C3 Bar Ratings and Reviews
While visiting family and friends in Bloomington, we took our niece and her husband to C3 as a first time experience for all 4 of us. Our wish for good and creative food was more than fulfilled with delicious and sometimes unexpected combinations that worked well together. The wine list had choices for all tastes, portions were appropriate (at least for us), service was discrete and efficient with as much or as little explanation as we requested and while there was a gentle buzz of conversation around us, we could hear each other well and were able to get caught up on family events. We enjoyed both cocktails and wine and were impressed with those as well. I would definitely go there again and recommend it to anyone who enjoys creative, tasty food.
C3 has been one of my regular stops on Thursdays and Saturdays when they have live jazz. Good food (smaller European like portions but a high quality and innovative culinary experience. Regular jazz performances and unique cocktails (a bigger selection of single malts would be nice). Highly recommend if you are looking for an upscale but not pretentious spot.
Had a very good dinner at C3. Menu was creative, the food was excellent, and the pricing was very reasonable compared to other restaurants of this caliber. The only disappointment was dessert, but the server removed the dessert from our check. Highly recommended and we will go back.
Decided to try C3 after the seasonal menu change and addition of a new Chef. We were not disappointed of the choices and the food. The Cocktail selection was great as usual with a nice variety of the popular staples and new additions. The frites which we always get were a little disappointing as they were a bit soggy and not firm and crisp as before.
First time here. Lovely room & great food. We shared fries then went separate ways: Caesar (served with scrumptious roasted Brussels sprouts!) & gnocchi; special entree of beef tips, & roast chicken. Clean Plate Club all around. Wine pours are a bit spare, but good choices. We definitely will be back. And it's open Monday nights.
I wanted to like this place, but the food was just "okay." The apps were better than my main, which was a sea bass special. I've never had undercooked fish (outside of sushi), but this was a bit raw for my taste. We were on a business dinner, so I didn't raise the concern with our server. My gin cocktail was pretty good, but nothing amazing. My colleague ordered a cocktail with gummy bears in it, which seemed out of place for a restaurant going for "upscale." I'll definitely try them again, as I suspect other cocktails are well balanced.
So happy for C3's expansion and joining Open Table! My husband had the trout and grits and it was delicious. I had a chicken taco and a vegetarian stuffed pepper. Both were good, but could have been tastier with a bit more sauce/flavor. Service was wonderful.
If you are looking for something different just a little outside of "downtown Bloomington," then C3 is a nice change. In truth, the menu is a little confusing. Our party couldn't decide if it was offering tasting menu/tapas or full entrees. Yet, it was clear that the emphasis was on locally sourced, farm-to-table ingredients, right down to its cocktail offerings. Our group split a few starters, which were fresh and beautifully presented. The "main courses" were small but surprisingly filling. In fact, the lamb kabobs with local goat cheese were worth the drive! C3 is tucked away in a townhouse complex and you will never stumble upon it by chance. However, it is a fun and relatively close alternative to the usual offerings in town.
We were very excited to experience a Farm-to-Table resto and must say we're disappointed. It took one hour and twenty minutes for the waiter to bring us our entrees. Not sure what happened. The manager apologized and was kind enough to make it up to us by bringing desserts on the house. Although we could tell the ingredients were fresh, the preparation of the dishes was mediocre and certainly not worth the inexcusable wait. I would never go back.
