I took my daughter and her friends for dinner to celebrate her birthday. We had a fabulous time! They took great care of us, and made it a very special evening for her.
Thank you very much for joining us!
Went on a Friday night in October and it was packed! Food was amazing and although there was way more tables than waiters, they made it work and moved fast. Easy place to do big groups during COVID.
Excellent food but this restaurant does not take COVID seriously at all. No sanitizing of tables and no social distancing in place.
Dear PMI, thanks for the review! We daily sanitize our tables, chairs and menu. We apologize if your experience was unpleasant and we'll make sure our staff follow the rules. Thanks again for the feedback! Please come back ;)
Food was very good, but it took over an hour to get the check!
Hi! Thank you so much for your feedback!
We had a wonderful meal, with tasty food, great well-priced wine list, solicitous wait staff. I hope they survive the pandemic.
Good food and prices wait time is long Bc its supper crowded
A perfect mix of terrible service, flavorless food, overcrowding in the age of covid, and delayed seating. Enjoy!!
What a fun and lively spot! Every single (socially distant outdoor) table was FULL! The food was delicious. The pasta was fresh and tasted like I was back in Italy. Best aperol spritz in the city! I will be going back!
Dining outdoors can really change the experience. The restaurant was super busy on a friday night and hence, the service, food quality, etc isn't the same as it normally would. The servers did their best to manage. I'm happy that they were busy as the restaurant industry has suffered enough.
The cacio pepe that i had however was subpar. Given, the name of the restaurant is cacio vino, one would assumed, cacio pepe would be one of their best dishes. Anyway, the ambiance was fun/energetic and maybe the food other than the cacio pepe was good.
Amazing Italian restaurant! Cozy food and very good price. Loved it!
Great, reasonably priced food. I ordered the Rigatoni alla Norma and the Chardonnay and was very happy with my meal. Outdoor dining setup is very nice
They just have tables everywhere with no separation from other pedestrians walking down or up the block. I had put in a few requests on my OT reservation, but our Host/Server never checked that and had originally told us to wait an hour for a table out the way of the side walk since we didn’t want to sit right in the middle of pedestrian traffic. We had our entire order take all at once and everything was brought in with good timing, but we were never checked on again even though I had needed a few extra things. It was a busy Saturday night, totally, understand. But they weren’t the most professional and the food was pretty bland. Understood with everything going on they may be a little off their normal service, but it was a lot more off than expected. No barriers, no service other than seating, ordering and payment, and the food was just okay. Our appetizer was more seasoned than our pastas.
The host/server physically placed a table a little more in the crowd (away from people shopping, dogs being walked on the street and just regular pedestrian traffic) for us which I’m absolutely grateful for, but it also just seemed like he wanted to get us out of his way. A small group of 3 approached him right after he sat us about their reservation and he actually pulled out an iPad and placed them in a nicer spot (which is fine because they may have had other descriptions in their reservation) but to be honest I don’t think our host/server knew I made a reservation. So no I don’t think it mattered that I made a reservation. Yes we can say it’s a busy Saturday night but it’s what happens, especially when an establishment reopens and sets out too many tables than they can handle.
Very solid food in an outdoor setting. Restaurant was a bit understaffed but service and food were very good.
One of our favorite local spots. We’ve been there twice in two days this week! They are doing a great job during COVID-19. The service and food are great, with an impressive variety. Love it.
Great food and service! Note they only provide beer and wine, no hard alcohol.
Great outdoor dining for COVID-19. Service was great! Food was average, maybe a little high for what it cost.
Great experience with Mateo and Fabrizio! Can’t wait to go back!
Good food!! probably the best gnocchi I’ve ever had, to be honest.
Food is good. Not the best and to be fair the place was just reporting due to COVID-19. The outside seating was very nice. The service was not and they put the tables too close together. And don’t have paper menus that at this time is a must.
Abominably noisy and busy on a Sat night. Our table was between servers’ station and door, and at one point, for several minutes, we found ourselves walled in by people waiting for tables. And we had constant traffic by our table the whole time. (We had reserved, by the way, but clearly got the worst table.) Food was ok but the lack of crowd control made the experience really unpleasant.
Waiters were so rude! Made us move a couple of times and were rushing out of us there
They are WONDERFUL. Go. Order the Cacio E Pepe. It’s incredible.
Cacio e Pepe was so good!!!
The food was magnificent. The homemade pasta so fresh and the steak cooked to perfection. My kids loved the pizza and they comped us dessert cause it was my son's birthday. Came over and sang. Service extraordinary
Good food, swift service, lovely and cozy setting. But, the noise level on a busy Saturday night was off the charts! I couldn’t hear my partner speak from across the table. I could have screamed ‘fire’ and no one would have heard it over the shrill, shouting patrons. Not relaxing, not enjoyable.
Food and service were great!
I have dined at Cacio e Vino many times over the years. The food has always been consistently good and the service friendly but efficient. I have also enjoyed the convivial atmosphere and warm country decor. The wine list is good and basically reasonable.
Delicious cacio e Pepe and ambiance. Staff is super nice and always running around
I come here at least twice a month, one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Everything on the menu is amazing
Delicious, well-priced food in a great neighborhood. The place was packed on a Saturday night but never fear, they take reservations! The waiter was great. We were given the time to enjoy our meal. The grilled Octopus, pizzas, and salads were wonderful. The wine list was excellent. The wait staff was incredibly accommodating when we made small variations on menu items. All in all, a great find.
The food was outstanding - deceptively simple looking food with touches of sophistication and complexity (especially in the pasta sauces). Service was great - very attentive staff, even when they were busy with other tables. A great dining experience - will return.
Amazing food, great waiter. So busy and so loud, but overall very good and a great value.
Great go to spot for really good classic Italian!
Cacio e Vino is one of our favorite restaurants. We go there all the time, because we always get a warm greeting, great service and wonderful food and wine. NYE was extra-special because they had a special menu at a reasonable prix fixe, AND had the entire regular menu as well. The portions were HUGE. The food is always delicious and creative, like the gorgonzola beet risotto, which could have had more gorgonzola and a little less beet, but that is a very small point. We go back all the time because it's worth going back all the time.
First visit but definitely not the last. The food was delicious and the presentation was wonderful. The volcano dish was outstanding and the Cacio e Pepe was delivered in a cheese wheel-very fun. A great value for dinner in NY.
Really love the food (and the modest prices) as this Lower East Side gem. BUT on a very rainy Monday night, the staff would not admit us even one minute before their opening time of 5pm. That didn't feel very friendly and my colleagues thought about leaving in a huff (but it was raining!!) so we stayed.
Ottimo cibo. Personale gentile. Abbiamo apprezzato molto il fatto che l'acqua veniva offerta fresca e senza obbligo di acquisto di quella minerale. Peccato che il locale fosse molto rumoroso a causa dei tavoli vicini. Consigliato.
i love the food here, i’ve been a few times. Service is pretty basic and they ran out of a few things. Overall would go back because the food is so yummy but service could be a bit more attentive/cheerful.
Great date night place or just a place to meet up with some friends! This place reminded me of the restaurants I would eat at in Rome when I lived in Italy. Definitely recommend!
Sadly, I only discovered this place a little over a year ago. It is now my "go to" place in the east village. Amazing place with terrific Sicilian food. I took one star off for ambiance because my one and only note on this restaurant is the the seating is a bit cramped. Outside of that, this place is the best!! Great staff and service. Great wine selection, too.
