Perched atop the Hoxton Hotel in the heart of Chicago’s Fulton Market, Cabra Chicago is a lively rooftop escape, inspired by the bold and vibrant flavors of Peruvian cuisine.

Led by James Beard Award and Top Chef winner Stephanie Izard (Girl & the Goat) alongside longtime partners Rob Katz and Kevin Boehm of Boka Restaurant Group, Cabra serves up crave-worthy dishes in a colorful and energetic setting.

Food: solid Peruvian cuisine with our standout being the goat empanada. A beautifully flaky crust with a savory filling. Our other standout were the drinks - we ordered the pisco sour and the tropical bandido. Both were excellent. The salmon ceviche was worth mentioning but a bit over salted. That said, for the price per small plate it was good but not great. What stuck out to me more was that the Staff seemed visibly stressed. Of course, in a busy restaurant environment it’s not at all unexpected. Here it was palpable. Regarding the environment, it was loud and energetic. Compared to the Hoxton below, not quite as upscale. We are glad we tried it but will continue our way through the Chicago food scene.

Loudest restaurant I can remember. Definitely not what I want on a Sunday brunch. Leave that volume to night clubs. Pity - since food was overall good.

Amazing place for drinks and shareable plates - absolutely loved their dips and chicken thigh skewer. Great music, vibes, views too

During previous visits, we've chosen indoor seating as weather wasn't great. This time we had pool seating so the vibe was pretty dynamic. Cabra (and the Hoxton Hotel) are places to be seen which is not normally our vibe but the food is just so great that we will continue to come back.

Outstanding. Our server, Nikki, could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The ambiance was lively and enjoyable. The food was among the best we have ever had. Highly recommended for a fun and delicious night out. We will be back.

I’ve dined at Cabra several times in Chicago and LA and this was the first time I’ve been disappointed. Three of our five dishes were drowning in sauce that overwhelmed the main ingredients. Service, however, was outstanding. For what we paid, it would have been nice to be able to taste the food and not just the sauces.
