I selected this restaurant as a special family get together. We were the only people in the restaurant yet no one came to get our drink order. There was staff sitting at a table, but they didn’t come over until we called out to them. Same thing happened when we wanted to order. Maybe we were lucky because the food was not very good. I thought the specialty was cacio y Pepe. It was terrible. Service and food were awful. Except for the gentlemen that was great about refilling water.
The food was to die for. And the service was outstanding. Everyone was super nice. The view from the outside seating was beautiful. I cannot wait for my next trip to NY because I will 100% be going back to the place.
Do not go to this restaurant if you want to have any sort of conversation.
Do go to this restaurant if you want to be surrounded by multiple groups of young women getting rowdy drinking Prosecco and taking selfies.
Food and service were adequate but nothing special.
Service and food was amazing
Manager and staff are unprofessional. This was my second visit, the first time (September 2020) the manager made unwelcomed advances to me while at dinner with my cousin, this was followed by a free bottle of wine and him pulling up a chair to sit next to me and ask what were my plans for the rest of the night. This second visit was a nightmare. We were asked to leave after being there an hour. The server claimed we were there 90 minutes and he needed the table for other people. We arrived 15 minutes before the scheduled reservation (8pm), seated immediately in a horribly socially distanced restaurant with no masks. The manager remembered me and mentioned he met me before. Our cacio e pepe was al dente and had absolutely no flavor. After bringing up our completely dissatisfied dinner to the manager, he looked me directly in the eyes and said verbatim “ok bye”. The first experience was odd but this second confirms the abhorrent behavior and conduct this establishment allows and encourages. Money wasted, time wasted, and violated by management. I’m in disbelief and so disrespected by this yet again.
It was ok. Nothing to rave about. The bread they give wasn’t good at all but the food was ok.
This is a great spot with pleasant service and very, very good food. It's Italian with a Sicilian focus. The Pizzas are excellent, the pastas too. Right now they have a lot of outside tables set up but the whole front wall of the restaurant opens so it is good for indoor dining as well.
The restaurant was packed despite NYC CoVID policies. The energy was high and the place was understaffed for the fullness. We had a hard time ordering, but the food was good and tasted fresh.
The food was a bland but the atmosphere was great!
Great food but operating at 200% capacity with a full dining room and the sidewalk and street seating. Didn’t seem to be staffed for the number of diners.
Outstanding food and service, staff is great thats why we keep going back
Amazing carbonara! Exactly the way I wanted. The ambience was also very pleasing and it made for a great dinner with my friend.
Went for a weekend brunch, and it was PACKED. Like disregarding the guidelines packed. If you don’t mind that, than the bottomless drinks and the food’s for you. But just know there is no social distancing, so dine at your own risk.
It was the Sicilian St. Joseph’s Day dinner of my dreams!! Absolutely incredible meal and experience. First time dining there. Certainly will become a repeat customer.
Price point didn’t match the quality of food
Pizza dough was bland and raw and tables not 6 feet apart !!!
There were too many people in there to be in accordance with covid
They were not following proper indoor dining rules. It was at complete and full capacity. Uncomfortable.
The restaurant cancelled my reservation after they already seated us. They operated at 100% capacity when only allowed 25%. Semi grateful and semi annoyed that we were seated outside when my reservation was for inside. We had to wait for another party to leave because they boxed our table in between 2 others and there was no way out.
Awesome. Great waiters who care about what's on the menu and a lively atmosphere (this was Valentine's Day). We certainly got lit.
Food was good, it just was so cold due to outdoor dining only.
I took my daughter and her friends for dinner to celebrate her birthday. We had a fabulous time! They took great care of us, and made it a very special evening for her.
Thank you very much for joining us!
Went on a Friday night in October and it was packed! Food was amazing and although there was way more tables than waiters, they made it work and moved fast. Easy place to do big groups during COVID.
Excellent food but this restaurant does not take COVID seriously at all. No sanitizing of tables and no social distancing in place.
Dear PMI, thanks for the review! We daily sanitize our tables, chairs and menu. We apologize if your experience was unpleasant and we'll make sure our staff follow the rules. Thanks again for the feedback! Please come back ;)
Food was very good, but it took over an hour to get the check!
Hi! Thank you so much for your feedback!
We had a wonderful meal, with tasty food, great well-priced wine list, solicitous wait staff. I hope they survive the pandemic.
Good food and prices wait time is long Bc its supper crowded
A perfect mix of terrible service, flavorless food, overcrowding in the age of covid, and delayed seating. Enjoy!!
What a fun and lively spot! Every single (socially distant outdoor) table was FULL! The food was delicious. The pasta was fresh and tasted like I was back in Italy. Best aperol spritz in the city! I will be going back!
Dining outdoors can really change the experience. The restaurant was super busy on a friday night and hence, the service, food quality, etc isn't the same as it normally would. The servers did their best to manage. I'm happy that they were busy as the restaurant industry has suffered enough.
The cacio pepe that i had however was subpar. Given, the name of the restaurant is cacio vino, one would assumed, cacio pepe would be one of their best dishes. Anyway, the ambiance was fun/energetic and maybe the food other than the cacio pepe was good.
Amazing Italian restaurant! Cozy food and very good price. Loved it!
Great, reasonably priced food. I ordered the Rigatoni alla Norma and the Chardonnay and was very happy with my meal. Outdoor dining setup is very nice
They just have tables everywhere with no separation from other pedestrians walking down or up the block. I had put in a few requests on my OT reservation, but our Host/Server never checked that and had originally told us to wait an hour for a table out the way of the side walk since we didn’t want to sit right in the middle of pedestrian traffic. We had our entire order take all at once and everything was brought in with good timing, but we were never checked on again even though I had needed a few extra things. It was a busy Saturday night, totally, understand. But they weren’t the most professional and the food was pretty bland. Understood with everything going on they may be a little off their normal service, but it was a lot more off than expected. No barriers, no service other than seating, ordering and payment, and the food was just okay. Our appetizer was more seasoned than our pastas.
The host/server physically placed a table a little more in the crowd (away from people shopping, dogs being walked on the street and just regular pedestrian traffic) for us which I’m absolutely grateful for, but it also just seemed like he wanted to get us out of his way. A small group of 3 approached him right after he sat us about their reservation and he actually pulled out an iPad and placed them in a nicer spot (which is fine because they may have had other descriptions in their reservation) but to be honest I don’t think our host/server knew I made a reservation. So no I don’t think it mattered that I made a reservation. Yes we can say it’s a busy Saturday night but it’s what happens, especially when an establishment reopens and sets out too many tables than they can handle.
Very solid food in an outdoor setting. Restaurant was a bit understaffed but service and food were very good.
One of our favorite local spots. We’ve been there twice in two days this week! They are doing a great job during COVID-19. The service and food are great, with an impressive variety. Love it.
Great food and service! Note they only provide beer and wine, no hard alcohol.
Great outdoor dining for COVID-19. Service was great! Food was average, maybe a little high for what it cost.
Great experience with Mateo and Fabrizio! Can’t wait to go back!
Good food!! probably the best gnocchi I’ve ever had, to be honest.
Food is good. Not the best and to be fair the place was just reporting due to COVID-19. The outside seating was very nice. The service was not and they put the tables too close together. And don’t have paper menus that at this time is a must.
