We came to Byrsa for dinner after having been there when it first opened. It was just k compared to the first time.
What a find in Kennett Square. Good food and whatever dish had mushrooms was outstanding.
First time here and we were very impressed with the food, service and portions. We brought our own wine and had an enjoyable evening with our adult children. Will definitely be back!
A little disappointed
(4) ~ very good overall food & service
** Water (tap) = (4) very good, must be filtered;)
** Yard's Brewery English Mild "Brawler" = (4) very tasty
** Coffee = (4) very fresh
** Moroccan Mint Tea = (4) very authentic & tasted like spearmint gum
** Mushroom Soup = (4) very good
** Beef Short Ribs Flatbread = (4) very tasty. Note: The Flatbreads are personal sized and the pizza is for sharing.
** Chocolate Mousse = (4) very creamy;)
* Pistachio Baklava = (3.75) Good, but we've had better...
Inexperienced, young wait staff provided terrible service although very friendly. The wait for our entrees was crazy long. But the food was good, nice serving sizes (enough to take some home) also although salads were enormous.
Entrees we’re salmon, excellent, lamb & cavatelli, very good , and fajitas also good. Hopefully they will increase and train the staff soon
Very disappointed. I have dined at Byrsa Bistro in the past and was quite pleased. This time, restaurant was nearly empty, wait staff were friendly but very inattentive. Food was average at best. I will not be back.
Byrsa always serves the best food with the freshest ingredients. The ambiance is nice, quiet and the service is always good. The lamb cavatelli and the beef bolognese are exceptional and one of the best things is this is a BYOB restaurant that does not have a corkage charge. Ahmed, the owner is regularly present and ensures his guests have a pleasant experience.
I had the Chicken and Tortellini, my husband had the Salmon and Salad. We were both very happy. The little potato cake that accompanied the salmon was a special surprise. My tortellini dish was wonderful, the sauce wasn’t too heavy, and the ingredients were so fresh! Both dishes were piping hot. We even ordered a dessert, the pistachio baklava, the three pieces were the perfect finish.
The pizzas and salads are very, very good!! We would dine there again.
It was also service with a smile and patience with our granddaughter who had a hard time deciding.
We had one night in Kennett. Very enjoyable sitting outside on a beautiful night. Find was outstanding. Great that we could bring our own special bottle of wine.
Excellent service & food was wonderful!
I have been going to Byrsa Bistro for many, many years. In fact, I think I started dining here when it first opened! This is a wonderful restaurant with absolutely delicious and unusual food choices. I love the owner! Truthfully, This restaurant got me through the pandemic over the last year and a half. On very, very special days and cold evenings, I would call for delivery. Again, everything was perfect, and thoughtfully and artistically presented
The restaurant was understaffed resulting in an extremely slow dinner service. As a result we didn’t order additional drinks or dessert. Not the waitress’ fault. She was serving 8 different tables. Inside and out.
waited forever to get our good. no one even came to attend us for ever .
food was so expensive and just horrible . what a waste of money and time
Food is always top notch. Quickly becoming a regular stop for us. Love the fact it’s a BYOB.
I thought the food and service were very good. However, the owner(s) need to do a better job of providing wine. Their choices were not good and had their name on the label, which is stupid unless they are making their own wine.
The service got off to a slow start as we had to wait 15-20mins for a server after being seated. After the wait, things started to click and we had an outstanding experience. We would definitely return.
Fantastic find... first time. We met the owner and another couple who were friends of his. Such a fun time, great food and service.
The noise since we sat outside is an issue due to kids revving their cars and racing up and down the street. That's a township issue.
It's not fair to the restaurant owners and patrons that want to enjoy a nice quiet meal outside.
I really like the fact that I could make a reservation for outside dining. There were plenty of tables set up on the sidewalk. The chairs were comfortable. The iced tea was fantastic. I asked how they brewed their tea and the waitress said that it is half mint tea and half black. It was delicious. Prices were a bit high but they are located in a town so it was to be expected. Loved their version of an antipasto appetizer. The mushroom soup was different as there were no large slices of mushroom but more of a bisque but was wonderful and nice and hot. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to friends esp for outdoor dining.
Always a great meal! The staff was attentive and the pre-dinner mojito was the best I have ever had!
Always a pleasure to dine here especially with BYOB. We love Mediterranean food and it does not disappoint!
Outside in an almost magical setting with great food and friendly service
Love this place! Bring back the chicken :-)
We have had Paella before, but not for over a year. Quality has decreased greatly. Overcooked rice, seafood of poor quality and even worse quantity. So disappointed. We will not return. So sorry to lose this option.
To start out with the 15min wait for drinks and appetizer (cold appetizer) we decide to sat inside because it was getting cold, after we sat inside that's when they brought our appetizers and drinks. After 30 minutes waiting for our food, the food came in my partner order Paella(we are Hispanics we know how it looks PAELLA), well it was soup, the seafood was gummy (overcooked), I order Bolognese pasta, pasta was a little thick and beef was to grainy (overcooked) and dark to my taste. The wine was nasty. We felt bad for the staff (short staff) there were running around like crazy.
Great food! Caprese Salad was amazing! Everything wonderful.
Sad experience at Byrsa Bistro. First of all the only beer or wine available is made in PA. We tried the rose and it was not drinkable but not attempt was made to remove the charge or offer another choice. We ordered the Mediterranean appetizer and a guacamole appetizer to share among the 4 of us. Portions were very small, although the menu said it was meant to be shared. The hummus and tomato relish lacked seasoning, which was odd given that the other dishes were over seasoned. The asparagus/ramp soup got rave reviews all around. The salad were essentially very fresh Romaine lettuce but not much else. A mushroom pizza was large and full of mushrooms. The pasta with lamb had overcooked pasta and very little lamb or other seasoning. Two of us got paella. While multiple seafoods were listed on the menu, it was mostly mussels with a few shrimp. The rice was mush. For one of us the paella was entirely over spiced. The spiciness was not noted on the menu. Very little was eaten of that entree and again no questions were asked. The server was a very nice young man, not old enough to drink as he told us when we asked about the wine. The menu pricing is not high, but given the poor quality of the food , it was overpriced.
The food and service was very good!! We were happy to be out and about.
Out of town guests
Service and food were amazing! What a gem of a place!
First time there. Disappointed with the portions especially for the price. Will not return
Had 5:15 reservation in a Friday night. I don’t know if the waitress was new or just bad. Ordered a bottle of wine (their own brand Sauvignon blanc-bleh). Asked waitress if she had something to chill the bottle to which we received a blank stare and then she said she could take it back down out in the refrigerator for us. We asked do you have an ice bucket? “Oh yeah. “. It was very disjointed service. Asked for some bread with our entrees. Another tough question for another waitress. She finally said,” I could do some pita”. We literally had to help them learn how to serve. Food was ok but overall experience will not bring me back. Disappointing bc my last experience at their place across the street was exceptional.
Great menus, food, and service! Highly recommend!
Went for a pizza night. Their pizza is outstanding and service impeccable. I see they now added Mexican fare. Can't wait to try.
Front of the house too busy, could not keep up with take out pick up, and inside dining. Trying to change to add Tex Mex in addition spreads too thin. Disappointing.
Best mushroom soup in Kennett. The restaurant has 2 sides now, with Byram on the right and Mexican on the left. Items can be ordered from either side. The tacos are really more like mini fajitas.
Always great food and wonderful service
The branzino and salmon were very good and a perfect portion. The mushroom soup was very flavorful. We enjoyed our visit.
A little drafty cold in the window area. The restaurant is cute and they had rose petals out. Dolmades were good. Bronzino was thin and crispy with good vegetables. The lamb and noodle dish was lacking lamb. Two small
Pieces of lamb in our dish. Strange it was served to us that way. It was good tasting though. Service was very good. Wine we bought was more a white table wine not Sauvignon Blanc tasting. Will be back!
