Located on the rooftop, Cabra Cevicheria is a Peruvian-inspired restaurant by Chef Stephanie Izard. Open for dinner daily, the lively dining experience is anchored on shareable plates bold in flavor and bright in taste. While limited reservations are available, we encourage walk-ins and will be mostly seating the dining room on a first come, first serve basis!

The classic ceviche with sweet potato slices was fantastic and the cocktails were pretty good! I also got the papas as a side. Now I didn’t have any of their entrees because I just didn’t work up such an appetite but I’ll most certainly be back here. I topped it off with their home made donuts in a peanut/caramel tasting type sauce that was just awesome, the cherry to top off the whole experience.

It took almost 10 minutes for our waiter to come over. Food was extremely salty and overall disappointing-except for the fabulous empanadas. It was also insanely loud in there. Not good, fun atmosphere loud, but can't have any sort of a conversation loud. The DJ is unnecessary for 7pm on a Saturday. I'm a huge fan of all 3 of chef's other Chicago restaurants, but not Cabra.

It was an amazing experience and we can’t wait to comeback. Food, staff, atmosphere all fantastic! Nice job Stephanie and team, we’re big fans of all your Chicago restaurants and this one did not disappoint!

Everything was excellent. However, please note, we sat in the seating section inside at the far west side of the restaurant adjacent to the patio (inside though) and it was like a windstorm every time someone opened the patio door. Flying menus and napkins, spilt beverages, and most of my time during dinner was spent getting up and down to close the door and clean up the table. For a more enjoyable dinner, avoid sitting in that area. Otherwise it really is a great place.

Our visit visit to Cabra did not disappoint. Celebrated Top Chef victor and Chicago restauranteur Stephanie Izard has delivered yet another winning format in the West Loop. Situated atop the Buxton Hotel, Cabra Cevicheria provides The Windy City with Chef Izard’s take on Peruvian cuisine. The dishes are offered in a tapas style with most being dished for table sharing. From beginning to end, we were tantalized with bold and fresh flavors. The cold crab Causa started us on the epicurean journey with solid umami. The salmon ceviche was unctuous and acidic. The smoked goat empanadas delivered a rustic and flavorful experience. We were completely knocked over by the sticky rice Arroz con Plato with a perfectly prepared duck leg. Knowledgeable about the menu and helped us craft a fantastic course experience. Even 3 days into opening, Cabra receives no questionable marks from me. Looking forward to returning next week so that I can experience more of the cuisine.

Had an absolutely great time at Cabra. The only hiccup was that we ordered the pork shank (after reading all the rave reviews) and we sat and waited for it to come out to only find out later that they had ran out. Would've been nice had we been told sooner that it was unavailable. But the restaurant is still in the early phases, so I'm sure that will be addressed. The waitress was VERY kind, she apologized, and then the restaurant comped our dessert. Can't be mad about free dessert

Our night was fabulous from the atmosphere to the food. Blown away by every bite! The only "eh" moment was waiting for drinks prior to dinner. That was slightly more convoluted to figure out but only open for a week so I'm sure they'll figure it out!

Amazing experience! Cool venue, tasty food, hip vibe. Chef was there herself and genuinely wanted to make sure we were enjoying our food. Made for a memorable night! Try the fatty pork shank and goat empanadas!!

I will definitely be going back. The food was exquisite! We loved all the dishes we tried - ceviche, anticuchos, goat empanada, salchipapas, avocado dip and the pork (main dish). It's Peruvian food with a modern twist. My fave was the avocado dip. I can't wait to try it again.

We had a blast. The food was amazing, staff was great and the live DJ for opening weekend was awesome. It was very loud, but we still had a blast. The food was beyond delicious combining great flavors and textures for an unforgettable experience.

While the food was excellent. This needs to be made clear. This is a swanky bar that happens to serve food. I was a little disappointed, but I would probably come back.

Delicious! We loved everything we got. Highlights were the chutoro special, queso fresco dip, skirt steak, and pork shank!! Fun atmosphere!

Great food, great view, great drinks, and a fun time. Only thing I and my group hated was the music was load. It was hard to hear our server at times. I'll be back to try more dishes!

The venue, service, food, and cocktails were all fantastic! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The staff was very friendly and service was prompt. I will come back here many times!
