Fantastic Sunday Brunch!!
The food was amazing. The experience was fantastic. I had a small birthday dinner and it could not have been more perfect. I’m truly grateful for their attentiveness, recommendations, and general friendliness. I’d highly recommend this place.
Decent service, swordfish was good, duck terribly undercooked, ricotta agnolotti was a very small portion. Curry rabbit ok. Wine selection and sommelier were good. Overall over-priced for the experience.
Go with the appetizers/small plates over the mains
All four courses of the Valentine's Day menu were delicious with the Beet Ravioli being brilliant. The wine pairing was a delightful adventure with selections rare and delicious.
Vacationing for valentines weekend and amazing NOLA dining. Stepped out of my comfort zone with this prix fix dinner and was blown away! Beet ravioli with black truffle! OMG...drooling. Can’t wait to go back

We read about Bywater Am Bistro in an airline magazine and liked the idea of eating in this up and coming neighborhood just outside of the French Quarter. I ordered the citrus salad with the smoked swordfish and was blown away by how light and refreshing the salad was but bursting with flavor from the smoked swordfish and citrus. My husband ordered the duck breast which had generous portions with an outstanding sauce. my non-alcoholic "shrub" drink was spot on and did a good job of making me not miss alcohol. My husband's cocktail (can't remember) was also good. Decor and ambiance were great, our waiter was okay but not the most engaging person. That said, our overall experience was great and we'd go back again if we're ever in NO again... This is a restaurant I hope to see last for a long while...

First time there and we'd go back in a minute. All of the food from the appetizers thru dessert was amazing. Drinks were great as well, and the sommelier was very helpful. Everyone was very friendly and the vibe was great. Highly recommended.
Just an overall wonderful experience as we loved the staff and what comes out of the kitchen makes the taste buds jump! Kinda nice that it is off the beaten path too!

Fabulous restaurant by Nina Compton of Top Chef fame. It’s in the Bywater District — artsy and away from tourist areas — in a converted warehouse building. Cool, industrial vibe with great cocktails and innovative cuisine. If this weren’t our first trip to New Orleans, we would eat here again this visit. Our waitress was great and made great recommendations of other up and coming places to eat in the city.
What a fabulous experience, from start to finish! Everything was superb, especially the jerk chicken, but we didn't have a mouthful of any food that we didn't love. The spices are so exotic, and the food so flavorful. The service was superb, and so was the ambiance. Would go back in a heartbeat!
We were very happy to get in when we did. The place filled up quit fast, as we like to eat early. I had friends from Ga, Pa, Tn, and Ms. it was our annual pre cruise dinner. We were all very pleased with our meal selection, service and where we were seated. We all had a different starter, entrée and dessert. It made our dinner experience very interesting. I love the freshness of your food selections.
We will be back again very soon. I have a house in the Bywater.

Somewhat underwhelmed by the food and service. Some in our party loved their dish, others just ok. Fish was so undercooked it was raw inside and sent it back. Wait staff was ambivalent although manager did come over and comp the fish dish after we complained.
Great wine pairing recommendations! Friendly staff and the food, as always, is fantastic.

The food was flavorful and uniquely presented. It was a delight to the pallet with innovative food combinations.
Our service was exceptional. Our server was Alex, he demonstrated great attention to detail from paying great detail to and recalling our allergies for food preparation to his delightful personality and recommendations.
I would most certainly return on all future trips to New Orleans and bring friends. Before leaving the city we already recommended to four friends.
The BABs mimosas were delicious with the passion fruit accent.
We had a delicious, creative meal with very attentive waitstaff. Parking was super easy, with a large parking lot. We'd be glad to return.
BAB is an absolute gem. I’ve been for both brunch and dinner, and the food for both meals was incredibly delicious. The chef brings in local New Orleans cuisine without the heaviness while maintaining the flavor. The staff is knowledgeable and warm. The space is great for groups as well as dates. It’s on my list of places to visit every time I’m back.
Craft cocktails were excellent - menu was a bit limited, however, especially the second course/pasta-type dishes....... but overall good and a fun experience.
Chef Nina's second restaurant (first being Compere Lapin) is a gastronomic joy. My wife and I have eaten here three times and each time the meal was memorable. I had the Rabbit Curry which was outstanding. We shared a lovely cheese plate as an appetizer. The drinks are great and the wine selection has an excellent range, I had a wonderful Hungarian red with my meal. This restaurant should be on your list when visiting New Orleans.
Recently returning from Italy, I was very interested in finding my latest craving that may possibly rival what I found in Milan, amazing Pasta Carbonara. I have to say the chef at Bywater Bistro nailed it! Was as amazing as Italy’s, if not even better, which is the American way. The Avocado Toast was too to die for. This restaurant is now high on my list in NOLA, which is a bold statement!
Overall my girlfriend and I had a great experience. We had a reservation for a Saturday night and were sat immediately upon arrival and greeted by our server within a minute. The food and wine knowledge of the staff was fantastic and they were all so attentive to our needs. Although delicious, the food was a bit meh. We expected a bit more of a wow factor on our entree's course and were left a little unimpressed with seared duck and BBQ beans. The menu changes seasonally and we will be back in a few months to take another crack at it.
Delicious. Party of 3. One had chicken. One had snapper. The vegetarian had the mushroom farro risotto. We shared the tuna toast and charred okra. And we all shared the papaya meringue and Nutella flan. Holy smokes. Every bite delicious. Our server was attentive and lovely, and the sommelier was very helpful w wine choice. We’ll be back.
They really need to consider adding new items to their brunch menu...which hasn’t changed much in many months. So it’s very limited and now a bit boring for someone like me that has brunched there several times in the past 6 months. I hope to see some new exciting choices soon...as this place is great, but needs a menu revamp ASAP!!
My husband and I visited Bywater American Bistro last week and we had such an amazing experience. The service was phenomenal - someone was consistently filling our glasses, clearing plates, etc. Our server was incredibly nice and very knowledgeable about the menu. She was even thoughtful enough to write a list of places to visit in New Orleans when we discussed the types of places we liked to visit while in town. The food. The FOOD. Everything we had was delicious but I had one of those crazy, fireworks in my brain moments when I ate the jerk chicken rice. It was comfort food in the most beautifully made way possible and I had to fight the urge to lick the bowl clean. We will absolutely be back!

New Year's Eve dinner. Prix Fixe menu. Food, cocktails, and wine pairings were excellent. Our third time to dine at Bywater and we look forward to returning again soon!

Excellent experience! Everything was wonderful from the food and ambience to the service and drinks. We enjoyed the duck entree, so flavorful. Both the shrimp and fois torchon appetizers were also delicious. The service was very attentive and made our anniversary feel extra special. We will return and I highly recommend BAB.
Wonderful meal, fantastic wine list, great people.
I’d love to love BAB, but gotta say it is hit and miss. Service is always great but the food is sometimes just ok.
