Ca' Momi Osteria Ratings and Reviews
Such a disappointment to have such a bad meal. We had been here several times in the past for lunch and always enjoyed it. This was a meal with friends to introduce them to the restaurant. None of us will go back. Though there were only 3 occupied tables - for lunch on a Saturday - the pace of service was glacial. The food was so salty it was almost inedible. One of our party sent her tortellini in broth back to the kitchen because it was so salty she couldn’t eat it. She described it as tasting “like the ocean”. The “salad” of sautéed greens I ordered arrived as a glop of over cooked green mush with so much salt I left it alone after one bite. The only thing worth eating was the burrata with roasted vegetables. Other than that, it was a failure all around. I would add that my antennae were up when we arrived at the restaurant to find several tacky looking signs hanging in the windows advertising various upcoming events and specials at the restaurant. The signs were a blemish on a really lovely space. Don’t know what’s happened to this place, but it makes me sad.
Great ambience unfortunately the food didn’t match the great, contemporary environment. I ordered the fish which truly came out as a whole fish, head, eyes, bones and all. I actually would have been ok with this if this fish had a good flavor. It was cooked in lemon and green even olives - it was really bland. I couldn’t get enough salt and pepper in it to gain decent flavor. My friends ordered pizzas. They felt similar about the lack of flavor. One of the pizzas was cold. The edges of the pizza we’re also kind of charcoaly so had a bitter flavor. I also ordered the greens as a side dish. They were salty and Smokey tasting, not favorable. I took a bite and left them. The waitress was very nice however didn’t inquire as to what we thought of our meal. The bright spot was the wine. Their own wine is quite tasty, I highly recommend this spot for wine only.
This is the first time I have ever been there. I was totally impressed with the service, our waitress Kelsey was by far beyond excellent, she had many recommendations, all were great, along with tasting a wine before we ordered a bottle. Everything we ordered was amazing, all of her recommendations were spot on. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will for sure be returning.
While we understand the desire to maintain a traditional authentic feel and not allow North American style substitutions, the complete refusal to allow for any sides or Parmesan cheese or anything is beyond ridiculous. Ever since they left Oxbow Market the food has decreased in quality and taste .....we won’t be going back
Our party of four had an experience of a lifetime. Our waiter Daoud sensed that our group was having trouble trying to make our order as many of the menu items were a bit foreign (it was authentic Italian dishes that we don't get here), so he strongly suggested that if we trust him, he would give us an authentic Italian dinner. He and the restaurant did not disappoint at all! From the margherita pizza to the spinach/ricotta cheese dumplings to the alfredo/mushroom pasta to the veal to even the table wine, it was incredible. The staff were incredible keeping the plates moving on and off the table. Since my honeymoon in Italy, this place is the closest restaurant to being over there. Like in Italy, the food, staff and ambience all come together to give you a sensory smackdown you will never forget. Can't wait to go back again when my wife and I have the time
We made patio/veranda reservations which ended up being a sidewalk with no heat lamps and unfortunately we could not be moved inside. Food was good definitely authentic Italian however the prices were a little elevated for the portions especially the appetizers. They were understaffed but the manager was fantastic , she took our orders and helped us the whole time. I also always think it’s fair to inform people that gratuity is included when you are given the bill. We would have had a better experience if we ate inside.
I'm a Napa local and I come here a lot and the food is always on point. The last time I went the service was exceptional! I like the burrata and prosciutto plate, the caprese salad, and the spaghetti the best. They have great art work and usually have black and white movies projected on the wall behind the bar. Friday nights they typically have live music too. I love this place. Definitely one of my favorites in Napa.
As always love the food and atmosphere here. My best friend and I usually go here as they have a few vegan options. However we both felt that after the server found out we'd only be buying sides (vegan life) she totally ignored our table. Even though we both got cocktails. Never asked if we wanted another drink...we had to ask someone for water etc. but still one of my favorite places...
Multiple local people recommended Ca' Momi. One said it was on the river and outdoor seating would be very nice. Reviews boasted about the ambience and fancy toilets.
So when I arrived to find it not on the river and the ambiance was nice but not over the top my expectations plummeted. Also, spoiler alert, the toilets are square and otherwise very normal. However, the pasta I had was the very best I've had in 52 years of life. Go here. Go for the food.
With out of town guests, Ca Momi is one of our go-to spots to display great food in Napa. We were late to our reservation and they still managed to seat us at the bar. The service was great, wine menu had good choices, and the food was always as expected: delicious.
OK. The food was good. The look was good. The owner/manager? was great. It was the service. Ouch. Ruined the experience for us. After receiving our bill by asking for it, we waited 20 minutes to get it back. Need to upgrade level of service. My wife had a pizza. It was fantastic, but delivered to the table uncut. I finally flagged down the waitress. I asked her to have the kitchen cut the pizza. She said they would not do it. Come on! I understand the "obsessively authentic", but that is pure food OCD. I think even the Romans cut their pizza. I had the octopus and squid plate. The octopus was excellent. The squid was fishy.
Trying too hard
Not sure where to start.
Food: pizza's were great but played dishes either too bland or to spicy
Service: waitress was trying her best but was pulled between a private dinner in the back and is in the front. Food came out unorganized and things were missed
Atmosphere great if your at the bar where your close tables are long and the chairs are chunky and keep people far away from one another.
I am gluten free and to say the food was incredible is a serious understatement. They do such an amazing job accommodating food allergies and I am astounded at the gluten free pizza crust, I've never had a crust that delicious gluten free or regular. The atmosphere is quiet and enjoyable and the staff is amazing
Excellent food and service. Great restaurant, good location and comfortable atmosphere. They pride themselves on being authentically Italian and I felt that they met this through their use of fresh simple ingredients that bring out the true flavors of the food.
Always a good experience at Ca'Momi, starting with the host who greeted us and took time to check up on our table throughout dinner. Server was very responsive to any requests and made excellent recommendations - which we followed and were delighted we did!
Our food was great. The vegetables in the veggies and burratta were pretty greasy , though. The burratta was not as creamy as I would have liked. However, the flat bread that was served with it was grilled to perfection. The stuffed squash blossoms? Light, crisp, redolent of the generous amount of Gorgonzola inside. I would have ordered five orders if I'd known!
