Great space and a good vibe. The pork dish was really tasty and the donuts were yummy. The pisco cocktail was good too. The only thing that was a little off was our server. He was not really all that friendly and seemed almost judge-y, which was weird. I think I still favor Little Goat though...
Happy hour deals were outstanding. Service was a little slow and I was bummed they wouldn’t seat my party of two without the other person being there although the place was empty and I was just waiting on 1 other person but I get it. Food was spectacular and ambiance was too! Definitely going back for their lunch special.
We were in Chicago to celebrate birthday and Cabra did not disappoint!We loved the Peruvian fare and every detail of the experience!From the table setting to the food and service to the view!love,love,love the small plate concept and the vibe!Beautiful!
I love Girl and the Goat, and Cabra will be another fave. I loved the green plants everywhere - made me feel like I was in Cusco! The service was fantastic. Our server helped us choose drinks and our dishes based on our liking and made fantastic recommendations. Just like Girl and the Goat, the chef yet again has thought of more beautifully composed dishes! Every bite has decadence, freshness, crunchiness, and gorgeous colors.
I took my children here and the food was not family friendly. The tables are extremely small and the place a little dark. We loved most of the dishes and the service was good. I will have to come again in an adult group setting next time.
All six diners were thrilled with the various plates that came to our table...at times unusual and always delicious. Helpful server, fun ambience, all was a big thumbs-up. Can't wait to take family members there.
After our trip to Peru we fall in love with Peruvian food and we were very excited to try this place. But the experience was not good. This place should be called Small Cabra, small cocktail glasses, small napkins, small plates, small portions. They advertise the plates size are big enough to share, it's not the case. The duck chevice was nothing special, no flavors. Goat empanadas were good. Octopus on the grill was sweat and a very small plate. Lomo saltado was like a veggie sweet and sour broth with some tasteless meat inside. The pork shank was the only one very good and a decent size portion. In summary, only the names of the plates are Peruvian. All dishes come with unnecessary fat sauces. The only think to share was a big bill at the end.

We were very excited to try Cabra. As soon as we heard it was opening, we put it on our dining list. However- left quite disappointed. The ambiance is great, but service ( server was not at all interested in us- but food runners and server assistance did good) and food left a lot of room for improvement. We travel to Peru twice a year and we were expecting good peruvian food from this amazing chef. However this is not peruvian food, it may be inspired by peruvian cuisine but flavors are far from it( lomo saltado is not even close to what it actually is ). Ambiance is great and pisco sours are amazing, but if you want to try peruvian food this, unfortunately, is not it. So if you eat here keep in mind that if you eat in Peru it will taste very very different ( and better). Chicago has another great peruvian restaurant that serves better food .

Everything was “good”, but it wasn’t exceptional. We both agreed that we were glad we tried it, but that we probably wouldn’t be back unless someone else suggested it. The ceviche is awesome though and you should probably make your meal out of that!

Cabra is the perfect combination of great food, service, ambience, wine list and all with a stunning view! Sharing plates are varied, high quality and full of flavour. What more could you want?
Love the variety of meat/fish - things like beef heart, goat, chichurron that we don't get often. Innovative, great for sharing and delicious
Food was excellent but the acoustics were terrible and noise level was so loud that we could not hear each other. The noise level made the whole experience much less enjoyable. We thought that it would not be so loud at 4 pm, so we were very disappointed with the overall experience.
We eat out a lot. We had to wait about 3 weeks for the time that worked for us for a reservation to eat at Cabra, the prices were higher than average so our expectations were quite high. The ambiance was great and the restaurant was very cozy. We were seated right by the door to the patio and it was a cold night so most of our meal was interrupted by a cold draft but aside from that, we really loved the atmosphere. Our server was fine. He did his job well and it was a busy night but nothing that blew us away. All of our food had great presentation...We got a crab salad of sorts which was refreshing and very tasty. I would definitely order it again. We got another salad with all kinds of Lima/garbanzo beans with fried cheese...it was good but didn’t really hit the spot in terms of flavor... we got the whole fish which was cooked perfectly but the sauce they give you for it was just so so. It was sweet and savory but with a fish you usually want something like lime to squeeze on it or something to make it more sour or something with a little spice to give it a kick. It was cooked great but u less they give it a better sauce, would not order it again. Last, we got the sweet potato donuts for dessert based on our waiters recommendation and oh my god they were so sweet. We both had two bites and were DONE. Overall- our drinks were absolutely amazing. We would come back to enjoy the ambiance and a drink with maybe one small plate to try something new but would not eat dinner here again.

Significant other visiting town and sharing a night out with another couple there was great! We shared 6 assorted plates and loved each one.
Great food! Very cool ambience. Plates are meant to share. The snapper ceviche was excellent!
The best dish (and best value) on the menu is the Chicharrón del Puerco; it's an oustanding dish and can easily be shared. The Solterito was another item that can actually be shared with others and all the ingredients complimented the dish. The mango soft serve swirl was delicious and all the flavors worked very well with each other.
We were there to treat our friends one from another country and one from another city. They loved food and everything!
Once you find your way to the Cabra express elevator , it's smooth sailing. We went for brunch on a Sunday morning and Cabra has a eclectic vibe and a fabulous view. We had the smoked salmon dip, sea bass ceviche, shrimp, sweet potato donuts, chocolate mousse, fritters and grilled peppers. Loved it all and left nothing behind. Just the right blend of seasoning and not masking the flavors of the food.
After months of trying to get into Cabra, I was quite disappointed by the food. The environment is very cool, but food was mundane and not all that tasty. I would not recommend and probably will not go back.

I would only recommend Cabra for drinks. The food is decent - nothing special but be prepared for snack sizes. The food portions were ridiculously small for the price. We were expecting to spend a bit of money here but for what we got, we wanted to eat another dinner afterwords. To top it all off, the bathrooms were disgusting. For the amount of money we paid here to be skimped on food, I would at least expect a clean bathroom.
Food was delicious and they were accommodating about menu changes. Would’ve had a 5 but my husbands meat dish was tough. Fun and loud vibe. Great bar

We had a group of five people so we cold try lots of things at this restaurant, which specializes in sharing. The food was overall very good. The ceviches were good but quite small. The star items we had were the goat empanadas, the pork shank, and the whole fish (which was red snapper that evening). They have some interesting drinks, I can recommend the Alpaca My Bag. The service was very good, the place good very loud and energetic as it filled up, and the environment is trendy but comfortable. It was an expensive meal but we had a very good time and enjoyed the food.
It was good. Needed bread or chips with ceviche. Server was slow.
