Ca' Momi Osteria Ratings and Reviews
Love this place - fun wine list, they always have interesting Italian wines. And the pizzas are delicious. And dessert...everything here is so good. We've been here 3x. Only complaint was our last trip, we were seated next to some guy that was obnoxiously loud throughout the whole meal, but nothing the restaurant can really do about that. Overall highly recommended!
Convivial, friendly atmosphere and wonderful service by all staff members. It was our first time visiting and our main waiter gave us a thorough and informative overview. Everything from the small plates to pizza to pasta were delicious, and the wine list presented great local and Italian options. Desserts were excellent as well, with some unique choices. There were so many items on the dinner menu I wanted to try; I’ll have to come back!
We were early for our reservation and seated promptly in a very small table for two. ( The restaurant was empty) The food is outstanding but pricey and felt our server was disconnected.
We enjoyed the insalata bianca, mussels with tomato & garlic | campania, rigatoni with braised oxtail | lazio. For dessert, tiramisu, cannoli and cappuccino.
I wanted to love this place based on the menu; not your typical Americanized Italian fare. Unfortunately, lack of decent food preparation execution, the most uncomfortable seats I've sat in and blinking lights ruined the experience.
First off, the seats are these horribly uncomfortable wooden beasts which are supposed to look rustic (I think). The backs of the seats dig into your back and were not helped by the scant pillow available.
Secondly, all of the lights in the restaurant were blinking irregularly causing my dining companion no end of misery. Maybe this is not typical, maybe so.
Finally and most importantly, the food…I had a wild mushroom and porcini pasta and it was one of the most tasteless mushroom dishes I've ever had. Adding sautéed mushrooms to a cream-based sauce simply doesn't suffice. I got no essence of mushroom flavor in the sauce whatsoever. The roasted vegetables served with the burrata were the sorriest part of the meal. They were simply roasted too long (too dark and some even burnt) and completely lost their distinct flavors. I had to roast my own vegetables this last weekend to remind myself just how fantastic they can be when properly roasted.
I should say the sautéed greens were delicious and I ate more of those than my pasta.
The only other positive thing I can put on this place is the service was mostly good. Initially a waiter showed up and then passed us off to another waitress. She was very helpful and professional.
Such a disappointment to have such a bad meal. We had been here several times in the past for lunch and always enjoyed it. This was a meal with friends to introduce them to the restaurant. None of us will go back. Though there were only 3 occupied tables - for lunch on a Saturday - the pace of service was glacial. The food was so salty it was almost inedible. One of our party sent her tortellini in broth back to the kitchen because it was so salty she couldn’t eat it. She described it as tasting “like the ocean”. The “salad” of sautéed greens I ordered arrived as a glop of over cooked green mush with so much salt I left it alone after one bite. The only thing worth eating was the burrata with roasted vegetables. Other than that, it was a failure all around. I would add that my antennae were up when we arrived at the restaurant to find several tacky looking signs hanging in the windows advertising various upcoming events and specials at the restaurant. The signs were a blemish on a really lovely space. Don’t know what’s happened to this place, but it makes me sad.
Great ambience unfortunately the food didn’t match the great, contemporary environment. I ordered the fish which truly came out as a whole fish, head, eyes, bones and all. I actually would have been ok with this if this fish had a good flavor. It was cooked in lemon and green even olives - it was really bland. I couldn’t get enough salt and pepper in it to gain decent flavor. My friends ordered pizzas. They felt similar about the lack of flavor. One of the pizzas was cold. The edges of the pizza we’re also kind of charcoaly so had a bitter flavor. I also ordered the greens as a side dish. They were salty and Smokey tasting, not favorable. I took a bite and left them. The waitress was very nice however didn’t inquire as to what we thought of our meal. The bright spot was the wine. Their own wine is quite tasty, I highly recommend this spot for wine only.
This is the first time I have ever been there. I was totally impressed with the service, our waitress Kelsey was by far beyond excellent, she had many recommendations, all were great, along with tasting a wine before we ordered a bottle. Everything we ordered was amazing, all of her recommendations were spot on. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will for sure be returning.
While we understand the desire to maintain a traditional authentic feel and not allow North American style substitutions, the complete refusal to allow for any sides or Parmesan cheese or anything is beyond ridiculous. Ever since they left Oxbow Market the food has decreased in quality and taste .....we won’t be going back
Our party of four had an experience of a lifetime. Our waiter Daoud sensed that our group was having trouble trying to make our order as many of the menu items were a bit foreign (it was authentic Italian dishes that we don't get here), so he strongly suggested that if we trust him, he would give us an authentic Italian dinner. He and the restaurant did not disappoint at all! From the margherita pizza to the spinach/ricotta cheese dumplings to the alfredo/mushroom pasta to the veal to even the table wine, it was incredible. The staff were incredible keeping the plates moving on and off the table. Since my honeymoon in Italy, this place is the closest restaurant to being over there. Like in Italy, the food, staff and ambience all come together to give you a sensory smackdown you will never forget. Can't wait to go back again when my wife and I have the time
We made patio/veranda reservations which ended up being a sidewalk with no heat lamps and unfortunately we could not be moved inside. Food was good definitely authentic Italian however the prices were a little elevated for the portions especially the appetizers. They were understaffed but the manager was fantastic , she took our orders and helped us the whole time. I also always think it’s fair to inform people that gratuity is included when you are given the bill. We would have had a better experience if we ate inside.
I'm a Napa local and I come here a lot and the food is always on point. The last time I went the service was exceptional! I like the burrata and prosciutto plate, the caprese salad, and the spaghetti the best. They have great art work and usually have black and white movies projected on the wall behind the bar. Friday nights they typically have live music too. I love this place. Definitely one of my favorites in Napa.
