   If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. It’s actually shocking to me how a restaurant with so much potential can miss the mark on every level. We walked in excited by the vibes in this place because, let’s face it, Boise needs more restaurant options. As soon as we sat down, our excitement quickly faded. Our table had a horrible wobble that had us holding our drinks for dear life. I brought it up to our waitress and she did nothing. We waited 10 minutes before our waitress took our drink order. We ordered 2 drinks. 20 minutes later, our drinks came out and the waitress finally took our appetizer order and didn’t return to our table to check on us for another 10-15 minutes until she brought out our apps. We ordered our entrees and I ordered a glass of wine which never came so when the waitress brought our entrees out, I told her to drop the wine order. We sat their attempting to eat our food in disbelief but we were so hungry at that point that we just choked down what we could. My son’s pepperoni pizza was literally a pile of canned Sysco tomato sauce, cheap cheese and paper thin pepperoni sitting on top of what appeared to be undercooked flacid dough that prevented him from being able to hold a slice of pizza without folding it in half. My other son ordered the bolognese and the wide noodles where literally sitting in a swamp of pasta water with some meat thrown in. The noodles were all clumped together and mushy. Finally, we get to my osso buco and the disaster only got worse. The meat was plated around a bone with marrow in it that was a mixture of grey mush that tasted like dish soap. The meat was so over cooked and dry that whoever cooked it drenched it in a ton of canned tomato sauce. I should’ve known we were headed for a terrible experience when we first sat down and noticed the mural on the wall with distorted wannabe Italians and stencil lines showing through the paint. $140 poorer and I can still taste the soap in my mouth!

   The appetizer was great. The cornish game hen was very tasty, along with the new potatoes and colored cauliflower. The brussel sprouts were challenging to eat, as they were not cooked long enough.

   Love the wood scent as I enter the restaurant & the happy hour is great. I had the scallops & they were delicious. Only problem I would say is that it’s extremely noisy. There was a group there that was loud & made it for a difficult time to talk to each other.

   We had the Goat cheese Pear salad, meatballs with pine nuts and Octopus. They were outstanding! The flavors of each dish were so balanced and portions were perfect. We will be back many more times.

   First time visit and was rather underwhelmed. Basically a glorified pizza joint that happens to serve other dishes. I’ve been to quieter hockey games. Almost impossible to engage in conversation. Despite the noise I wanted to give the food a fair shot. We ordered the octopus appetizer to start. Presentation was pleasant and the portion very adequate but it was rather overcooked (dry and chewy). Because we felt like we were at basically a pizza parlor we both ordered individual pizzas. Again, underwhelmed. On the bright side our server was prompt and attentive. Probably won’t be going back. Noise was deafening.

   This place never fails to impress! Whether you are in for lunch or dinner, the food is fantastic, the servers are friendly, and the ambiance is welcoming! Highly recommend the gnocchi and the steak!

   there was no salt or pepper in any of the dishes. Everything was very flat. I has one dish taken off of the bill it was so bad. I hope you get some cooks who would like to taste the food before they serve it.

    Had to wait almost 30 minutes after the time of our reservation to be seated. No where to really hang out while waiting so we sat watching the patrons eating. On a Friday evening it was very busy and very loud. And unfortunately we were seated next to a table with I'm guessing an owner or someone who runs the restaurant. He was so loud and obnoxious that it was really hard for us to have a conversation. Our food was very good. I got the halibut, which came with parsnip puree, green beans and blistered tomatoes. The green beans weren't cleaned well and I had to pull out the strings. And the tomatoes were nowhere near "blistered", maybe warmed. The fish and parsnips were amazing. Hubby had the flat iron steak. He said it was good, but he didn't like that it came out sliced. But he was able to tell right away that it was perfectly cooked to med-rare. Drinks are good. Happy hour prices makes them a great deal. We didn't see any happy hour specials on food.

    Last minute Mother’s Day reservation. We waited 10 minutes or so outside because there is not a place to wait inside. There are two hostess that take you to your table with a glass and a menu but you have to wait for your server to get water. We waited about 10 minutes for that and put in drink orders. Those came pretty quick but we had to wait again to give appetizer orders. The bread and clams came out about 40 min later they were good but small. I was told after that about the entree I had ordered being sold out. So instead of the Mezaluna I decided on the Bucatini. The three other people received their entrees after about another 15 min. After arriving at 7:15 my entree came out about 9;00. I asked for a to go box and check as I was no longer interested in staying there to eat. The kids were still hungry after their small entrees and the halibut and shrimp bucatini that my daughter and I had came without halibut. I was comped a glass of wine and my entree. There was really not much apology or concern sent our way. This was my second visit to Caci. The first was not this bad but nothing to write home about the servers are not friendly or helpful. And the food is not memorable.

    For the Owner! I love (ed) CACi and expectations for Mother's Day or any Holidays are lowered just because one knows it's going to be busy and understaffed. As a gourmand and Italophile my biggest concern for the continued success of your Ristorante is the training and understanding of the waitstaff to know the proper order of items delivered to the table. Having ordered Cocktails, Foccacia, two House Salads, the Mezzaluna and Halibut it was curious and disappointing the Foccacia and Mezzaluna, and only the Mezzaluna, arrived at the table! I sent it back to be kept warm as "unacceptable". Not ten minutes later EVERYTHING arrived at once!!! Having lived in Europe I consumed the pasta first, which was not the proper temperature, and salad second so my daughter's entree was cold by the time she finished her salad. When a customer spends in excess of $100. on a two person table they expect to have an enjoyable experience. I tipped our server a full 25% as she was a bartender obviously trying to do her best to keep the establishment "above water". The Mezzaluna was rubbery and the sauce far too spicy for the average diner. The previous pasta offered on the menu last fall/winter was far more delicate and extraordinary, true to fine Italian dining. Your cuisine is very good overall. Have you tried the Foccocia from Bella Biscotteria in Eagle, it is light, flavorful (4 flavors offered) and the perfecto amount of Olive Oil. You might consider outsourcing theirs if you are going to charge diners for Pane. I will give CACI another opportunity as I always believe in "off nights" and second chances. Buona Fortuna!     Food was good, not outstanding. Also, a suggestion for management. The salads, which are priced high enough to be entree salads, were very small and left those of us who wanted a salad as our meal hungry. True in Italy, people tend to eat several courses (primi, pasta, second, etc.) but most Americans don't. I suggest you consider making your current portion a "primi" portion (and lower the price accordingly), and offer a larger entree size of the same salad for a higher price.

    The risotto I had was creative and delicious . Rocket salad on top of the risotto and sausage. My wife enjoyed the shrimp and halibut pasta that was on special. My only markdown is for the noise level caused by all the hard surface’s making it difficult to talk

    My dinner was acceptable, my wife’s was not. Both items were brought to the table at the same time but my wife’s seafood platter was ice cold. The Halibut was cooked perfectly but it was ice cold like the green beans and other items on her plate. It was obvious that her plate of food sat for a very long time before being delivered to the table. It was sent back to the kitchen for a refund and I shared my plate with her. Luckily we had an appetizer and bread so she didn’t go with no food at all. Caci needs food runners and better kitchen timing. The busy order-takers should not deliver the food.

    Horrible restaurant. We were expecting much more - especially for the prices. Sat down and there was lipstick stained on my water glass, the vegetables on my $40 plate were cold and not cooked, my husbands steak was over cooked, the bathroom had no toilet paper or hand towels, and the server was completely uninterested in our needs.     Good took almost 2 hours. Steak was dry…sever was nice but disappeared too often. Excuse was it’s busy .. but I wouldn’t have went had I known it was two hours.

    I have been here quite a few times and usually order the gnocchi. This time is was not prepared the same way. It had more of a cheesy sauce instead of a garlic cream sauce and the pancetta was burned. The mushrooms appeared to be missing. The balsamic glaze was drizzled on the upper part of the bowl instead of across the food. It would have been a better flavor if it had been on the food. Very disappointing meal.

    One of the BEST meals I've had in a long time! My husband and I enjoyed the arancini, gnocchi, mezzaluna, and seared scallops. All were so flavorful, especially the gnocchi! All served hot on beautiful dishes, and with excellent smiley service :) I highly recommend the "Caci" cocktail as well. The only thing I wish they had was a better beer selection. My husband enjoys Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, and they didn't have that or a very similar IPA available.

    I ordered a seafood pasta and my wife ordered sea bass. Both were excellent with her sea bass taking top honors! I tasted hers and I agreed best sea bass I ever had. It had just the right amount of wood smokiness in the dish. My pasta had a spicy kick, our server told me when I ordered it, so I asked to have the spice tuned down a bit. The spicy heat was perfect too. We are from out of town but would go back if visiting Boise again. The place had a great crowd vibe going too.

    I made reservations well in advance for a table for 6 at 6:00. One of our guests was unable to come so we were a party of 5. We arrived at 5:50, 10 minutes prior to our scheduled reservation time and the hostess checked us in and said our table was being prepared. After standing in the small reception area crowded with the other 6-8 people, also waiting to be seated at their tables, for 15 minutes, our table still wasn’t ready. I inquired with our hostess when our table would be ready and she explained they needed to push two tables together and it should only be a minute as everyone had checked out. Another 15 minutes passed ( we’ve now been standing for 30 minutes waiting) when we inquired again and I complained as there appeared to be no progress on pushing tables together for us, so I requested the table for 4 that was open could used that we could squeeze around and she said yes and guided us to the table had only 4 chairs. We had to ask her to get a 5th chair for us. Nobody from management or any servers acknowledged the delay and lack of service or my complaint. The hostess should have recognized the need to seat us at our reservation time and come up with a solution or set our expectations accurately if there was a delay and offered us a spot at the bar while we wait. Neither happened. This experience caused many members of our group to complain to me and each other.

    The food is amazing, the antipasta(appetizer) was interesting yet yummy. The focaccia bread was good. Our dinner was amazing. My bison osso bucco was amazing, cooked perfectly, sauce was amazing, the polenta mushroom, was amazing! And the carrots were perfect. The wagu steak my husband had was really good too.

    We are new to Boise and tried Caci. Service was excellent. Cocktails were yummy. Meatballs a little overcooked but pretty presentation. Margherita pizza was good - ask for Calabrian chili oil to drizzle on top!

    It took an hour and 45 minutes to get our pizza and no offer to comp anything. Our server was nice and the food was pretty good but the wait for 2 small pizzas was extensive. Not sure exactly what was happening. There was mention of new staff. I felt really bad for everyone working there. There were multiple waiters just standing and staring at the people cooking so it was probably a really bad day for all those people.

    This was my second time to Caci's and my husband's first. We ordered the arancini and steamed clams appetizers. Both were delicious and the clams were fresh. We also ordered 2 of the salads and a pizza. The wood fired pizza had a nice crisp base to the crust while the top was soft. There is a slight wood fire flavor but not overpowering. We liked the tangy pizza sauce, too. Salads were filling and delicious. The service was very good. Our server was very attentive and friendly. There is a nice selection of mainly Italian wines and full bar. Overall, the prices were reasonable for high quality food and drink. We'll definitely go here again.

    Came and enjoyed the benefits of happy hour. The beers and cocktails all looked good. The grilled octopus is one of my favorites and the variety of salads all looked good. Wife and I enjoyed a pizza with salads. Our server was very friendly and attentive given it being so busy. Highly recommend!

    My husband and I have been to Caci several times, it’s a great neighborhood restaurant. It has a lively atmosphere, especially at happy hour. The waiters/waitresses are alway attentive and friendly, great food and drinks.

    We eat here once a week. The drinks are always excellent. We have tried various dishes. The homemade Focaccia bread is excellent as well as the marinara sauce. The pizzas are also excellent.

    Excellent service our server was patient with us as we were having a difficult time picking wine. Our complimentary chocolate torte for my birthday was extra special too! The gnocchi was a bit greasy, maybe that could be improved. Overall we love CACi!

    Went with another couple. Two of us got pizzas, one got a gluten free pasta dish and one got the wagyu steak. The pizzas (the fig-sauce/gorgonzola/prosciutto and the wild boar meat pizza) were both delicious!! The wagyu beef was devine but wasn't very much and don't know if it was worth the $34 dollars...definitely was worth the $26 dollars before prices went up. We were expecting lower prices per what the previous pictures of the menu were saying but guess it's what it is because prices have gone up everywhere. The pasta was really not good. It didn't look appetizing and our friend only got three shrimp and was charged extra for the gluten free noodles...definitely not worth the $26 dollars it cost. Got the pork butt lettuce wraps which were great but not enough :-( Service was okay....super nice guy but forgot about three things we requested and we had to request all those things twice. It was a busy night though. If your looking for a quiet intimate place though so a tad more expensive food donl not go here....it's loud (not Red Robin loud) but it's not quiet. We did make reservations due to it being a Friday night and only had to wait for about 6 minutes for a table. We did not drink but they have an extensive bourbon/whiskey list but we decided to wait to get home and drink for cheaper haha. All in all we would go back again but probably just have pizzas and appetizers.
