Wonderful authentic Italian food! We had a great server and the lasagna and gnocchi were delicious! We also tried the arancine appetizer, it was great! We finished with some delicious espresso!
We started with the spinach salad and flatbread with guanciale. Salad was a decent size portion, enough to split. They are rigid about making modifications to the point that our request for light amount or on the side dressing was declined. The amount of guanciale on the flatbread was minimal and I would not recommend it. Mains were gnocchi and rigatoni with braised oxtail. The latter had very good flavors and was a decent portion size. Gnocchi was fine, if a bit on the bland side, although that could be by intention. Spouse had considered the bass fish filet but did not order because she prefers that fish is cooked through and the server would not state the level of doneness; only that chef said that it would be cooked in the oven for 15 min. Beware of outside tables near the adjacent cigar bar if you don't like the odor. While glad we tried this place, on balance we won't be back.
Hi Brad, We understand your frustration. The waitress should not have denied your request. While we have strict recipes that we follow and will not change, dressing on the side/light is not one of them. We have a good number of new staff, and with a menu as detailed as ours, it's sometimes a challenge for newer servers. We apologize for any oversights that altered your experience with us. Let us know when you plan to revisit and we will ensure you are treated right! Cheers, Ca' Momi"
Loved it. Love the menu!
Food was good but service was slow. Overall, they were nice and the food was delicious with an adequate amount per serving.
Delicious food, amazing staff and beautiful ambiance! You can't go wrong dining here.
Our family of 4 went for dinner. We had the veal risotto, bolognese, four cheese pizza & the arincinni. Everything was just perfect. Lively ambience, great red wine & attentive waitstaff. We will gladly go again,
Great meal. Authentic Italian food. Great food and service. Fun evening.
Very busy night. The waitress told us there were absolutely no modifications but we then realized we would make modifications due to dietary restrictions, it would have been good to know. The food came out prompt but dessert was very delayed. Overall experience was good though. I would recommend the food!
My Husband and I enjoyed dining at Ca Momi. The food was very good. Food portions were generous. Wine was very good as well. We would definitely go back.
Burrata prosciutto appetizer and the tiramisu were outstanding. Looking forward to our next visit. So happy the Ca' Momi Osteria dining in experience is back!
We requested seating outdoors, but next time I will definitely sit indoors. The Cigar store next door is a problem and the traffic on First Street was truly obnoxious. Cars cruising, loud radios etc.
Good was sooooo good! Great place we loved it
First meal on our trip that really shined. The food, their Ca' Momi wine and the service was all excellent. They need better pictures for the web. Almost didn't go because of them. But gald we did.
Obsessively authentic Italian food. Does anything else need to be said. Best Napoletana Pizzas, wonderful desserts, and great atmosphere. Everything you want in a restaurant.
Took server 10 minutes to acknowledge and had a short fuse from the beginning. I understand getting back to normal is not easy. She was covering inside and outside. Took forever for main courses. I had to go to host at front door to get help
Eaten here multiple times and I hope they return to the place I could bring my Italian grandmother.
Great local food and nice variety. The only negative is the fact that it is located next to a tobacco shop and you can smell smoke if you are inside near the front or on the patio.
Warning! Do not make a reservation for outdoor dining if cigar smoke gives you a headache/nausea. I booked outside never having been, and upon arrival, discovered it was right next door to a cigar store where patrons smoke in the front entry with open doors. The entirety of Ca’ Momi’s outdoor dining area smells like an ashtray. I asked the hostess if we could be seated inside, but they had no flexibility due to being booked solid. My husband and I tried to stick it out because it is challenging to get another reservation in Napa last minute, but I had such a bad headache and nausea after a few minutes, there was no way we could enjoy food or wine there. The staff seemed shocked we were leaving, and I explained it was making me sick and the response was “there’s nothing we can do about it.” I completely understand they probably had no say over the business that went in next door, but they can communicate proactively to ensure outdoor dining patrons are aware of the smoke going in. I would’ve definitely booked indoors if I’d known prior.
The tomato panzanella salad was our favorite! And the service was great.
Best lasagna I’ve ever had. Pizza was exceptional also. 10/10. Wish I lived here so I could eat it more often!!!!!
Subpar food and lack of hospitality are not a recipe for success... When we arrived for a 5:30 reservation the restaurant was 100% empty, but the hostess would only seat us at a table closest to the hostess stand and the door. Very annoying! We were told that tables along the perimeter were fully booked, but when we left at 7:00pm the restaurant was at 50% capacity. The serving staff was pleasant and attentive. The Blanco salad was good, but Pollo Fritti (fried chicken) was unusually salty. Locals have lots of opportunities to dine mid week in Napa. It will be awhile before we return.
If it wasn’t for such poor service we may have really loved our time here. It took close to 15 minutes to get a Negroni. Once we got our food that was it, no “can I get you another drink?” Or “would you like some dessert?” Someone other than our waiter approached us after my wife left with our baby back to the car because we were left out in the cold (literally) for over 20 min after we finished our food. Unacceptable and sad! Great food but the sub par service will prevent me from coming back.
Far from “obsessively authentic” as the server stated. We got our food before we got our drinks. The pizza was soggy and extremely overpriced. Do not recommend
So happy they are finally back open! Food as always great! Exceptional service! So yummy, we already made a reservation for the weekend.
Very nice vibe and good cocktails. The "Italiana" pizza was also tasteful. Desert was the best.
Food was excellent and our waitress was very courteous! We would love to go back again when we are in Napa in the future.
Ca’Momi is our favorite spot for a date night and the only restaurant in town we keep coming back to (there’s a lot of good food in Napa, so we try everything once). We ate dinner on the first night of full re-opening and the food and service were as wonderful as ever!
Great service and reasonably priced happy hour. Meal was a bit expensive, but very good.
I've been to Ca'Momi several times and generally enjoy the food. The pizza's are wonderful, the small dishes and pasta also prepared well. My issue with this restaurant is mainly (2) Two Fold; # 1 its over the inflexibility or rigidity in accommodating their customers. They have a push back attitude when asked if some items can be prepared or presented in a different way. Its widely known they do not cut or slice their pizza's and you must request a knife or cutter to allow you to do that task. However when I requested our 90 second baked pizza be bake just a little longer and a tad extra crispy so the toppings would not slide into our laps from a mushy crust - I was look at as if that was blasphemous request. # 2 - their prices - and portions which are WAY to High given the conservative portion size and the fact many of the entrees are pasta. Hope they will have a few more affordable offering or perhaps half orders, etc.
If the chef’s philosophy is not to cut the pizza in the kitchen that’s fine....but A pizza cutter or a something other than a butter knife would be nice!
Very good. Pricey but worth it. Perfect for a small get together or date night.
Food was great. Service was average. Waitress went MIA for 15+ minutes multiple times.
Great authentic Italian food with excellent flatbread! Nice wine selection and lively atmosphere.
Outstanding restaurant with a varied and authentic menu, interesting decor set in a beautiful location. We enjoyed our visit here very much! So will you!
Brick Oven Pizza was good. They do not pre-slice the Pizza. When you cut it, the cheese slides off, leaving just the crust. Waiter was inattentive. Ordered second bottle of wine that never showed up and waiter never checked in again, so could do nothing about it. Eventually, enough time went by that it did not make sense to get the wine.
Really delicious appetizers— standouts were the beef tongue, sweetbreads.
Favorites entrees: lemon ricotta ravioli, ossobucco and duck with fig compote. I had the rigatoni with oxtail and it was too salty for my taste.
Beautiful environment— the lights were like stars everywhere.
Service was ok. Our waiter seemed a bit inexperienced and didn’t come around to refill water.
The food & service were great! I always bring out-of-town guests here since I know it will always be a fantastic experience. Our server was very sweet, and the manager Hillary was really fun to talk to when she checked in on us. Everyone made us feel like family despite it being a busy holiday weekend.
Thanks Especially liked the Chile oil instead of crushed red pepper.
The food is delicious! Love the roasted veggies and burrata, the greens and ricotta balls and the pizzas are always delicious.
This was quite disappointing. The service ranged from indifferent to bizarre. When I asked about two menu options, the waiter explained that one had no nutritional value, and I shouldn’t eat it because it was not healthy. That may have been true about the gnocchi, but it was hardly the question.
The food was unnecessarily fussy and not very good. With all the wonderful food in Napa Valley, I would steer clear of this place.
Fabulous food, fabulous service, their commitment to authentic Italian dishes is beyond compare!!! Bravissimo!!!
