Bywater American Bistro
Always the most delicious food in the city! Friendly service, great wine list with wait staff well educated about it, a place to return again and again.
Dinner was lovely, atmosphere was busy but not too loud for conversation. Food and drinks were excellent. Just an over all lovely experience.
Great place! Been several times. Hard to pick dinner choices since it is all delicious! Glad we live close so we can go when we we choose!
Good not great
Food was great and reasonably priced. Dessert (Nutella flan with lime) was inedible due to extremely bitter (maybe scorched?) sauce. They offered a replacement but we were so full from the other delicious food it was not a big deal.
It was an amazing meal and place. Service was flawless by all
The restaurant has an up beat vibe, casual and classy. Very knowledgeable, attentive waitstaff. The fish dish options were outstanding and so was the duck. It was a little easier ordering from this menu compared to Compère Lapin.
We were a party of 4, with 3 of us ordering the Restaurant Week Special, which made dining a good deal! The food was tasty (especially the hog head boudin), lovely presentation, and the wait staff very knowledgeable and helpful. Our waiter was especially knowledgeable about wine and beverage selections, which added to the enjoyment. I will definitely come here again, as well as recommend to my friends .
First time visiting since we moved to New Orleans. Very nice space with a comfortable open ambiance. Service was great, as was the food. Can’t wait to come back and try some other dishes!
Great ambiance and a fun place for brunch. Unlimited mimosas are always a plus and the avocado toast with deviled egg spread is delicious!
Food was okay nothing fantastic, probably won't go back.
One of the best meals I have ever had start to finish!
Truly excellent. A league apart. Excellent food, cocktails, and service. It’s on my top restaurants list
Looking forward to going back. The service was excellent and the food was delish; however, I thought the variety was a little flat. The Rabbit, Swordfish and Duck were all worthy of a second trip as are the oysters. What took away from this eating adventure was the wonky table and the terribly hard bistro chairs. They were very uncomfortable and really took away from the overall enjoyment of the meal.
Love Miss Nina, but those chairs got to go....
The food was amazing and the service perfect! Everybody is very friendly. Definitely a must go!!!
Fantastic experience! Start to finish the meal was stellar. The drinks were great, the service was wonderful!
The food was absolutely delightful. The gazpacho had a unique frozen creme dollop, brrrrr. The only disappointment was the presentation of the cheese platter on a silver plastic platter.
This is one of my favorite restaurants to dine when I am in New Orleans. I have dined here several times previously and have never had a bad experience.
My last visit was the same, great food, friendly and awesome service, and beautiful surroundings.
I would highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
Superb menu. Friendly, knowledgeable service. Meals to die for.
The food was very good and I would go back to try more menu options, however the service was amateurish. Management should work to ensure that the service meets the quality of the food.
wonderful restaurant, worth the trip to the Bywater, service spot on, extremely enjoyable evening!
BABS is awesome! The staff is like family. The food is ridiculous! I always want to lick the bowls!
BAB is one of the most interesting restaurants in New Orleans
Unusual but wonderful flavor combinations, great wine list, incredible service make this one of our favorites in the city
As always, a great dining experience! The Coolinary menu which was offered there was perfect.
Great service and food!
Always wanted to try Nina Compton’s cuisine but had been told Compere Lapin was ‘good, but spotty’ by too many local New Orleanians. BAB’s reviews were better so we took the chance. My thoughts? ‘Good, but spotty.’ Some truly amazing dishes were tempered by flaws in others. Still, great ambience if a tad noisy and professionally warm service. Can’t make a glowing recommendation, but worth trying for the effort in the food and the attention to the guest’s experience.
This was one of the best meals I have had in a long time! Every dish was delicious - the hamachi crudo, gazpacho, agnolotti, swordfish, nutella flan - all incredible! And, the service was top notch as well - Alex and Alison were wonderful!
The food was very good, but all of the choices had too much bread on the brunch menu. Either sandwiches or French toast. The tempo was a little slow and a side item was forgotten until we were done eating.
The food is great and our service was exemplary - this place is always a delight! Knowledgeable and warm/friendly staff.
Everything was amazing. The drinks, the food and service all on point! Loved it.
Very nice place. We have been here several times. The food is superb. Very nice service and also a very attractive setting. We went at 10PM, so it was not crowed. It is very popular at normal times and hard to get in. Therefore it can be noisy.
In the trendy Bywater section of New Orleans near NOCCA. Good parking and well lighted parking lot.
Dined last night and the entire staff was so kind to my mother who is visiting. She had some dietary preferences that they rolled with and we had a lovely experience.
Our sever was phenomenal! Amazing cocktail and food recommendations. Everything was delicious. I will definitely be recommending Bywater Bistro.
We’re in the minority, but from our single experience, the service was inattentive, the food was over seasoned and salty, the space was very noisy, but the setting is very nice.
Nice but sorry no extended review. Coming
4 1/2 stars. Went for the Coolinary specials. Food was wonderful, except for that buttermilk sorbet (ick!). Wine was expensive and not that great. My wife's cocktail was good. Service was good. The place was quiet, but it was half empty.
This was our second visit to BAB. It was outstanding in every way! We visit NOLA every August and BAB as well as Compere Lapin are musts on our lists when we are here. For us New Orleans is all about the food and when asked by anyone visiting Nina’s restaurants are where we recommend! Thank you for such a delicious and memorable meal. Next level♥️
Great selection of International wines. Food was good, but not exceptional. Service was excellent and easy to park location.
Fantastic space and experience! Highly recommend the Tuna Toast and Pamadoro pasta. Flavors are all so simple yet perfect together. My only problem was the roasted carrots. Way too salty and buttery. The dessert menu could also use revision. Everything else was exceptional.
