
Cebrated a birthday during a month where we were both focused on healthy eating. The menu options and caliber of food and service made for an unforgettable experience.
Cadence came very highly recommended by a friend, but we were very disappointed by our entres. The first two courses were good, but we had the beef bavette as our main course and it was very disappointing. It wasn't seasoned, the vegetable mash was disappointing -- would not recommend trying this place as the price point was extremely high.
Excellent food although portions were small. The cauliflower was fabulous as was the duck special.
I had a good time dining out at this restaurant. Thank you
Had tasting menu. Grilled squid , tuna crudo and herb dumplings were quite good. The trout was nothing special and the pork was inedible. The desserts were a joke—sweeten frost on a cracker and a pumpkin mouse cake I’d gladly have traded for a Hostess cupcake. Even if the food had been somewhat better there are much better values throughout the city.
We dined at Cadence on a Thursday: the food was exceptional, and the service exemplary without being obtrusive. Highlights included the Bison tartare, the Calabrian cauliflower, and the Alina duck, all of which were stupendous. The restaurant was mostly full during our dinner and with few boisterous exceptions, the noise level was moderate. We will absolutely return, hopefully with friends.
Pricey with small portions. Limited menu. Congenial atmosphere. Staff is first rate. Saving grace: BYOB.
We had a reservation for New Years Eve and I could not have been more pleased. This was our first time at Cadence and will not be our last. Because of the NYE, the meal selection was limited but outstanding. Each course was well thought out and the portions were reasonable and not overwhelming. The selections included duck but it was for two persons. That was disappointing, but not to the extent that the other selections were equally great. A table two tables away did have the duck, and I suggested that this be a "family style meal" and that they share. They did not bite. :) I was surprise by the size, maybe 40 seats, but the staff were efficient and responded well to the full house and our needs. This is a BYOB. Definitely a great restaurant. We will be back.
Fantastic as always. The staff is very personable and you never feel like you are being rushed out. We have sat at both a table and the counter seating. We prefer the counter so we can watch all the action! The portion sizes are just right, and the food is always delicious and surprising. We went New Years Eve last which was a bit pricey (totally understandable), but were a bit disappointed we had to pay more for the duck special (which is what we really wanted). However, we decided on other options and were very satisfied. Can't wait to return again!
A delicious, seasonal, rotating menu with use of local ingredients. The service is friendly and informative. The food is thoughtful and well-balanced. It is a BYOB which is fantastic because there's a fine wine and spirits across the street with a bountiful selection. 10/10 would recommend. Hope to return when the menu rotates again!
Cadence is arguably the best restaurant in PHILADELPHIA - PERIOD full stop. Geared more for those with sophisticated palettes - but for those less educated in culinary ways - just order ANYTHING or everything on the menu and you'll be thrilled!
Delicious BYOB with great service
We were split on this review. I found Cadence outstanding, wife thought the good was uniformly too spiced. I call that flavorful, although I admit the duck breast was over salted. In any case it’s very good, we will certainly go back. Service was exceptional!
Attentive service, delicious food, good value for highly rated dining.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had! Could not recommend this place more. Service was exceptional and the vibe was great.
I might re-name this restaurant "Flavors and Textures" - Everything was tasty, explained and presented very nicely. The trout, looked and tasted like salmon - maybe it was 'Alaskan Trout'.
My wife commented that charging for bread seemed rather 'cheap' - I think that I agree. I think it was $3 for two slices and $5 for four slices (a little silly)........good but hardly worth it considering that Modo Mia, the predecessor restaurant offered really great Tuscan bread for free (as does every other fine dining Philadelphia restaurant ).
All said though, it is worth a re-visit.
Everything was incredible, one of the best restaurants in Philly!
We were a party of four and all ordered the tasting menu, so we tried almost every dish on the menu. Food was inventive, wonderful. Best meal we’ve had in a long time, and we eat out frequently. Highly recommend and will definitely return.
First two tasting were very good disappointed with entree, steak was tough. Pork was good. Surprise that bread was an extra charge 🤔 dessert was outstanding
Cadence was a perfect choice for my birthday! My wife found it as a relatively new restaurant, and we always enjoy trying new places. I particularly enjoyed their farm-to-table ethos. Ingredients were clearly carefully chosen for each dish, and the combination of flavors were delightfully complex. The menu was organized into first, second, and third course selections fit for a 4-course tasting (including dessert) or can be selected à la carte. The atmosphere was nice and the space was cozy, with an earthy farm style of decor. We loved it and would love to come back someday!
Excellent food and service. A mix of innovative and classic cuisine. Highly recommend it.
This was our second time at Cadence in the last month. Great service, delicious food and cool atmosphere. The menu is small, but has something for every one. All dishes are well prepared and inventive.
this was our second visit. both times we sat at the counter and did the tasting menu. The tasting menu was quite filling however we did also order bread. It annoys me to pay extra for bread but it was very good. all the dishes were very good. the Tuna cerviche was exceptional . The dessert was just ok. The service was fairly good but it was a bit difficult to hear our server and there was a slight hiccup on service but she apologized.
Delicious special restaurant, byob is nice, it was a little coldas we sat close to the door
I was supposed to bring my mom to dinner, but she was unable to make it due to medical issues. I called to inform the restaurant that it would be a party of one and I explained why. When I arrived, the manager (I believe his name is Andy) recalled my situation and kindly seated me at the counter and chatted with me throughout my dinner. Oh, and the meal was SPECTACULAR!!! I had the tasting menu, and it was first rate. Additionally, the service was outstanding! I had a primary server but everyone who passed by and suspected I needed water, or my wone poured or new flatware took care of me as if I was their patron exclusively. I am a US Olympian and have dined around the world. This meal was on par with any I have enjoyed thus far. Bravo, Cadence! I look forward to bringing my husband back sometime soon.
Modern American and creative cuisine, well executed. My wife and I both had the $65 tasting menu option, ordered different dishes and shared, so we were able to sample 2/3rd's of the menu. And with the BYOB policy, we splurged on a great bottle of wine, yet still had an offordable meal. Highly recommend, come hungry, you'll be full and satisfied at the end of the night.
Outstanding in every aspect. Food, service, atmosphere. I love coming here with my family or a date- it’s not loud, it’s warm and inviting, and it’s just simply delicious.
Our meals were unique and amazing. Service was excellent.
The food was absolutely delicious. We had the tasting menu and each item was amazing. The restaurant combines several ingredients to create a tasty dish. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and I highly recommend the bar option seating.
My party of 4 had the tasting menu, so we basically tried everything on the menu. There were no holes in the menu. We also had the duck which was tremendous. BYOB's have some of the best food and Cadence ranks in my top 2 restaurants in Philly. Found easy street parking too!
We were very disappointed as this was rate a top 25 restaurant. My meal was very good, but my three companions rated their meals just mediocre. The Snapper coller was all bone. A special that was not special and very little to eat. First courses and deserts were hit and miss. Service excellent, but l would not go back.
A criticism of Open Table we asked for 7:00, but were told only 6:30 was available yet there was at least 2 tables for 4 available at 7 and later
Food was good but too salty
Well it was good I have definitely been to places just as good or better. Top 50, not really. Desserts were just so so. I don’t feel the need to go back, but it was good and creative.
Each dish showed the great care and creativity of the preparers. The waitstaff was friendly and knowledgeable. One of our best dinners ever!
