   I have been to Cadence on a few occasions and have always loved the food, drinks and atmosphere. The cuisine is creative and truly exceptional. Everything is made from scratch, every day. The menu changes and evolves, with some notable additions inspired by the owner's travels, such as the crab beignets, which are to die for. They have a great selection of wines and beers, but their frozee is the best I've had! They also have a selection of specialty cocktails that are unique and fun. The restaurant has a few different areas that lend to different dining needs. There is an amazing bar with screens and even plugs so you can charge your phone while you catch up with friends. There are booths in two areas more closed off from the bar for those wanting a more quiet evening. They even have two outside patios with beautiful two-sided fireplaces. I have met the owner on a few occasions and he is always extremely friendly and you can tell he does what he loves. The staff is equally as friendly and enjoy working there. The vibe is one of coming to dinner at a friend's home, where you are welcome and they are happy you stopped by.

   my husband and I went to this restaurant for the third time tonight. The first time we went, he told the owner, who solicited our opinion, that the shrimp and polenta dish, while excellent, did not offer enough polenta, the owner agreed and assured my husband that the entree would change. Tonight we saw that it had changed. There was less polenta. We also took an opportunity to tell a bartender that we thought the by the glass wine menu was lacking. He was a large man with a receding hairline and glasses and he replied, and I quote " Well we have had no complaints'" and walked away. There are a lot of options, both in DuPage County and the city which is not far away. We are frequent diners and have partaken of excellent restaurants in both locations. My advice to diners in the Western Suburbs is go to RBK across the street, Zaza's in Clarendon Hills, Amber in Westmont or one of the many excellent restaurants in Oakbrook. This place, clearly does not need my business and will not get it again. Mary
