A great meal in a comfortable and appealing setting. We love this restaurant.
Love this place!! Food is amazing. Service is friendly and attentive. Ambiance feels like dining in a nice home. Byrsa Bistro is our favorite!
Perfectly wonderful! The ambiance of the bistro is charming. Service was superb and food was delicious. The wines offered were their own product which added to the whole dinner ( the Pinot noir is great!)
Fabulous food, unique ambiance, comfortable and casual. BYOB with beer and wine available. Staff are friendly and nice, but not terribly attentive.
Have visited Byrsa a number of times and always consistently good.
Byrsa took over a train station at Glen Mills (the end of the line for the West Chester train excursions). The station had been an Orvis Pro Shop and a bistro - now, the restaurant occupies the entire station.
The casual feel and quaint look to the station and surrounding gardens makes the spot especially attractive. While out-of the way, it's less than 15 minutes from Rt. 202 at Dilworthtown, and had plenty of free parking.
Like all good specialty food restaurants, the menu offers a select set of entrees - about ten - which ensures expertise in preparation. As you would expect with a Lebanese chef, there are lamb dishes and fish (I am having the Branzino next time). But they add unusual dishes that have a Mediterranean spin. I had a paella with the customary mussels, shrimp and clams, but with the addition of lamb meatballs, olives, and spices. The result was a new take on a classic dish - both creative and delicious. It was served in a beautiful clay crock, as was my wife's chicken and vegetables - this one a Middle-Eastern spin on a local Amish recipe. They also have a seafood pasta and vegetarian options.
On Saturdays they have a fix pre' menu including appetizers and salad course. Other days they are ala carte, closed Monday and Tuesday. We had the shared Mediterranean plate with hummus, spiced carrots and olives. Second, we tried one of the best beet salads we have had, locally as well as a cauliflower and asparagus soup.
Byrsa recently added a bar with beers and wine, but still allow you to BYOB. This lovely bistro is a gem that offers a chef's personal vision (owner Ahmed Chraga) that produces dishes that are unique and satisfying.
Fabulous food and exceptionally friendly staff‼️
Great ambience and excellent food. The staff couldn’t be friendlier. Byrsa Bistro is a tucked away oasis that more people should know about. It’s a gem in the area.
Great Saturday evening meal outdoors in a lovely setting at Byrsa Bistro in Glen Mills. We enjoyed splitting the octopus appetizer, had a tasty creamy corn soup and goat cheese salad next and finished with succulent lamb shank and nicely-prepared Mediterranean Sea bass entrees. Service was a bit slow, but understandable on a busy Saturday. Highly recommended.
We absolutely LOVED our dining experience there and we will be back soon!
Fantastic hidden gem!! A must for anyone that loves great cuisine! From flavor to presentation to time between courses we couldn’t have been more pleased!!!! We will definitely be back.
Beautiful setting outdoors. Relaxed pace. Evan, our waiter
was accommodating, personable, and helpful. We’ll be back.
It’s such a treat to come here. Excellent food and service!
Had a great experience. It was lovely to sit outside. My husband loved his paella and I loved my branzino. The fig salad and the octopus appetizer with both terrific. It's a BYOB so we will definitely go back.
Outstanding spot. Everyone is so very nice and makes you feel welcome. The owner interacts with guests and makes you feel like an old friend. Food is great, nice portions sizes, reasonable pricing. All around great experience.
Good food, good service, very nice setting. This was our second time dining with them. The one improvement we would suggest is to expand the menu options.
Byrsa was like eating in the book Secret Garden. Delicious and creative cuisine with picturesque ambiance. An absolute gem.
It was a beautiful night, so we ate outside on the patio. It was very nice. Our service was fabulous. The food was excellent. I highly recommend this place. They don't rush you out the door when you are done either. BYOB. We will definitely return.
Nice off the beaten track place to dine and enjoy a quiet Saturday evening.
Next time there we plan on eating outside in their beautiful garden.
The atmosphere was so interesting and appropriate. Service and food were outstanding. We will definitely return very soon.
The ambience was perfect and the food was delicious!
Cute spot for sure. One thing I noticed and that several friends have pointed out is that the menu is very limited. If they’d add a few seasonal specials, it would really help them attract and retain diners. Was very good and plan to return! The byob option is great.
Enjoyed the food, awesome service and atmosphere! Highly recommend.
We had a delightful dinner outdoors in the lovely garden at Byrsa Bistro. The watermelon gazpacho was a flavorful treat on a warm summer evening and the wonderful paella that followed was chock full of shellfish and meat. My wife’s Chicken Tagine was outstanding with a portion large enough to provide lunch the next day. Service was friendly and prompt. Add in a pleasant chat with affable owner, Ahmed, and It was a wonderful evening.
This is a hidden neighborhood gem in a wonderful setting, surrounded by a trout stream. Beautiful garden, great tasting Mediterranean menu, nice portions with attentive service . This is our 4th visit and it has been a consistent experience every time. Noise levels are a major issue for us in most restaurants but that is not the case at Byrsa Bistro with your choice of dining rooms. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed
Beautiful warm historic atmosphere. Food and service were amazing. Reminded us of visits to Napa.
Looking forward to our next visit.
The black cod dish was very good, superb crispy on the skin.
A hidden gem in Glen Mills on a beautiful property. The menu is small so they can get everything right. We will certainly be back.
It was a quaint place with a very nice outdoor and back porch space. The menu was very simple and the pasta dishes were really good. A good date night place.
Food was wonderful. Gem of a location. Looking forward to returning.
Food was fantastic. Ambiance was great. I can’t believe I had never heard of this restaurant! Hidden gem!
Very unique and out of the way restaurant. Quaint and beautiful setting. The food was excellent. Highly recommend.
Been to this Bistro a number of times. Always consistent quality and service. Being both a BYOB and having a liquor license is a plus.
My wife and I love this restaurant. The owner is very personable. The waitstaff is very friendly. The cuisine (Mediterranean) is well prepared. We try to get there at least twice a year. I would go more often if it were closer to my house.
Wonderful dining experience. Chicken Tangine was the best! We also loved our waitresses. Excellent service!
The mushroom flatbread was delicious! Loved the gnocchi! Wynsor took great care of us.
A hidden gem. We will return and inform others. Serve and food were excellent and the grounds were beautiful.
Charming atmosphere and delicious food, nothing more to say!
We had a fabulous dinner here two evenings ago. First of all, the service was impeccable, and the location was charming and beautiful. The food clearly was made with fresh ingredients! I maybe had the best asparagus soup here that I ever have had Plus the chicken tangine was a superb dish. For the desert we had bread putting with vanilla ice cream. And let us not forget the great Mediterranean entrée... though I think for an appetizer for two people, we could have had a tiny bit more Hummus. Overall, the best restaurant I’ve been to in the area. My congratulations to the staff, the cook and Amit!!! My only concern is that I’ve heard there’s a bistro iopening up another location in Kennett Square. I just hope the quality and expertise can be retained at this location.
We like this little place in our back yard of Glen Mills. Need to know where it is and I hope it stays open for many years to come. Nice owner, pleasant and friendly.
