My husband and I went there to celebrate our anniversary. Very nice elegant atmosphere, food was fantastic. The whole experience was amazing. Will definitely go back

We have anticipated dining here for some time and brought our son who was vacationing from his job as a very high level fine dining chef in LA. We were very disappointed. The prime rib we were served twice should never have left the kitchen, it was so bad. my family had all finished dinner before I was served the third time. Prices were absurdly high across the board. Wines overpriced. We'll probably come back to the bar, although it's also overpriced. The views are spectacular for sure. There are way too many fine dining alternatives to ever come back. We had just returned from a trip to Palm Springs, LA, and Vegas where the food was superb and expensive but worth it.
The view was beautiful and especially with the sunset. The waiter,Ryan, was very attentive. The food was delicious! No complaints! Will go for our next big special occasion.

Nothing memorable - an expensive restaurant at a hotel. Definitely preferred when wit and wisdom was at the four seasons Baltimore.
Our benchmark for fine dining in Harbor East and in Baltimore has been Charleston. Bygone is our new standard. Dover Sole at $95 is worth it and the Beef Wellington was best ever. Oh, and the view is great.
Ordered tasting menu, high quality ingredients, but flaws in basic things. Bilini was crunchy, not soft and fluffy (nice caviar), Foie gras was cold, not seared like specified, risotto had a skin on it by the time presented, etc.
Apparently restaurant turns into a club on Fri, during dinner. By course 3, my water glass would not stop shaking until my waitress moved me deeper into the restaurant.

Amazing experience! Tonight was our second time visiting The Bygone, but the first time visiting in the evening. What a difference in ambiance the evening has! The food (Beef Wellington) was spectacular. Our service was phenomenal, and we had a fantastic time.
We have been a few times to the Bygone and have always enjoyed it. This time was different... the welcoming staff is just... amateurish, not really present and not trained to greet people in a manner suited to what is supposed to be an upscale restaurant. We showed ourselves to the bar as the Receptionist was just thinking of shuffling us to a table. After a good bar experience we went back to the reception to be guided to a table away from the window view which we had specifically asked for....as it is key Reason for going to the Bygone; after 10 minutes of haggling they did arrange for a window table. The food is still quite good but the service has become over friendly and approximate from all concerned. In all, just an average experience with a reception staff that is just.....disappointing. Seems like they are becoming more of a bar scene than an upscale restaurant experience.
The Bygone was the perfect place for me to celebrate my birthday. I will definitely be going back.

The server makes a big difference in the overall experience. Our server did not add to our experience. The food was ok. Lobster came out undercooked which was disappointing. I would come back for the ambiance more than the food.

I had made a dinner reservation weeks in advance and since we had guests from out of town,I requested a window table.We were seats not by the window,but rather in a booth with no view.When I said something to the person seating us,she stated the window tables were reserved for VIP’s!I have been to your restaurant numerous times and have always had a window table.Spending over $700 on dinner that evening,with food that was good but not great(especially the prime rib),was a real turn off to hear we were not VIP’s!

Service and overall experience was awesome! I would have liked to have a table right next to the window but we were still close. Maybe next time. Food was off the chart exquisite. Pricey but totally worth it!!! Our server was the B E S T! Seriously!!!
The views of the Bygone are stunning but truly that is about it. A lot of the food was standard fare. A suckling pig is impressive but it wasn't terribly moist or seasoned impressively. The West Coast oysters were full of shell shards, making it difficult to enjoy. The pasta station with lump crab? Not well seasoned, we needed salt to make it tasty and the veggies in the pasta were not cooked properly. I'd rather wait longer for my meal as opposed to biting down on still crunchy onions in my lump crab alfredo dish.
For a brunch that costs as much as it does, more of the dishes should be knockouts. Not to mention the dress code. I basically filled up on jumbo shrimp (which was delicious) but that isn't what makes a brunch. Plus you have to pay an additional $25 for bottomless drinks which is really high.
Our server was fantastic but for the price point, I expected much better quality food. It was basically a hotel brunch, tweaked, and was helped GREATLY by the amazing view. You can buy a drink at the bar and enjoy the view for far less than $60 a head, though.
The food was excellent, but service was not what we expected. I would rather the server actually write the order down instead of coming back twice - asking again what we ordered, never getting the salad I ordered, and having another server actually get dessert when they saw us sitting there waiting so long.
After calling the next day - we were informed the server was terminated during our meal. He took our order - even announced it would be free due to my birthday celebration. There was no handoff to anyone else. Someone else eventually came to ask what we ordered, and dessert WAS on the check.
As good as the food was - I'm sorry to say this was the worst service for what you would expect from the price tag.
Great atmosphere, so sexy and the views were spectacular. So I thought there would a sacrifice on the food, No way. My food was delicious. My husband and I really enjoyed our anniversary.
We were seated in an uncomfortable corner next to a pillar and a baby carriage. Our server had the sense to move us to a better table. Unfortunately my lobster entree was undercooked and not properly cleaned. For the prices this place charges, you would think they would know how to serve food that is safe to eat. I may return for drinks sometime but never for food.

I am a real estate agent and my husband and I come here every time I close on a property. It is my favorite place to be... delicious food with menu selections that no other restaurant can compare to amazing view and excellent service. They even gave me a celebratory dessert for my closing!
Nice venue. Food was only ok. Poor quality control. Was served a raw rack of lamb. You could tell just by looking at it, but the kitchen sent it out anyway. Convenient if you are staying at the hotel, but not worth a special trip

We arrived at the Bygone right in time for our reservation, only to be told that our table wasn't ready yet, and then we waited for 45 minutes. We were told that we could wait at the bar to wait for our table to be ready, but then, when our table was finally ready, no one came to get us. They texted my phone to tell me, but they hadn't explained that they would text me on my phone when the table was ready, so I wasn't on my phone to receive that text. They then seated me by a window, when I had requested to sit in the middle of the room when I made my reservation. Another BIG problem is that some of the dishes are for sharing and serve 2-3 people, and this is not indicated on the menu or explained by the wait staff. So we ended up ordering several dishes that were extremely expensive because of the large portions and WAY too much for one person to eat. My entree alone (the duck) could have served all of us. It makes no sense not to inform the customers about how many people a dish typically serves.
It is a bit pricey but worth it. Food was excellent. Service could be better. Compared to Charleston, it falls short.

We had to wait over 30 minutes for our table with a 6 year old. The appetizers were very good and the view spectacular. Service was barely adequate and the prime rib was a very thin piece of fatty meat. The beef Wellington was below average for $60 and no sides for that cost. Very disappointed in a restaurant that should have been better. If I ever return it would be for drinks only.
