Great food and service. Table was well spaced. All good!
Food was terrific with good service. Enjoyed the seafood diavolo and wife really liked the bronzino. Will definitely go here again.
We had a reservation for 2, turned out we had to arrive late, and brought 4 more people....they could not have been nicer and accommodated us with a smile!!!!
Great food, service and environment
Excellent food, every item savory & delicious. Wonderful intimate environment. Lovely!
In my opinion, this is one of the best restaurants in the Greater Philadelphia area! The food was outstanding! The service was friendly. We were satisfied and full after a three course meal but had to try the espresso creme brûlée for dessert. It was the best creme brûlée I have ever had in my life! So unique and flavorful like all the other dishes. Excellent restaurant!
Our second time eating here and this time we brought friends. Wonderful experience.
A genuine Valentine's Weekend delight. We loved the ambiance, the food was outstanding, the service impeccable. We consider Byrsa Bistro one of the great restaurants in Chester County. Thank you for a lovely evening. We will be back!
The food is always fabulous and service superb! One of our favorites.
Exquisite food and great service!
We had a lovely Valentine’s Day dinner at Byrsa Bistro.
First time here on Valentine’s Day for dinner.
Food was delicious! Plan on going back again tonight
This was our second time back. The food and service were amazing! My husband thought $130 per couple was a lot for a 3 course meal plus we ordered a dessert. I think a glass of wine would be a nice addition to the meal. Also, background music would help make it less quiet in there as well so you don’t hear your neighbors conversation. Overall though another fantastic experience.
Randomly found this quaint restaurant that responded excellently to our large diverse group with many food allergies - touché to the wonderful owner, chef and staff!
Love this place. The environment is charming, the food amazing and healthy, and the service was a perfect pace. A nice relaxing night with burrata appetizer and the sea bass was delicious. I can’t wait to try the basement wine room for a special event and to try the outdoor seating in the warmer weather.
Country setting in an old house with separate seating areas created a good atmosphere with delicious food. The lamb shank fell off the bone and was very tender. The espresso crepe brûlée was full of coffee flavor and melted in your mouth. We shared among 4 and each had 1 bite which we savored. We look forward to our next visit.
This was our second trip to Byrsa Bistro with friends (another couple). Both experiences were outstanding, and we especially appreciate that it's BYOB. It's also located in a charming home (the owner lives upstairs, we learned), next to a historic train station in an area known as Glen Mills, next to a stream and down the street from a favorite local winery, Grace Winery (also a bed and breakfast. This charming, bucolic area is a perfect spot for this charming restaurant that also serves as an Orvis outlet. It almost felt like we were dining in a gift shop, but not in a bad way. The decore, the seating, the ambiance, and the service were all very good. I ordered the paella, which was very good - a little dry, but the seafood was excellent. They offer a 3 course, $45 menu that is very ample in portions. The flatbread appetizer alone is equivalent to a small pizza (to share, of course). The mushroom soup was superb. Everyone enjoyed their meals but wow, were we way too full to consider dessert. We will return and are happy it is close to our home. Casual, but classy.
An adorable restaurant tucked away in an old train station. Great food and very good service. I highly recommend it!
Our last visit to Byrsa Bistro was great however this visit was a dude. Aside from the Mediterranean Sampler appetizer and the Mushroom Soup, the food was just ok. The service was attentive and friendly & the atmosphere is great. Bland food combined with a $160 bill (with tip. Sat night is price fixe), Byrsa won't be at the top of our restaurant choice list for a while. We'll definitely give it another visit, but this visit was a big disappointment.
Excellent food, ambiance and service. We always enjoy dinner at Byrsa Bistro, knowing that we will get a good meal without being rushed. It is a great place for a romantic evening.
They appeared to be a little short staffed. Despite having a reservation we were asked to sit at a table on the porch which was very cold
Food was great, charming little place! Really loved it!
Our favorite place to go eat!
Great find! We tried several local wines and were very pleased and impressed.
Great Mediterranean food!! Never disappoints.
Great food. Love the price fix menu. The mushroom soup was delicious!
Restaurant is a converted old classical house. Really enjoyed the main room we dined in which has a classy nod to fly fishing. We had a party of 8, order all the apps and a variety of mains which were enjoyed by all. The big standout was the mushroom flatbread which got raves from everyone. Was a little disappointed that they don't have specials given the fairly limited menu. Noticed that the autumn menu appears to be the same as the late summer menu as well. That being said, we are still looking for oking forward to going back. I'd classify this as a hidden gem.
Lovely setting with excellent prep and freshness. Salads are original and delicious. Enjoyed delicious paella and lamb with cavatelli.
The staff needs more training they clearly did not know what they were doing
A great meal in a comfortable and appealing setting. We love this restaurant.
Love this place!! Food is amazing. Service is friendly and attentive. Ambiance feels like dining in a nice home. Byrsa Bistro is our favorite!
Perfectly wonderful! The ambiance of the bistro is charming. Service was superb and food was delicious. The wines offered were their own product which added to the whole dinner ( the Pinot noir is great!)
Fabulous food, unique ambiance, comfortable and casual. BYOB with beer and wine available. Staff are friendly and nice, but not terribly attentive.
Have visited Byrsa a number of times and always consistently good.
Byrsa took over a train station at Glen Mills (the end of the line for the West Chester train excursions). The station had been an Orvis Pro Shop and a bistro - now, the restaurant occupies the entire station.
The casual feel and quaint look to the station and surrounding gardens makes the spot especially attractive. While out-of the way, it's less than 15 minutes from Rt. 202 at Dilworthtown, and had plenty of free parking.
Like all good specialty food restaurants, the menu offers a select set of entrees - about ten - which ensures expertise in preparation. As you would expect with a Lebanese chef, there are lamb dishes and fish (I am having the Branzino next time). But they add unusual dishes that have a Mediterranean spin. I had a paella with the customary mussels, shrimp and clams, but with the addition of lamb meatballs, olives, and spices. The result was a new take on a classic dish - both creative and delicious. It was served in a beautiful clay crock, as was my wife's chicken and vegetables - this one a Middle-Eastern spin on a local Amish recipe. They also have a seafood pasta and vegetarian options.
On Saturdays they have a fix pre' menu including appetizers and salad course. Other days they are ala carte, closed Monday and Tuesday. We had the shared Mediterranean plate with hummus, spiced carrots and olives. Second, we tried one of the best beet salads we have had, locally as well as a cauliflower and asparagus soup.
Byrsa recently added a bar with beers and wine, but still allow you to BYOB. This lovely bistro is a gem that offers a chef's personal vision (owner Ahmed Chraga) that produces dishes that are unique and satisfying.
Excellent food and service
Fabulous food and exceptionally friendly staff‼️
