Clark and Schwenk, friends over the years, discussed starting a place of their own and traded ideas over what the menu would be like. Finally, at the beginning of 2007, they felt ready to strike out on their own and made that vision happen. “I looked around Atlanta and saw a need for a really good old-school restaurant,” Clark says. That restaurant would become C&S Oyster Bar, specializing in classic New York and Paris brasserie-style cuisine. Clark possesses a passion for French cuisine and claims that it comes from the French’s appreciation for balance. Their focus on vegetables, fish, and meat as the primary vehicles of flavor allow for emphasis to be placed on the freshness of the ingredients.

I have been to a LOT (over 200) of restaurants in Atlanta and I must say experience at C&S was in my top 3. I hope that if you come you get Erchell Hamilton as a server he was, hands down, the best server I have ever had. The food was great but he added everything I didn’t know was missing. 10/10

I pray and hope when you get seated, your waiter is Herschel. Excellent service. Excellent recommendations has to be the best server I’ve ever had the pleasure of being served by hands-down that’s right.

I always enjoy myself when I come and Mohamed was amazing. He was attentive, friendly and he kept my and my guest laughing all night long. Definitely will be back next week for the oysters and for Mohamed to make me laugh.

The oysters are the best in the whole city. Make sure to go during the happy hour special.

Everything was good. Just a bit of a shortfall on the service. They brouht the salad out and perhaps, one minute later, brought the entree. When I said that it was too soon, the Waiter said ..."Well, you dont want the food to get cold" We told him to take it back and keep it warm till we finished the salads. The waiter did not come back to check on us during the meal and the restaurant was not really busy. I had to go up to the Hostess stand to ask for some more lemons for my fish. Other than these two occurances, all was good.

Loved my experience. This was my first time but will not be my last time….the three important things are customer service, good food and great cocktails….all exceeded my expectations.
