In the early 70s a famous Italian chef, starts his trip to Greece. During a cruise he arrives in Mykonos, he gets thrilled by the Greek islands and the Greek light and opens restaurants on the cosmopolitan island and in Psyri in Athens. Santorini, however, becomes his last stop, the final destination of a journey full of experiences and challenges.

On the magnificent island of Santorini he meets Niko Topuzi, a real connoisseur of authentic Italian pizza with huge experience! Together they envision a partnership and the creation of a unique Italian restaurant.
Their dream comes true and Cacio e Pepe opens on one of the main streets of Fira. The authentic Italian cuisine and impeccable service make it a hot spot with fanatic customers, not only travelers, but also the residents of Santorini.

The resturant was comfortable and servers were attentive and entertaining. The food was not what we expected. Pasta was “homemade” and this is likely accurate but both my wife and I through the pasta was very dry. There didn’t seem to be enough butter or olive oil on the pasta. It was thick and dry making it difficult to eat. The lobster was tough - over cooked? There was no drawn butter or olive oil. The lasagna Bolognese had a dry thick pasta with a thin bland meat sauce. I added salt and pepper - but still thought the dish was difficult to eat. It simply lacked taste that I was expecting from such a highly recommended resturant. We also ordered Focaccia bread - that appeared to be slightly burnt pizza dough. This was great tasting with olive oil and additional salt. Again - not what we were expecting for focaccia bread, but the best tasting thing we were served.

Every time I come to Santorini, I make sure to come to Cacio e Pepe. You immediately are greeted like family. The food is fresh and full of flavor. They attention to detail in every dish is fantastic. The wine selection is fantastic.

Cacio e Pepe was everything we hoped for—delicious, warm, and effortlessly memorable. Every dish was perfectly prepared, the flavors were rich but balanced, and the entire experience felt thoughtful and elevated without being fussy. Our servers were absolutely on point—attentive without hovering, kind, and clearly passionate about what they do. They made us feel welcome from the second we walked in and made sure every detail was just right. If you’re visiting Santorini and looking for a place that blends comfort with flavor and truly great service, don’t miss this spot. We’ll be talking about that meal for a long time.

The food is amazing and the level of service was fantastic. Really attentive to our group of 10. Great choice of drinks and lovely setting. The restaurant is beautiful and located in central area

Amazing food and exceptional staff. Just short of high end (paper napkins and paper covers over the tablecloth with adverts on it). This does not take away from the great dinner we had.
